Target Black Friday deals

Are Westinghouse TVs really that bad? I have a 26" one and I thought it looked pretty nice, and almost everyone that's come over has commented on how good it looks. We picked it out by comparing it to everything on the floor and to us it looked the best for that size. I'd love to upgrade to the one in this ad, but I'd rather not be trampled, and people here seem to hate on Westinghouse.

No they always start at 12am PST.

Although now with their "Black Friday Week" they don't really have a starting time.

Really? I've been able to buy my stuff on Amazon at 9pm (I live in SF Bay Area) as recent as last year. Only really waited for lightning deals, but for BDs I didn't have to wait as they were BF price (previous hours were the old prices).

I don't know much about Westinghouse but I do know that the picture quality of a TV is something that is not well judged on a show-floor. All of them have the brightness and contrast jacked up to make the picture pop and the lighting isn't exactly ideal either.

I have had a Westinghouse for years and love it. It may not be the best but is great considering I paid half the price pf other TV's at the time.

Welp, unless gamestop or sears has saints row 3 for $35/$30 or $40 , I'll just have to rent it :(

These prices are kinda worse then best buy and Wal mart, I'll be stocking up on blu rays though B)

Target does have the best kinect bundle, that wipe out game looks fun haha, and I want rise of nightmares

That's the thing about TV's. As long as there isn't some glaring flaw that you just can't get over you will probably be satisfied once it's sitting in your home and you're not comparing it to anything else. It's probably true for the majority of people at least, I know there are some videophiles who would disagree.

LOL @ PS3 small bubble

"Streams Netflix!"
Listing any games would be false advertising. What would they do when the customer got to the store and asked where the PS3's games were kept?

Yeah, exactly. If you calibrated a Westinghouse TV and a TV made by a superior brand, almost any name brand is going to look much better than the Westinghouse. But if you're already happy with the one you have, you're better off just saving some money and sticking with it. If you like your current Westinghouse, I doubt a newer one is going to look worse.

But yeah, if you have the money to spend, show floors are a horrible environment to try out TVs since the lighting is probably nothing resembling your home, and the brightness, contrast, and color are always jacked up on show floor TVs to compensate for the lighting.

The Xbox deal is pretty good for those that would need it. BB has the better game deals though.

Might pick one up from Target since I'm not really interested in those games, but will use it for fighting games/Dark Souls.

I know that, but we took a few off of show room settings messed with the settings and contrast and everything while there, and the Westinghouse still seemed to look best to both of us. And as I said, people who come over usually comment on how good it looks. My wife's parents have 2 46" Sony Bravias and they always comment on how good our TV looks for its size. Though that could be because I calibrated it decently and they probably suck at that, lol.

Not to mention they try to pre-calibrate show flow tvs so that your eyes are drawn to more profitable brands.

Up until 2009 yes. Then I think it was last year they started doing the Black Friday week thing so they just had deals throughout the week. I remember a ton of blu-rays dropped in price on Monday. On Friday they had a few more lightning deals than usual but it wasn't like everything dropped in price at a certain time.

Guess so, but I didn't really buy lightning deals last year and the prices for some BDs were the same price on Friday as they were on Monday. So wasn't really much of a change.

Will Target not have the Black 3DS & Zelda bundle? Will every store have both the Red and Black bundles or only some stores? I know Best Buy is advertising both

I was thinking about taking advantage of the $20 gift card next week and then using the gift card on a 3DS bundle but I do want the Zelda one

Also, I assume gift cards are still good during Black Friday. Is that right?

getting the brand new skyward sword with nsmbw and the goddamn smg soundtrack is a pretty sweet deal for $150.

i keep forgetting no gamecube support though.

Tempting as hell to go for that 3DS deal. I'm going to Hawaii 4 hours after target opens at midnight too. Haha. It'd be nice to have that on a plane (so I can play Okamiden).
