The drama continues: KCD2 director calls anti-woke YouTuber grifter after the latter claimed massive refunds due to the game's recent controversy

Pandering never works. Those who criticized the previous game for lack of DEI are not going to like this game. All they have done is piss off a large portion of their fanbase. The black guy comes off so check the box and is giving a sermon on top of that. Basically the worst way to handle it. Where is the masculine girl boss?

That's not necessarily a contradiction.

In the first case, if Vávra was replying to people who expected the game to portrey Bohemia as being as racially/ethnically diverse as a modern capital, then Vávra's position is spot on. It wasn't. And in that case, the general statement "there were no black people in medieval Bohemia" is correct in that context.

However, that doesn't make the presence of isolated cases of black people in medieval Bohemia a stretch. There's nothing ahistorical about assuming that you could have e.g. black people as part of a foreign power delegation, or as part of a group of traders, or a black monk studying at an university or large monastery in a major trade/urban center, or some other plausible reason.

All this tells me is that both the so called wokes and the so-called anti-wokes are 1) ignorant and 2) politically motivated idiots.

Tag, you're it.

For sure, but at the same time he had a strong position when KCD1 released. It was discussed in all ways when the first game released, including with what you said and yet Vavra staying firm on his position. So seeing this turnover is... weird at least.

Not telling anyone what to do but it will be a shame to miss out on a special game like KCD2, which we won't get a lot,
I also think people making a mistake here by overreacting about two tiny details in a 100+ hours game. But maybe I am too biased. Loved the first game and everything I saw sofar from KCD2 is basically KCD1 on steroids. Cant help myself....but i am still hyped af!

As you should.
Again not saying no one what to do, but the changes looks minimal and some are optional, i for sure doesn't like the Henry suddenly can date boys, but it is optional so fuck it, i don't like changes to characters i like in general but still this game looks awesome and i won't deny myself the pleasure of playing it. :)

Wasn't he the guy who threw shade on Veilguard, and now his game turns out to be woke too? This is pretty stupid drama. Just let the game speak for itself, devs need to learn to shut up.

Veilguard and KCD...is like night and day! Honestly if you think these two games have anything in common...I feel sorry for you.

Grifters are slaves to greed. If that means being "anti-woke" for a period and "pro-woke" the next (or vice versa), then that's exactly what they will do. That's part of why I've never been a fan of those "shocking" Youtube thumbnails and general use of clickbait too. It might work, but the grift is very obvious.

All this tells me is that both the so called wokes and the so-called anti-wokes are 1) ignorant and 2) politically motivated idiots.

Yes. I feel similarly. The only thing worse than excess of "woke" is excess of "anti-woke" and this case is a great example of that.

For all the talk against "censorship" and respecting the creator's vision, apparently that doesn't count when a creator decides to use said freedom and chooses to include a black character or one (optional) gay relationship, even if this is done in a way that makes contextual sense? Come on.

The director should just shut up, at this point it's clear that the anti woke crowd is as retarded as the woke crowd back then when kcd1 released, don't understand why he keeps giving them the attention they seek

I never thought giving players options would cause this much drama, just the mere option of a gay romance and people lose their minds

Did the same happen for mass effect or dragons age origin? BG3? What's the difference exactly?

The difference is the dev at one point said the character was straight and it's his story. Now they've had the audacity to change their minds and we need to make sure they pay for this.

Everything is anime now. Add anything anime themed to something and it will sell or get viewed 500% more
Anime was a mistake. Especially when brought to the west. I feel like man cards should be revoked and they should be forced to watch sports and drink a man’s beer.

Anime are probably more manly to watch than most of the woke slop you have in cinemas and serial tv right now :lollipop_squinting: :lollipop_squinting:

Sad reality i know.
