It's not hyperbole or an overreaction if it's all true and in the game. There is no secret that the game is shit, and falls short on a lot of stuff, and that shouldn't excuse critical views because it's "beating a dead horse" or being to meme inducing. That's just asking for a echo chamber to have your opinions agreed with.

Lack of celebrity voices is a weird thing to harp on in the first place about this game - but there's literally Kumail Nanjiani and Natalie Dormer as two pretty central characters of this game.

I don't know how female Krogan are supposed to sound, but that voice was definitely not what I was expecting.

Honestly even the male Krogan sound too normal for being weird giant toad monsters.

Let's be honest, Male Ryder isn't exactly a beacon of facial animation quality either.

Yeah, it was a bit of jarring change for people because the only females Krogan we ever encountered were dressed in veils like Eve. So seeing a Krogan on the Nexus, who looks like a male Krogan, hearing her voice for the first time was a bit of a shock. After spending some time with them though, you can see that female Krogan have smooth crests on their heads and males have sharper ones. And you get used to their voices.

He's spot on about Banjo-Kazooie and -Tooie. I think I used to prefer Tooie when I was very young, but when I replayed the games in my teens, I noticed that I liked Kazooie a lot more due to it's simple design.

I was actually surprised that he said he didn't even know JonTron was in the game, since people seemed to think they're good friends, and some were worried Dunkey would also reveal himself to be a dickhead. Glad Dunkey still seems to be a decent person.

Maybe I watched another dunkview of YL, but he called Playtonic's decision weird and chose to make a joke that may be interpreted as "JT didn't really say that bad stuff". He also called out PT for doing PR about it (which may or may not be build-up for a "PT are the real racists" joke).

It seemed like the response of "he hates Andromeda therefore he only goes with the public consensus or only following a meme fad" is beginning to become a meme itself.

Like, it's like an automated response by so many Andromeda's fans to response to criticism with just "Fuck him, he's just a hater."

He could be defending him, but that's not what I took from it. His complaints about Playtonic were pretty dumb though.

yep, easily the worst dunkey vid yet that i've seen. the game may be terrible (yet to play it) but i couldn't help but feel he had a bone to pick with Playtonic for dropping Jon :/

edit: just saw that there was a whole topic on the vid that was locked. didn't mean to fuel the fire, i hadn't seen the conversation.

You don't know why Playtonic, either as a group of individuals who are opposed to racism or as a business that doesn't want to do business with a controversial figure, might care? Especially if they are asked about the subject as they were? People obviously knew Jon was in the game before he was removed and more people would have learned this fact if it was found out he wasn't removed. Because of the spotlight Jon's recent fuckery shone on everything he touched, the cat was going to come out of the bag no matter what. If the choice is "get heat for kicking an overt racist in your game" or "get heat for leaving an overt racist in your game" isn't the first the only moral choice? This is of course to say nothing of consumers who may feel uncomfortable about supporting a product they know gives a role to an out and out racist? It's obviously not about his voice :p

Some of yall need to take a deep breath if you actually thought dunkey was remotely defending jontron in that video.

Sucks that he found the game so unever/disappointing, waiting for my backer switch version. Hopefully YL1 does well enough for a refined sequel.

It sounds to me like dunkey made fun of the incident at Jon's expense. I wouldn't expect him to make a serious comment on this, he's only made like 1 serious video.

People on Gaf can get pretty sensitive. Dunks ain't even defend old dude just did his normal schtick and kept it moving. Prolly thought he was a trump supporter after the Trump vid.

I feel like people are just trying to take anything they can as "defending jon" purely to start shitshows like this, up to attributing some random persons tweet to Total Biscuit and taking a simple joke as a huge statement. Christ...

But yeah, game don't look too good. I kinda regret backing this now, though I'm getting a good amount of fun while it lasts. You can really feel that slapdash polish, even early on.

I was listening to a podcast with Jirard the finishist, and he seemed very distraught about everyone involved with Normal Boots being thrown into the same boat as Jon. Getting harassed because of it etc.
