Toe Jam & Earl (the first game), World of Illusion (although quite easy), and the Golden Axe series are also good for co-op.
Streets of Rage 2 and 3 are co-op mainstays
Gunstar Heroes, Toejam & Earl 2

Only bad thing about T&E 2 is platforming sometimes gets fucked up, it gets better once both players become better at jumping. The jumping in the game is like you're on the moon, takes getting used to. It's also hilarious. So I know that Toejam & Earl 2 is WAY cheaper than 1 but which makes for the better multiplayer game?
I so wish I'd find a Japanese "Bare Knuckle 3" for an affordable price.![]()

Completely different game styles. The first one is kind of top down perspective with focus on exploration. The second is a typical platformer. The first is considered a great game, the second not so much.
I just bought The Hybrid Front.
Looking forward to playing it soon.

Game gets a lot of hate, but I enjoyed it. I even prefer the Genesis version's music over Richard Jaques tunes made for the Saturn version.
Not with those atrocious load times.
Same. I listen to the Genny OST every once in a while.
Also, unlike the Saturn version, the Genny version looked dang good for the platform.

it ain't real hardware but at least you can grab a fantastic port of the Japanese version on XBLA/PSN for cheap

Seems like the usual price online is about 30 bucks? Not too bad considering the prices Final Fight games usually go for.

Not 30 exactly, but 34.95 with 3+ shipping. But thats NA shipping prices i guess.
That's a pretty nice little freebie. I like that one.Went to my local game store today and traded in some stuff i was done with and they gave me $32 in store credit. Got them to give me Contra III for SNES which they had marked $34.99, and they more or less threw in Mystic Defender for the Genesis for nothing. Really awesome guys in there. Level 7 games for folks in Denver.
Love the toejam & earl series on megadrive, both ways of playing the game are fun and they did a good job turning it into a platformer I thought.
3 however... eh.
Toejam & Earl 4 coming exclusively to XBOX ONE.There was no three. Don't be spreading lies of I'll send the mailbox after you.
Speaking of TJ&E I actually came across a CIB copy yesterday for $20 locally. I'm not really sure if it's worth that or not though. I never really did like it all that much as a kid, BUT I think it's something me and my girlfriend could play together.
Awesome! If you can't get RGB, get the next best thing.Just got my S-Video modded Model 1. HOLY SHIT does it make games look way better. Worth every penny!
Goes for like twice that, easily. Buy.
If you end up not liking it, you can flip it quickly.
Well, I know what I'm doing tomorrow then. Thanks for the heads up.
Yeah, just to be sure it's TJE1 you're referring to, right? That's the one I was talking about.
This came in the mail today. Mostly taking a break from buying old games, but I had some eBay bucks, so I bought this. I have some good memories of playing this as a kid over at my cousin's place across the country.
Fun bit of trivia: Aladdin is the best selling 3rd-party Genesis game of all time.
Third fun fact: If you walk off a platform, hold jump, and land on something that launches you upward, you go significantly higher. Some Apu tokens can only be gotten in this fashion, but nothing tells you about it AFAIK.
Just picked up these bad boys for a total of $25 at my local game store. Both CIB![]()
