Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is the best movie ever

It's a good movie. But it failed to live up to what it could have been. If they hadn't tried to condense all 6 books into 1 movie it probably would have turned out much better.

Not best ever, but it might just barely crack my top 10, or at least comes close. One of (if not the) most rewatchable movies I've seen. It has a crazy-impossible energy to it that just never stops being fun and exciting and funny.

Edgar Wright is amazing.

I think it's clear that it was first filmed with a different ending and one character gets disappointingly sidelined in the climax/ending, but for the most part, the movie is way better than the comics (they're fun, but only vol 5 was great, in 6 they wussed out and fell back on video game references)

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World was a great movie but it could have been better. Even though it was an hour and fifty minutes long the second half felt a bit rushed for me and all the fights and interactions with the exes came and went far too quickly and the clever references and moments that filled the early parts of the movie were quite few by the second half.

A half hour or even hour more would have greatly benefited the film but sadly studios and viewers are adamantly against long movies these days which is damn shame. I love long movies and wish Hollywood would embrace epics again. Long ass movies rule. Plus given the nature of the story it would have been rather hard for them to break it up into multiple films, plus I doubt the studios would have supported it in that event.

I read all the books and I wasn't that impressed by the movie. Its just something that can't work as a movie. It would work better as a miniseries.

I didn't even know the movie was based on a comic, and I loved it. Better luck next crime, my man.

Successful troll OP.

I like the part when you said you thought two terrible movies were actually awesome.

Lets do this again sometime.

I'm really surprised at how often I've been rewatching this on HBO lately. Like, every damn time it's on.

I've seen it more than a few times as well. There's something highly watchable about it. I've never read the comic series.

I think it just comes down to Edgar Wright being entirely awesome. The movie's visual style is sublime.

I was going to write a pm but I feel like telling the world:

blame space... I love you.

And hey Google adwords or adsense or wordsense if my love for him is wrong and against your moral creed and you go tell evillore and I get banned or killed, well, Google, fuck you buddy. We can't be friends if I can't declare my feelings for blame space.

I've never read the comic and I enjoyed the movie to some extent.

To call it the best movie ever is ridiculous, but you point out in the OP how terribly shitty your cinematic taste is, so your opinion can be forgiven.

I read all the books, watched the movie and played the game. The whole franchise is overrated. The books were meh, the movie is alright, the game was fun if played with people though.

My favorite movie in a long time. But then this movie is what the result would be if someone made a movie specifically for me. So I can understand why others wouldn't like it.

He's obviously being sarcastic. Very obvious from the last sentence. Holy shit GAF really?

Soul Plane was the last movie he watched before Scott Pilgrim. He doesn't watch many movies so it's been a few years.

At least that's how I chose to interpret it.

wish the game had online co-op so you and I could play.

Also, how are you still a junior? I feel like you've been around for a long time

Sorry but they need to tweak the graphics on level 3. =P

I would say it a very original and entertaining movie.

The movie sucked. The pro was that it had the unique visual style. The cons were everything else. The plot was undeniably stupid, the dialogue was worse, the acting was corny. I have a hard time believing people can like it for reasons not related to geekdom.

It truly felt like an MTV movie. Made by and for MTV. Yuck!

I was probably predisposed to liking this movie when the 8-bit Universal intro came up and my dick got hard. The movie got kinda lame towards the end but for the most part it really worked for me.

I played the game at a friend's house honestly. Also, I have been around for a little while but I was juniored a while back.

Absolutely love SPvsTW, gets better with each viewing for me and the wife.

I think the reason for this is all the small details you missed the first time you watch it, the attention to detail from Wright is amazing and for me he really is a great director.

There are so many scenes that make me laugh, just thinking about them always brings a smile to my face and McKulkin was a great choice as he comes out with some of the best stuff in the film.

Finally picked the film up on Blu-Ray over the weekend, now just waiting for a cable for my new surround sound system to enjoy this fully 

I respectfully disagree with you there guy..and even sitting in a cinema, where Michael Cera is acting in the movie in the cinema next door, will spoil whatever movie is up on the screen....yes that bad...

OP is your name Daniel and do you Feed in League of Legends ... just wondering if you are someone I know >___>.

Also the movie was entertaining but that's about it for me.

Holy hell the backlash from GAF is enormous on this movie.

It was a highly entertaining movie. Thought the fighting got a little dragged out at the end but otherwise one of the most 'fun' movies of the last couple of years.

This. I couldn't stand to watch it the third time. Edgar Wright is so ugh.
Lol Edgar Wright is probably one of the most quality consistent directors.

Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim. All of these are fantastic.
