Ultimately human relationships have a connection that is hard to quantify, rationalise, compartmentalise or categorise. I cant see how a machine can fulfil that until we understand this at a much deeper level, but it may help bridge a gap for folks

It probably won't. It will likely validate their already repugnant ideals about sex and sexual partners by being a literal personal echo chamber. AI girlfriends can't do things humans do like disagree with you or say something you don't like to hear, even tho sometimes those are necessary things.

Fortunately most of these folks already rarely go outside and interact with the world, so... a fool and his money and all that.
