Playstation consoles without discs have no purpose, might as well go full PC in that case.

Same here. I want to buy one, but there are no drives for sale so it does not make sense for me to pick one up. Every store is fully stocked with consoles though. This is pretty wild. There are PS5 pros just sitting on the shelf at my local Walmart, but there isn't a disc drive for sale at retail price within a hundred miles of here. I was literally going to buy a Pro today but I'm not bothering until I get a disc drive first.
Imagine that console users actually like the console experience. Not everyone wants to look at Windows or deal with PCs in general after work.Playstation consoles without discs have no purpose, might as well go full PC in that case.

Bastard.I managed to snag myself a stand-alone disc drive. Planning to trade in my launch disc PS5 on Monday for a Pro and have the ultimate PS5.
Bastard.By some miracle a local Best Buy got quite a few of them in a few weeks before the PS5 Pro launch. Managed to get one. My PS5 Pro is now complete.
I take we’re not talking about Dutch toilets. That's cute. Toilets are fine, thank you.
Disc drive is also not available in countries with world class toilets.
Literally every post you've made on NeoGaf is sucking Sony's dick, while doing passive aggressive laugh emojis to anyone shitting on your narrative. It's funny the lengths your mental gymnastics take you.
Irony.Playstation consoles without discs have no purpose, might as well go full PC in that case.
This seems a bit disingenuous. You're comparing apples to oranges. The PS5 launch was not "broken." Sony produced a ton of units for it. However, demand was absurdly high, and it would sell out instantly partly due to demand, partly due to scalpers buying them all up. PS5 launched during peak Covid, so this was not just a "make more units Sony" issue. Chips and parts were in extremely high demand across the tech spectrum, not just for gaming devices. Demand was at an all-time high while supply was at an all-time low. It took a lot of time for this situation to correct itself, but once it did, PS5s became easier and easier to get until you could just walk into any store or log onto any site and buy one as you can today.I've had this thing sitting around for 2 weeks now. Still no drive. I have reserved it at 3 stores. Ps5 pro mountains are everywhere. You might think that Sony might have produced a few drives as well, but nope. Maybe you could have learned from the broken ps5 launch, but no, that's asking too much.
Its doing well in the US, for now, everywhere else its priced terribly and discdrives are nowhere to be found except from scalpers, hell here in eu/poland smaller stoles scalping the discdrives themselfs and selling online for over 250$ a piece, thats how ez it is for scalpers to fuck us up when they need to scalp not 700usd/800euro console but 80$ discdrive. All this because of the Pro? Seems Sony was able to anticipate the demand for Pro but not the drives. Either way, Pro is driving this shortage which tells me it is doing pretty dang well.
Irony.
Oh please tell me how is that?No irony at all, digital on pc is much better than on consoles.
Physical is the biggest advantage consoles have at the moment, and looking at what Ms and Sony are doing it will be a moment...
There is only 1 digital store for playstation, aka 0 competition, on pc u got many that compete with eachother which results in lower prices, simple as that.Oh please tell me how is that?
Specially considering the majority of PS5 game sales are digital lmao.

I buy all my PC games physical! Tie Fighter, Eye of the Beholder, and one of the last ones I could, World of Warcraft!
This again.
Just got notified by a Portuguese retailer that they have this available for delivery in 12 days tops. Europe is getting units as we speak or during the next 2 weeks.
Just a heads up. If Portugal wirh 10M people is getting them, must mean every country in europe is as well lmao
edit: Sony really made me spend 800€ on a console and another 120€ on a disc drive like this...

To give u comparision if i wanna buy ps5pr0 now, with discdrive from scalper(coz no1 else is selling, all major stores got it sold out with no info on avaiability) i gotta spend close to 1200usd, suddenly ps5pr0 doesnt sound like good deal anymore.
And lets not mention salaries here are roughly 4-5x lower vs the US, but that affects all electronics, including my upcoming new pc rig(still on the verge when to buy it but with ps5pr0 being big bust coz of disc drive scalpers its pushing me towards spending that cash and more on pc instead, simply
here proof
1189pln so 285usd
Yep.
Plus actual ownership of digital games is a thing on PC, you can keep offline installers from GoG forever.
Steam on the other hand compared to PS Store has actual refund options, you can return games you don't like AFTER playing them (you have to know you don't like the game before downloading it on PS, lol).
Sony has monopoly and they are greedy motherfuckers in the last few years.
Physical is no. 1 but no. 2 is PC DD, consoles are far below on the list...
I would say "actual ownership" would mean you can resell the license, but beyond that, I agree 100%. This is why I only use physical on console unless with a subscription.
lol I remember that. I don't think the remote was easy to find either. Yea Sony needs to figure this out.Still nobody mentioning why the "conglomerate" had the same stock issues with a charging dock at PS5 launch. That's just some damn cables wrapped in plastic to charge your controller. People don't invent a conspiracy for that one. Just that they sold out quick and they were manufacturing them slower than people were buying them up.
In the USA you could easily have bought one up until a few days before the Pro came out.Yeah I don't get it. Readily available. Even just before the reveal the rumors were saying no drive. I don't give any sympathy.
Yeah, discs are unbeatable. You can't do shit with digital games, other than selling account?

I don't even know if this is possible, there is a region limitation right?
There's been no stock update in weeks or am I wrong?Selling out within minutes in the UK, absolute joke.
No it's Sony dissapointing us once again. There's been no stock update in weeks or am I wrong?

Where is it selling out perchance? I've got email alerts at like 3 retailers and the stock checker page says there's been nothing this week.Selling out within minutes in the UK, absolute joke.
I caved in an brought it for £150 from Ebay - HFW and Spiderman 2 discs were just waiting to be played.Where is it selling out perchance? I've got email alerts at like 3 retailers and the stock checker page says there's been nothing this week.
Why are you even in here other than to shit it up with you PCMR tardation and damage control?Nothing to say?

Wait until Apple bankrolls Sony and they buy Sega and Konami.... We're all getting tattoosDamage control for what? That Sony had no problem making ~40 milion drives for PS5 and slim and now they can't manufacture them anymore?
All I see are fools defending every anti consumer move from Sony. Almost like apple fanboys...

Bro, every fucking brand fantard does this on here and everywhere for their favorite toys. Don't be an obtuse and intellectually dishonest retard.
