I can’t play or buy the evil within from PSN. I guess it’s on Extra but I’m only on essential so now it’s locked and I can’t even buy it. PSN can be such a clusterfuck.

Mine should be here in a few hours - I'm pretty excited, which I didn't really expect when the thing first got announced.
That said, transferring my Metaphor save over would be a pain and I'm at the end anyway, so I'm probably just going to finish that up before unboxing the Pro. But it's gonna be rad when I'm ready to go.

Thanks. No, that TV-stand is actually Finnish design made by Hiipakka. Much nicer than Ikea, but unfortunately ten times more expensive too.
Edit: ...and hundred times more difficult to assemble.

Part of the Pro club for the first time!
3 hours to copy save data for some reason. Ridiculous. Tried hardwiring both PS5’s in to the router but wouldn’t pick each other up so had to go wireless.
Just moved my games on to NVME and transferred over before I even switched on.
Rebirth is on the agenda for tonight. Can’t wait.

The saves are all backed up in the cloud, there is absolutely no reason to do that 3 hour transfer.

Data transfer failed with 28 minutes ago. Said that it was canceled because some of the data couldn't be transferred.
Any ideas?

All your experiences with data transfer are awful. I’ll just rely on the cloud for saves and install games again.

My brother got us one from Walmart. Going to pack up the ps5 slim and give it to my son for Xmas.
Dragons Dogma 2, wow impressive upgrade. Fortnite, looks better but have to put side by side to tell. New Dragon’s Age, fuck if I can tell.
I am not a smart man, probably not worth the $$ but I will be going back to Dragons Dogma 2 by far my most played game of the year.

I can’t even get the data transfer to work - regardless of WiFi or LANFirst thoughts:
-One of the lamest unbloxing experiences ever
-Completely silent, no coil whine or anything
-Surprisingly small
-Damn, transfering data with wifi is
Edit: Sony is listening. As soon as I posted it started to work. Connected both consoles together with a cat6 cable, and both consoles to WiFi. Estimated 15 minutes for transfer of ~100GB saves and system data

Edit: Wow at the overall difference. Game does have this AI sharpening filter look but never feels overdone, obviously its nowhere near those pc mods but the jump in picture quality is more than noticeable and mostly a big plus. Downloading DS1 now and BB

Screw the wifi transfer...
I have gig fiber and everything is set to sync automatically. I'm just going to download the games I'll be playing today and sync that data.
Before bed I'll download the rest.
Am I the only one still waiting? Original delivery time wss 9AM, then 11, then 3, now between 5 and 7.

I’m not counting but I’ve seen various errors in several threads. Good to know it all ended well for you, tho. I’ll give it a try.
System transfer went mostly well for me, backed up everything to the m.2 ssd beforehand. Inserted the drive into the Pro afterwards and an error popped up saying there were duplicate games on the drive and gave me an option to shut the console or delete the games. Turns out I had transferred Astro's Playroom over to the m.2 ssd and since it was already installed on the console from the factory the ssd one had to go.

DF were pretty scathing about the packaging overall about this; the actual materials, the lack of stand, the lack of disc drive etc all screamed profiteering by Sony in their eyes, and I think it shaped some of their opinions on their review of the console.

The disc drive comes with a pair of extra long plastic stands apparently. I don't like how the console rocks to one side when you hold the left side down (when horizontal) to plug/unplug a usb cable. This is without the disk drive btw. Guess I need to hold the console down in the middle and insert the cables in cross-handed Seth Killian-style.
