Now the subject is multiplatform sales?

You tell me, you're the one saying real world sales are more important than people's opinions via polls 🤷‍♂️

And going by sales, we can see what's the real GoTY in 2024.

You wish you were Nutella, but what is this thread celebrating? The fact that these games are coming to PS5 is due to the PS5 sales numbers. What are the xbox usuals like yourself celebrating in this thread though? "My company is making those PS5 games"?

Mofo's can't even celebrate good games coming out without applying caveats to it now? smh we've really lost the plot in all this warring, haven't we?

Hype is a fickle thing.

They launch a trailer for Elder Scrolls VI and the hype shoots through the roof.

I don't know, man. Bethesda hasn't released an actual good game in almost 15 years, they can't keep riding the waves of Skyrim's success forever. At some point the "hey we made that cool game you liked 15 years ago" stops having an effect, especially considering their track record since.

How can anyone be excited for a Bethesda game after Fallout 4, Fallout 76 and Starfield?

More like because of Xbox sales numbers, but idc either way. I’ve never given a shit about Xbox games being multi platform. Carry on, soldier.

He’s going to be like one of those Vietnamese and Japanese soldiers, war has been over for decades and he’ll still be hiding in the jungle, wiping his ass with his hands, fighting the war.

Historically multiplatform games like Doom, Elder Scrolls and others will come to PS5 likely day and date with Xbox.

Exclusive 1st party games (new IP's) like South of Midnight and Avowed will stay Xbox exclusive....at least for a while (like Indy)

If you want to play these new games from MS, then pay a small fee and get them on Gamepass day one....or pay $70 on PS5.

Or.....for the others.......just wait 6 months when they come to PS5 and still pay $70.

So, Sony fanboys saying 'Just get a PS5 to play the Xbox games' are full of shit.

Caveats for what, what are you talking about?

This is very much a MS ball-licking article and you should know. From the article summary
reinforcing its position as a key part of Xbox's ecosystem.
Additionally, Microsoft is advancing in tech with features like a new in-game browser overlay for Windows 11 and AI-powered Windows search. They continue their partnership with OpenAI and plan to release new Surface devices, positioning 2025 as a pivotal year for Xbox and Microsoft.
it's not about "celebrating all the good multiplatform games coming out in 2025" otherwise there would be no need for the MS focus to begin with. Anyway, it's your boy Bumblebeetuna who is laughing at those celebrating sales numbers, all the while in a thread celebrating not even a specific game/product but MS the company.

"You're not that good, I just did bad, but idc"

Says the guy who was just warring.

Making Skyrim in space an exclusive and spending $70 billion is a strange and expensive way to be a third party publisher and developer. Good job phil

Inane post. Activision had a market value of $70bn, was third party and fully multiplatform.

Not sure what Starfield has to do with activision.

Woah woah woah. Fallout 4 is an extremely good game in comparison to Fallout 76 and Starfield. Heck Fallout 76 in it's current state is 300% better than Starfield IMHO. Yeah yeah I know, I'm gaslighting. So what! What YOU gonna do about it eh?

Are you ok, bro? My post doesn’t imply anything about Sony being good or bad. Oh wait let me borrow your warrior glasses.

Damn I still don’t see it. Maybe stop being so easily triggered.
Maybe you're totally blind then so your glasses do nothing? I said the games are getting ported to the console because the console sales are good then your reply was more like xbox sales numbers are bad.

it's not about "celebrating all the good multiplatform games coming out in 2025" otherwise there would be no need for the MS focus to begin with.

There is an MS focus because it was written just after the Xbox developer direct where even more 2025 GamePass games were revealed, and launch dates provided for anticipated titles.

This comes against the backdrop of literally years of people (rightfully) criticizing Xbox for not being able to get out games at a regular cadence from their first party studios and publishing efforts. They’ve gone years with poor software and services revenue thanks to anaemic software output.

And now they’ve seemingly got their ducks in a row and are forecasting the release of at least 8 first party games in 2025, it’s suddenly not worth the mention because most of the games are releasing on PlayStation too…as if they won’t count revenue from games being released on competing hardware.

It’ll be a terrible year for Xbox hardware if last year is any indication. But the clear forecast is for significantly improved software output…and yes that includes even more ports to Sony and Nintendo consoles including likely strong support for Switch 2 at launch.

Maybe you're totally blind then so your glasses do nothing? I said the games are getting ported to the console because the console sales are good then your reply was more like xbox sales numbers are bad.

And I replied that if Xbox sales were better, MS wouldn’t be porting games to other consoles the way they are planning to now. Why does that offend you? It’s common sense and it’s not meant to downplay PS at all. It’s MS’s fault the Xbox isn’t doing well. You took a plain comment and went full warrior on it. Again, hope everything is ok. Go get a hug.

You took a plain comment about PS doing well and went full warrior with it earlier by laughing with "but sales". When I said that good PS sales are why it's getting ports you deflected again about "that's xbox doing bad" rather than PS doing well because you couldn't come to terms with the idea of those good sales actually meaning something tangible. Now go touch some grass.

…as if they won’t count revenue from games being released on competing hardware.
So yippee MS is getting revenue from PS5 games is what we're celebrating, yes? Now you get it I hope. Now tell me why does this excite you? Is it less or more laughable or tangible than celebrating the sales of hardware?

Calling my post inane but not being able to comprehend how yours makes zero sense. They spent 70b to make CoD exclusive. They made Starfield exclusive because that was the plan going forward. They failed. There is no point in buying studios with already established ips to keep them multi plat. Now they are inside of the results of that failure. Nobody wants their consoles and they will be putting actual Xbox games like gears and halo on PlayStation.

Pretending multiplat revenue is something to celebrate is a new low. Like this was their plan all along when in reality it's a fallback pivot at best. Plus it's made easier when you're backed by microsoft.

The “sales” was making fun of Lost guy, how the fuck is that any kind of warrior mentality 😆😆

Jesus. Not even going to bother with the rest.

Why are you being salty at a Verge article that talks about Xbox studios/publishing finally delivering games?

Can’t you just be normal?

Elder Scrolls 6 is their last chance or they will be Biowared.

Genuinely befuddled at the people who think of this turn of events as great for Xbox when this is actually Plan C for them.

If being a big 3P publisher was their objective all along, then they could have bought all these publishers ages ago and saved a lot of money and time in the process.

Xbox as a console brand is dead, selling less than 4m units in only its 4th year on the market, leaving sony with the whole high end console space to themselves and getting all but Nintendo games on their platform.
