Oh Sega. You lovable scamp.
Might settle for the ps3 version then
Oh Sega. You lovable scamp.
Sega have been genuinely smart with game prices recently. VF5:FS basic for £10 or £20 for the version with all bells and whistles is another example that I felt was smart, particularly as there was no missing content from the core game at the lower price point.
I like it and I have no qualms paying day one prices everytime, as long as they keep producung quality games (which they have been doing recently).
Actually... If anyone has the PS3 disk version in the US, we're trying to confirm the update is out over in US land. Just making sure (as it is out over here in the EU!).
That update addresses some Trophies glitches and a few general tidy ups. Slight performance increase too

I'm getting my Wii U copy in the mail today. If anyone wants to add me as a friend my NNID is DredPirateStorm. I see some people are having issues with the day 0 patch breaking the boost missions. Is there any way to disable the patch so I don't bork the game?
I don't know what the patch is, though. It might be Metal Sonic and Outrun Bay. When you bypass the patch see if you have them. I'm not sure if they're on disc or not.
The PS3 and 360 use an unlock code, so they're probably on disc for the Wii U too.
It runs fine. But there are other problems. There's a patch (which I'm pretty sure you can bypass but I didn't know I should) that breaks some missions in World Tour mode (the mode where you unlock most the characters) as well as breaks one of the Wii U exclusive multiplayer modes.Thinking about picking this up for the Wii U. Haven't been reading this thread much, is the Wii U version up to par with the other versions??????
All I remember is early demos of the Wii U build in the summer being kinda terrible with the frame rate and whatnot.

I meant I wonder if they show up as available without the patch on Wii U. Because I didn't have to enter an unlock code or anything. I just started the game up, let the automatic patch install, and they were there. But if you bypass the patch I wonder if they don't get unlocked.
Sorry I wasn't clear.
Yeah, as soon as you start the game up it'll begin downloading the patch. Instead of letting it finish downloading, there's a big "START GAME" button. Hit that to bypass the patch.
That'll only work once - the patch continues to download while you are playing, and next time you run the game, you have it installed. As for what the patch installs, I always assumed that the day-1 patches all enabled online features since they didn't exist on the console until day 1.
So this is a 30fps game on all consoles? :\ Locked 30 or minimum 30?
I guess that would explain the graphics being so pretty.

They're much muddier than the previous game. Blurry even.
Sub-30fps and sub-HD.
Just so we're clear...
You are learning the hard way. You all seem to believe that defining the character roster involves me and Rex pulling names out of a hat, throwing darts at a wall of post-its, or just going on some 'eeny meany miny mo' method based on a post on this thread.
It isn't as simple as that. First you create a shortlist. Then you check the licensing. Then you attempt a series of concepts, then you focus test, then you discuss it with marketing, then with territories, then you try some models. At every stage the list gets smaller and smaller.
But the very first step is the shortlist. You're doing that now. You've defined some rules and you're mostly sticking to them.
It's actually really rather refreshing to see!
But I do have to remind you of the reality. Some characters may not be realistic as they may incur significant licensing costs. Some may not be doable as they require the licensing of a real world actor, you can't use someone's face without permission. I don't know right now if either of these is an issue or not - I'm not going to look into it till I see the results on the 1st.
You are free to vote for any of the shortlisted people. You should respect each others opinions. Just as you don't like character y, is not a valid reason to tell someone else not to vote for character y.
We *will* be vetting the data at the end. If we believe there are duplicate votes, we'll delete the duplicates. This will only work if the people that need convincing believe in what's been presented. If you've cheated, all you have done is increase the risk your character will lose votes and not be included in whatever discussions occur. Don't blame us for wanting accurate data.
I do want to see 3 clear winners. If you all spread vote - what's the point. You can't vote for two political parties for a reason. Likewise, we're giving you an opportunity here, don't squander it, use it, behave maturely.
If a character can't be done for licensing, legal or other reasons, we will have runners up as alternatives. But I want 3 to present and this is done intentionally to teach you that anyone can create a list of 100 characters to include, but when it comes to actually having a hard limit - then the task is inmeasurably harder. Perhaps it will make you appreciate how difficult it is. That's why I did it
I will say a thank you in here for the crew who are organising this. I know how difficult it is, how little thanks they'll get for running and policing it - mostly as I went through all manner of emotions in the 'Experiment'. Bear this in mind when you want to back seat drive.
And... Back to hands off

I didn't realize Ryo wasn't in this game D:
Please Segata Sanshiro don't charge lots of money for your likeness or force Sega to put a different face on you D:
And Sega whatever you do, Segata Sanshiro must never smile. No matter how cartoony you make him.
People really love that Golden Axe stage online. It's like Maka Wuhu status, except that stage was glitched!
No worries, he already is in the game as a cameo and they handled it very well. People do want him in as a racer, though.
I downloaded one earlier so yes, it likely did.I think it patched overnight my ps3 said it dled a patch.
I thought I just needed 155 for Ages, oops, it's 165 and i'm on 150.I just spent the last 1 hour trying to get some fucking Stars, but I get NON, NON, FUCK EXPERT'S CHEAP-ASS DIFFICULTY!
I dislike the game but love the track, the power of enjoyable design!I've never played Golden Axe so it means NOTHING to me.
Standard races feel like a gamble, boost challenges are like the devil himself.
I had to look up what a Miku even is. How the hell is she doing so well?

I don't think she's even a Sega character.

She's not. They licensed her for some games or something. No way she's getting in.
171 stars here...
So what's behind the 200-stars lock? I already have Ages, but seems I'm still missing a character according to the character sell.
Beat grand prix to unlock the last character.
Was playing online and saw someone playing as Eggman. I was worried you couldn't play as him.
