have you actually played mon hun games prior to rise?

not only is wilds extremely streamlined but it's also literally a connected open world and the hunts work very differently to the original games.

I've played every MH since the 3DS.

Though I'm not sure why those ones are relevant. It's not any different than the game that came out in 2018 lol, the open world adds practically nothing to the experience over World other than decreased performance.
Same weapons, same movesets, mostly the same monsters.

But hey, you spend your $70 how you want.

I mean they're saving their best for next week but if the plan was to calm share holders down then I don't know if this did the job. Even as a show. Would you not have ended with metroid prime 4?

It's basically the only game worthwhile there lol

Overall pretty solid Direct, especially considering it's the last one Switch will have. Great send-off for the little miracle worker.

And considering they've already shown off MP4 and (somewhat) MK9, I'm more interested than ever in seeing what Nintendo and what seem to be some key 3P have cooking for Switch 2. Just one more week to start the next chapter 🥳🎉

Great, but its not a good way to end a Direct.

They ended with an app for providing daily updates on the Switch 2.

I think that's a good segue, and this was a quite solid Direct for Switch's EOL.

What a waste. Even Metroid Prime 4 looked underwhelming. All the rest was crap.
How did you get underwhelming from like a minute of gameplay in a single area with one new feature? Not really much to go on.

Wasn't expecting much but got more than I expected at least. Been wanting a new Tomadachi Life but jesus 2026?

Also wasn't thinking about a new Rythem Heaven but glad to see it coming.

That was an utter embarassment.
What was with that AI voiced slop at the end? And that shitty rythm thing?

The fact that you pointed out these two games specifically makes me unsure if you're being serious or not.

Did not expect any new announcement, let alone 2026 games. They’re definitely not letting Switch go anytime soon.

160M+ units sold is in the bag.
People have been waiting for a new Rhythm Heaven and Tomodachi Life forever. I wasn't expecting them in 2026 though.
Yeah the 2026 dates really surprised me too. I guess Nintendo still plans to support the current switch for a while after switch 2. I was kind of hoping to see a perma price drop on the current systems though.

oh No, that one is trash too, but this ? this is something else, i'll tell you something in 1994 i would be very excited with this presentation.

it's the "hey, the Switch 1 isn't dead yet" presentation.

I didn't expect even as much as they've shown.
who expected a new Everybody's Golf for example?

the Switch 2 direct is in a few days, so this was basically just a way to give the remaining Switch 1 releases some time to breath before the Switch 2 overshadows all these

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
Yeah, those were my highlights as well. Rythm Heaven is such a gem!

Very surprised we didn’t see Kirby, Fire Emblem or Prime 2/3 here though.
Yeah, I wish we had one other 1st-party reveal, even if it was a Zelda/Prime remaster.

My personal hopes for this direct were Prime 4 footage, a new Rhythm Heaven (!!!), and a new F-Zero or Star Fox. I got two out of three, and I honestly never expected a new Rhythm Heaven, so I’m pretty stoked. Though I’m bummed it’s a 2026 release 🫠

ah so you look at games reductively. Well as a netflix gamer I'm not surprised. Look if doing the same thing with no nuance to you is all gaming should be then enjoy.

MP4 looks very uninspiring not very interesting, it looks like a 2007 game with a HD coat of paint on and all i want is for them to show me something new, its only been 18 years, how could we possibly expect something new from our video games.

this virtual game card stuff seems to be both an improvement and a downgrade at the same time

while lending games is a great new feature, I wonder if this means signing in to a friends Switch to play your games will no longer work as it does now. this could be extremely annoying
But.. how do they know it's your switch or not? If you add the same accounts on 2 switches.

Who is anyone to know?

I don't know myself now because I don't do this but on the PS4 this is what we used to do.

Some of you guys are delusional. It was the final presentation for what will basically be a dead console by years end. Can’t imagine what you were expecting when the switch 2 is revealed in less than a week.

Very odd choice just nonchalantly revealing Prime 4 gameplay footage in the middle though.

there is no need for a direct to show this much trash, do a blog post and you are done, its the same with State of Play, i m tired of this snooze fest presentation, but thats just my opniopn, if it hyped you, good for you man.

I was expecting Nintendo to continue publishing games on Switch in 2026, but for them to be announced later.

It's very interesting. I think there's a real chance that all the games at the Switch 2 Direct are next-gen only.

Either I'm overly optimistic or a lot of you are overly jaded. This was a pretty good Direct, what else were you expecting for a system in its sunset year and about to be overshadowed by its successor?

Then again, I remember how many people thought the last State of Play was somehow trash, so yeah I just think a lot of you are super jaded 🤣
