Star Wars Jedi: Survivor™ - PS5 - Patch 10

It's now much better than before in performance mode, it now looks really sharp on my TV (55" QD-OLED). Base PS5 in performance mode was super blurry in comparison.
In motion they have also reduced the ghosting/instability that plagued the intial Pro patch to a really acceptable minimum, not 100% perfect here though.
Ray tracing is also there at 60fps although in a reduced form.
For me it's a really good update and what it should have been released back in November.
A few screens from performance mode:

On resetera somebody said that shaders were missing on the pro after this patch .
Some shaders and textures are definitely not loading up properly. I have no idea how some people think the performance mode is at an acceptable level, I must be playing a different game. It’s a total visual downgrade from fallen order on performance. This will probably be the last time I ever buy a game from this studio until they get their shit together. I Wish I could downgrade back to the base PS5 version.

Sigh. Needs to cook for a few more years it seems. Guess I'll just wait till PS6 for this one.

I'm enjoying the game (PS5 Pro). There are some bugs and quirks but nothing too bad until now. Story so far is nothing special. I got back to Koboh after a trip to its moon.
New patch has made it better, the texture loading is very distracting initially but I played Borderlands on PS3 ffs :D

Par for the course. I didn't touch fallen order until a whole generation later!

That's describes so many games in my backlog.

It's why I fully support games having as many graphical features as possible and unlocked framerates and dynamic resolution.

Half my backlog won't be played until PS6. Games that are future proofed are much more likely to be purchased by me even if I won't get to them for years.

The latest version has some shortcomings, but they are not an issue for my 43" TV.
To enable RT and maintain 60fps, even the PS5 Pro will have a low internal resolution of around 900p.
To play games without glitches on your high-end TV, you might need an RTX 4090 instead of a console.

Take it from me, it doesn't run well even with a 4090. So much stutter and artifacts even with DLSS.

The 4k 60 first playthrough of Elden Ring shall patiently wait!

The 4k 60 first playthrough of Elden Ring shall patiently wait!

There are few games that I'm in a rush to play day one. I'm more than happy to wait around to play them at a later date fully polished.

I don't play online games, so other than avoiding spoilers, I don't really have any issues.

I recently played Hogwarts Legacy on PS5 Pro for the first time and I ran it at above 60 fps. Even dropping it to 60 fps with RTX felt painful, but running it at like 80 or so fps? It felt pretty decent.

How’s the XSX version lately?
About the same I guess? I play in Quality mainly, so I can’t speak on Performance mode, but Survivor is just a poorly optimized game across the board. On the Series X, though, I believe Quality mode sits at around 1152p before it’s upscaled to 4K with RT turned on, 30 fps. The game feels like it holds to that frame rate for the most part, until you get to large bodies of water with a lot of reflections going on, and the fps drops noticeably.

The Series X manages the game just fine, but the game itself feels like it’s held together by scotch tape from an optimization side.

Happy to report that this update is ...shit.

Quality mode is very crisp and zero shimmer.

Performance though oh boy.
Textures load too long.
Anything in the background is blurry as hell. Zero texture detail far away.
Shimmer still very present on foliage and anything far away. I have to stand right next to vines trees etc to resolve the shimmer.
There is also a lot of grain in the picture though i turned off film grain and motion blur. I can live with shimmer on foliage but that the whole screen is grainy as fuck even standing next to a rock is aweful.
Dont know what to say.
Better than nothing as quality mode looks great but image is a stuttery mess and performance is just hurting my eyes.

Mind you my 85 inch tv will show you every blemish.

You know what. I waited long enough and at this point i am just going to delete this game.

You devs suck ass. I want my money back

At 85" you need 8k or a lot of distance between you & the TV

I sit far away. Further than i want to.

Alan wake 2 had much better image quality than jedi.
Same for all other games.

Its mostly still a problem in this game and a couple more.

Even silent hill 2 looks crisp in perfomance mode compared to jedi.

I played around a bit more today. Its servicable but not ideal. But will power through as the game itself is good otherwise.

I was playing in perf mode and it was so glitchy and framey last time I tried to play.

the amount of input lag in quality mode makes the game feel like absolutely shit.
I could never play that way.

Perfomance mode runs fine now as well, but the game in general just looks like absolutely ass in either mode imo.

I’m legit pleased with how it looks and plays on PS5 Pro. I played through Coruscant and it’s light years more stable than it ever was on my 4090 7800X3D.

Of course I’ll see how Koboh looks before passing final judgement. That area has the most performance problems and visual glitches. They were and still are BAD.

I tried the game after the latest patch i on my 4090 and the game was still stuttering and having frame pacing. I dont agree that the performance is alright papi sorry
Absolutely no issues on my 7800xt. Sure it's not performing amazingly but the stutters are almost completely gone for me.

I edit the whole message, what you are saying is that your gpu worked fine. I understand now.

Well, I guess maybe the game is not very optimized in Nvidia? Who knows

I just wished it worked better without stuttering, for me stuttering is the worst issue a game can have, I cant enjoy a game with this problem
