see, i know i'm about the least picky guy here when it comes to CIB...but again, it was nearly $100 in '95 with a cheap cardboard box and i wanna say a B&W manual. nuts to that! got me a loose copy for just about/under $30 again and i'm done with it. still one of the best JRPGs.

I just spend US$ 410 in a 14 games lot from the early years of the Genny. Expensive but that already includes the international shipping, plus all games are complete including posters and flyers. Some high profile games like Moonwalker and Ghostbusters are in. I will take pictures of the lot when it arrives in a few weeks.

I ordered a cart only copy of Shadow Dancer for 5 +shipping after having a few beers, but I cant mention what's on my watch list right now as not to jynx it. One though isn't Genesis, but actually SNES which I might get back into...

The seller has a few CIB auctions running, I contact him with a deal for a lot of the games, he told me that he had many more titles still to place on ebay. I asked for pictures, and in the end I grab 14 titles. He put a special auction for me in ebay with the 14 games so the deal is covered by ebay.
Some of the pictures. Of course he me also pictures from the covers. Not pictured Wonderboy in Monster Land and Flicky. The only downside is that the cases do not have the hang tabs. I will need to replace the cases, but that is much easier than going after the posters and flyers.

Is it a big thing among Genesis collectors that the boxes have hangtabs? I have collected only 20-25 titles and I feel pretty good about what I have (only need Gunstar Heroes and then I will call it a day I think). BUT all but one don't have a plastic hangtab... You have planted the seed: now it feels like my collection is incomplete, lol.

I am very restrictive with my games, I want them as possible as they were back in The Day.
But keep in mind that not all Genesis games have tabs. Altered Beast do not (since it was a pack in) and all EA games.

Out of curiosity: how would one go about finding original Genesis boxes with tabs? Are they offered in bulk at some sites? (Then there's the problem of replacing Acclaim and Konami branded boxes, etc.)

I have a few cases with hang tabs. Sometimes I switch the cases for shitty games that I pick up with them for some of my nicer games.

This. I usually buy cheaper games from the same brand or not so complete but with good cases. Switch them and resell the game. You can also buy super cheap Sports games but those you cannot resell.

Noooooo! Hang tabs are legit. I like to keep them for authenticity. I bought some shitty sports games complete for my repros. I got 3/5 bucks and they worked flawlessly. Though, I am guilty of mismatching Sonic Spinball by putting it in an Acclaim case, but really that one is pretty common so I don't care too much.
Hot damn, those CIB pics are gaming porn. *drool*

I honestly never knew keeping those tags was a thing people do. I usually take 'em off, I'm not too big a fan of how it looks.

I usually tore off the tabs when I was younger. I only stopped out of laziness, really. They make it a pain when it comes to stacking or arranging cases sometimes.

When stacking you can fold the tags down too if you don't want to destroy them.
Pre-1994, the JP MD cases didn't have hang tabs. I guess they just started using North American ones after a while.

When a hang tab thing is missing from a megadrive box it feels incomplete. I have some ex-rental games and they had their hook pieces removed, by young kids or maybe the manager.

Yep, the PAL version is censored.
The cover art we got here was almost always the same or very close to the Japanese version.

They're not in the best condition, as you can tell, and the contacts were filthy (I'm still not convinced Batman is fully cleaned), but this came in last Wednesday.
Nice. Mega Turrican is on my list.
Those in the hunt for PS IV, there is a complete copy on eBay for 60+ shipping which seems to be around the going rate for it at this time, if not a bit below.

Batman and Robin is pretty hard, and its definitely like Contra in so many ways. (Pretty strange how Konami didn't develop this...)
It is difficult, to a pretty cheap degree, but man is it good! The music, tight controls, and art style are too good to stay away from.
Awesome collection! I've never seen these "Garantia SEGA Portugal" stickers. I suppose they were intended as a seal of quality of sorts?

I'm missing a few manuals but most games are complete. Not sure how I came about two RKAs and Quackshots. The box without a cover is Taz Mania and a recent addition is Micro Machines '96.
Its the second print in Portugal, the first print had the Japanese cartdrige and a Mega Key.

Ebay seems to be having a flood of PSIV right now. There are at least 5 copies CIB. The best ones, that includes the flyers, are in the $ 80 range however.
But I am glad I did not grab it last time. I spend too much in my last Genesis lot, now I have to heal my wallet. I know that is the right moment to buy PSIV it will be more expensive in the future, but I need to wait for a few months.

I bought it @ amazon.co.uk, PAL version. Was listed as Like New... i really hope i don't get a shitty one!
Because the game was not cheap!! (my wallet cried so much!)

gaf help: I contacted the seller from that lot again (very nice guy) to double check the games for imperfections (since I am paying quite a lot for the lot). I asked about the pins if there any rusty or brownish on them. He replied that the pins are fine, only the PCB is brownish. He send me a picture (quite burry) but he told me that is not rusty brownish, just brownish. As far I can see from the picture, the PCB seems to be naturally brownish. I quite do not remember if all Genesis games has green pcb boards or they did use other colors. Is there something I should know about PCB conservation? Something that I should be aware and ask the seller? Or they just use PCBs that are naturally in brownish color in the Genesis carts?
Edited: looking online for Genesis carts PCB images, it seems that while the board is green the part with the contacts are white/yellowish clear. Is this brownish thing something I should worry about? Some kind of aging?
Edited: looking around in the web it seems that I am safe. The only concern is the connectors. The PCB colour seems to be whitish/yellowish/brownish in the region of the connectors.
