Sony has quietly added animated PS5 backgrounds featuring Horizon, Demon’s Souls, Ghost of Yotei & more to select players

Gimme one of Raven from Stellar Blade walking towards the camera with full juggle physics enabled!

C'mon, Sony!!!
Ooo Raven!

Because it's nothing compared to what we used to have on PS3 and PS4, seems like themes, dynamic themes and custom wallpapers are never coming back
PS3 had it the best with the Xbm bar. We had a shit ton of options and you could keep the theme while changing the background. There were even themes with soundtrack or that changed the whole menu and the menus sounds. PS4 was a huge stepback, and PS5 is just miserable in the customization department.

I activated the Stellar blade animated background for my ps5 profile. I cannot find Death stranding, maybe I overlook it. I hope there is one soon.

You really have to hand it to both of them for hitting home runs like SNES/PS2 and having the courage to just throw both of their respective user flows/UIs/UXs in the trash forever.
Fast forward a few decades - the hated Windows' user flow and UI is literally the only way to game on a console or PC.
SNES had a UI/user flow?

You're just lumping PS2 and SNES together because these are the two consoles you think are destined to make a triumphant return to save gaming.

Edit: Also WTF is this that Windows UI is the only way to use a console? Get help.

I'm referencing the point when both companies abandoned simple user flows that had been the console standard since day one.
It should have read GameCube, or Nintendo's last console with the SNES user flow which is basically the same as the PS1 and PS2 user flow which is the same as a CD player.
Both Nintendo and PS abandoning the standard "Game Console" user flow and adopting Windows user flow is a fundamental wrong turn for gaming.
PC gamers want the option to boot directly into games and it's just never been possible with Windows.

Gaming as a whole benefits from a return to esoteric HW that comes with a massive decrease in game dev costs/time.
Either Sony or Nintendo makes that move and we all benefit when studios start pumping out new games yearly and taking risks.
The SouthPark guys have stated publicly that they need faster game turnaround. They want to make new games as fast as they make new episodes of SP.
PS2 gives us an AAA SouthPark game in 1-2 years and PS1 gives us an AAA game in about 1 year.
Massive PC HW advances and SDK advances will drop those OG PS1/2 dev times significantly.
Look at "Snow Day!" and understand that outside of less complicated legacy dev targets there is no hope for faster AAA game dev.

Yeah they abandoned the old user flow of virtually no UI but they didn't turn to Windows. Instead you have to press the A button to start your last played game or, worse, use the d-pad to pick a different one first. THANKS FOR RUINING NINTENDO, BILL GATES

The SNES mini has no carts to insert. There is no way for them to simplify the UI further than what they did with a bunch of games on a home screen. The same thing PS and especially Switch has. Some wish they would make it MORE Windows-like by adding folders. Which wouldn't really be bad -folders aren't the part of Windows we don't like. I don't remember which systems have it buried in the menus but there's still an option to automatically launch the game when inserted...when there is a game to insert.

You can't undo the passage of time. If Sony and Nintendo decided to simply agree to revert back to an older standard, a third player like Xbox or practically anyone else could just come in with modern technology and make it completely pointless. The world won't bury its head in the sand. In a sea of SNES "AAA" games, a single modern Ubisoft game is Super Mario 64 and the others become retro brands. As the meme goes, what has been seen cannot be unseen.

Your answer to fix AAA is to simply change the definition of what AAA is to what it used to be. It won't work. While acknowledging the existence of modern technology, developers will have to reign in budgets and shoot for less bloated AA style games. But modern AA is much less defeatist than SNES AAA.

Dunno if its regional or just random users. They didnt advertised this so they are rolling it out to all users. Im not even subscribed to PS+ Extra or Premium and got them.

Maybe it's loyalty or purchase based. I'm not on PS+ and haven't been in eons, but I own over 600 games digitally.

Why are they keeping Days Gone alive lol
They probably would have happily buried it after the initial reviews. It's the fans who are keeping it alive.

Shame Sony didn't believe it a sequel. Day's Gone 2 would have done very well today especially with the woke movement dead and buried.

Did you get yours straightened out?
