The PlayStation 5 Pro has been out for a month, what are your thoughts so far?

Only game I've played that has taken advantages of the features is Dragon's Dogma 2 and that was great. I could see myself playing the Pro or PC version and not thinking twice about it.

So far so good.
It’s a night and day difference. In order to get decent framerates on OG PS5, you had to turn off raytracing and enable the new graphics options that basically made the game look last-gen. Playing the game at launch, I know I was in the low teens with all the effects going off.

Meanwhile, PS5 Pro lets you have it all. You get to play the game with the clearly intended visual presentation and maintain a really good framerate. Feels so much better to play.

It's nice and small and has a beautiful disk drive and is quiet and makes Elden Ring play spectacular.
Enjoying Elden Ring on my Pro. Playing on performance and finally don't need VRR. Especially my tv is a x900h so no vrr is a big plus for me. Tried GT7, callisto, horizon 1 and 2 and the IQ is awesome.

Stellar Blade is sublime. Been playing Motorfest which also looks amazing. I'm about to play Star Wars Outlaws now that a lot has been fixed and apparently has good Pro implementation. Waiting for Space Marines 2 Pro patch this month, Still yet to boot up GT7, I actually have a wheel and PSVR2, I've just been lazy to set up.

I think I'm more excited at the future capabilities. Everyone is shitting on PSSR right now but I think future games are really going to shine when they iron out the bugs with the PSSR implementation. If people really care about GTA VI, they should be buying a Pro because at launch, it will be the best experience you can get. Base PS5 if it has a performance mode, will probably suffer with image quality. At least it's not using UE5 and I have faith Rockstar will be able to provide good PSSR implementation with their RAGE. Other third party games have managed to do it. GTA VI is console only at launch and Pro is the most powerful console, you do the math. There is no reason for Sony not to milk Pro capabilities through what is most likely going to be one of the highest selling games in recent history.

Did you try callisto or stellar blade or did you already play them

I also just bought SB for the pro and started playing. Is it my setup or does the game have a weird gray fog over the whole image? No matter what I do with the settings I feel like the color just looks off.

Playing on a G4 Oled with HDR on.
Not getting that at all. I'm playing on the normal Pro performance mode with high framerate on. I had played half the game already before the Pro and it looks exactly the same except now playing around 80 fps and 4K image is so sharp, looks native. Maybe it's to do with your TV, I don't have an OLED. Can you post a screenshot or pic showing on your TV that shows the grey fog/off color? Maybe it's just the area in the game you playing? I dunno.

No coil whine is great.

Looks better than the original console.

Still waiting on the disc drive. The bill is here so I assume the disc drive will come soon.

Cost me roughly $1200 total because of weak local currency and high US price.

Stellar Blade looks and runs great.

Demon’s Souls looks and runs great.

Astro Bot should’ve had a Pro update and they should’ve changed the mothership to the Pro console for Pro owners.

Rebirth seems good but I’ll probably play it on PC since I haven’t finished Remake yet and already play that on PC with mods.

Right now it’s a meh launch to be honest but I assume there will be games coming soon that’ll make it the must have console for enthusiasts. And if Sony keeps delaying PC releases there isn’t much choice anyway, waiting makes me salty so not doing that for anything I really want anymore.

6/10 Now
9/10 after TGA I assume

So far, most useless console I've ever owned. Most games I've played are broken. Sony, if you don't want me to move to PC, this ain't it.

It made a massive difference playing BG3 in split screen (as it supports up to 60fps in that mode) and for some of the other games look good. It's not a massive difference but I feel like it was worth the money for me.

Great investment with all the games releasing onwards from now, currently enjoying stellar blade, warhammer darktide, GT7 in the highest console fidelity possible on a 55" C4, yes there are some rocky patches but who plays ubisoft games anyways. Still hoping for that Silent Hill 2 patch and fix though that really annoys me.. Warhammer space marine 2 patch dropping today. cant wait to see it in action! overall 8/10 would buy again.

The console in itself is nice, not groundbreaking but better resolution and better framerate is always good. Now everything around it is grade A bullshit. Sony not caring to figure out how to stop scalpers show how much contempt the braindead execs running the show have for their customer base. All the bullshit communication and the fact that this overpriced item is released at that price just after the monumental failure that is concord also feels really weird.

And im still waiting for a disk drive even tho i only look every two or three days... Might have been able to get one if i stuck to the ps direct website like a hermen hulst faced crab stuck to sony's shriveled balls* but it's not my style.

*Sony balls are shriveled by years of mismanagement and customer abuse

It's an alright console. Replaying Resident Evil 4 and Callisto Protocol, both are excellent on the Professional. I'll stick to Silent Hill 2 on PC though which is a shame because I want to get the trophies and thought the Professional patch would have been an RT + 60 FPS mode.

Its been decent, I think the problem is it hasn't got a new game to go with it that's first party.

Usually with a new system you get a game that you spend the first month or couple of weeks playing and spending most of your time with that sort of shows off the capabilities and that game becomes synonymous with the console.

For instance the Pro with Horizon 1, checkerboard upscaling.

With this its just relying on current releases that most people have played and the upscaling and power is really nice but it has that feeling of "well ive played this before" so its nice just not like wow im hooked.

Its like rebuying your games on steam, you buy them and can play them at higher fidelity but ultimately if you have played it already there is little incentive to extensively play them.

Lucky POE is out. Shame Indy isnt out on it as thats what ive settled on playing at the moment.

I am not the target audience for the pro consoles. I game on a small 40" TV from a fair distance so I find it difficult to tell the difference between 1440p and 4K. I bought a discounted PS4 slim after the PS4 Pro was released and a PS5 slim after the PS5 pro was released. I do not feel that I have missed out on much in either case. I would probably feel differently if I had a TV larger than 65".

The easiest pro console to justify is the XboneX but that's because the Xbone was really anemic powerwise and hamstrung by the DDR3 RAM.
