Then he interviews black people based on these claims and they claim that it's all ignorance (with a slight racism).

That’s exactly the kind of nonsense that happens far too often. I’ll admit, there are plenty of people in my community who are (not unjustifiably) paranoid about “the white man”, and I put that in quotes because the idea itself is flawed. There are so many different nationalities and backgrounds that treating white people as a monolithic group doesn’t make sense. Admittedly for some people in my community**, the belief is that making life harder at every turn is part of some larger conspiracy.

But for the most part, it’s white liberals, or other groups not entirely connected to the “Black community” (which I also put in quotes, because simply sharing a skin color doesn’t make us all the same either), who are making the loudest noise. Meanwhile, people who actually look like me end up having to argue our way out of positions we don’t even hold, because apparently someone already spoke for us.

I'm inclined to believe the LGBTQ+ community is facing a similar issue. Nearly every bisexual, gay & lesbian person I know doesn’t care if a stranger uses the “wrong” pronoun, they see it as a non-issue, because to them, it’s just some random person who doesn’t know them anyway.

The gaming industry might be experiencing something similar, with certain development studios making a strong push for inclusivity aimed at a demographic that isn’t a majority by any measure, ultimately making that representation seem more prominent than the group itself even asks for. The same argument could be made in politics as well.

**By “my community,” I mean the people who actually live around me that I interact with daily, not Black people from across the entire planet.

Of course, it goes without saying that these are just my opinions, and I could be completely wrong.

One REALLY silly idea Marvel had, was to have all the major dark skinned characters they had in comics to end up working together. The issue being that nearly none of them had any reason to have anything to do with each other because they are all from different walks of life. You might as well expect all Asians to have each other on speed-dial.

That also seems to be assuming that readers would only read about characters with the same skin tone as them.

You can bet that they’ll show a cool Redguard as the poster promotional material for Elder Sxrolls VI just like they did for the Nord in Skyrim, Imperial for Oblivion, Dummer for Morrowind etc.
