But literally nothing happens in GJ-bu. It has fewer punchlines than Seitokai no Ichizon. It's my Seitokai Yakuindomo fix.
How'd you wind up with 41 wives at only level 287, anyway? All the waifus!
But literally nothing happens in GJ-bu. It has fewer punchlines than Seitokai no Ichizon.
(I watch it out of OCD )
Yeah, I realized that I couldn't unlock cards with coins because they are trying to scam you by giving you shitty gifts, so I figured that getting more characters was a better use of the coins. How'd you wind up with 41 wives at only level 287, anyway?
I guess you spent coins on wife slots?
I honestly don't think anything was particularly funny in this episode. It was just girls being moe. Chess girl wants to step on the guy and is embarrassed, tea girl has a hairgasm, green girl is annoying, and meat girl doesn't like vegetables. I guess it's more honest than Haganai at least. lolSeitokai no Ichizon Lv. 2 and its first season in that respect, bored me much much more than GJ-bu. I can only think of a one or two of GJ-bu skits that I wanted to skip till now, granted its still ongoing.
Though the currently ongoing last 2 episodes of Seitokai no Ichizon Lv. 2 has been quite good, I still prefer the GJ-bu crew and its slow delivery.
I mean, he should've been more proactive but still, it's just gotta hurt so bad.Thank God someone else mentioned this. I was starting to worry that I was the only one who has a heart.
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
I think that one thing that contributes to the film's instant masterpiece status is the number of scenes that immediately feel iconic. There's the twoscenes, which make masterful use of editing, sound design, and animation to create truly memorable setpieces. There's also the scene where Makoto first learns how to time leap, with the skipping stone, the scene wherebike on the train crossing, and of course the penultimate scene and thetime freezes. There's a certain power to a finely-crafted story told within the confines of a feature-length film; you run the gamut of emotions from laughing to crying, and you feel like know the characters personally after a brief ninety minutes together. Such a remarkable movie.faux kiss
I'm quite surprised you haven't watched this till now.The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
That was what I was going for while watching this anime, much less for the comedy and more for the cute.I honestly don't think anything was particularly funny in this episode. I still think the live action movie did the whole time travel gimmick in a more interesting way.
But I'll admit that having the girlmakes for a more interesting story.travel back through time herself
I'm quite surprised you haven't watched this till now.
He has. He's rewatching all the Hosada movies because of the furry movie coming up.I'm quite surprised you haven't watched this till now.
Well, I guess if that's what you're there for... But at that point, you might as well rewatch K-On!!, which has moe and storytelling. lolThat was what I was going for while watching this anime, much less for the comedy and more for the cute.
Well, maybe it does, I can't say. But I strongly doubt it's as well-directed, edited, or acted as Hosoda's film is.
I'm really gonna have to rewatch this soon. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

The girl who voiced the girl in the anime also starred as the girl in the live action film.

Which live-action? The recent one or the 80's original?
Hosoda's TGWLTT is very nearly an original work anyway. There's not much left in the movie that connects it to the original work outside the title, themes and minor riff raff.
Read more carefully.
My bad.He has. He's rewatching all the Hosada movies because of the furry movie coming up.
The new one... which is also a spinoff of the original in some way, I believe. I actually posted about it here way back when.Which live-action? The recent one or the 80's original?

Well, it's not like I remember the specifics of either film beyond their premises and how they handled the science fiction gimmick. At the very least, the motivations are a lot clearer in the live action film which results in a much more effective ending. But voice-acting /= live-action acting. Plus actors are only as good as their director- see any George Lucas film.
Ah, for me unlocking cards on characters I actually like is the whole point, haha.Yeah, I realized that I couldn't unlock cards with coins because they are trying to scam you by giving you shitty gifts, so I figured that getting more characters was a better use of the coins.
Like I said, it's all about min/maxing!
Wolf Children definitely a Hosoda masterpiece
Wolf Children is the true Hosoda masterpiece.
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time second half and ending is flawed.
Yep! It's why I almost thought that the anime and the movie were related. lolI had to look this up. Holy shit, you're right.
o.o
I did not know this. My mind is blown.
Hey, you're still alive. And we agree apparently. lolWolf Children is the true Hosoda masterpiece. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time second half and ending is flawed.
If I was willing to spend money on the characters knowing that I would lose at least half my investment in being "scammed" by the RNG, that would probably make sense. lolAh, for me unlocking cards on characters I actually like is the whole point, haha.

I mean, if I remember correctly, there's no real reason why the guy can't stay or why she can't go with him back to the future in the anime, is there?
Hmm. Well, I'll just say that the live action has a similar situation, but the girl is in Chiaki's position and... well, I'll say that the ending is also mono no aware, so the outcome of that particular story point is pretty obvious. lolI don't think the mechanics of time-travel are ultimately important, because any backwards time-travel doesn't make sense anyway. I think the implication is that.you have to go back to your "original" time when your charges are used up, and Chiaki got in trouble with whoever is in charge of time travel because he used it to save two people who were in trouble because another person was messing with time
I've barely been in the house. And all my free time is spent reading and playing TERA.:3Hey, you're still alive. And we agree apparently. lol
Maybe she was dropped on her head when she was young (well, either that or shinkai writing at its "finest"). Movie looks pretty amazing visually though so fingers crossed.Tsk tsk, Shinkai has sold out. He's just making movies which pander to pedophiles and otaku with weird fetishes.
What's happening to that foot?Tsk tsk, Shinkai has sold out. He's just making movies which pander to pedophiles and otaku with weird fetishes.

I guess if you have a foot fetish, that's the job to get.The boy designs and makes shoes apparently.

Girl Who Leapt Through time has been sitting on my shelf for a while now.
I should probably watch it before uni starts

Neogaf. Are there any websites that you guys trust for reviewing anime old and current? I'm always wary when reading about the older shows that the nostalgia effect is in place with the reviewer.
No.Also, are there any informative, witty, and well-written blogs about anime and its culture? Something a casual could dip into and still enjoy?
(NB: If you think there exist more than seven videogames with good writing, I don't personally consider you qualified to answer this question)
Finally, are there any internet places offering a more academic slant on its analysis? You know, beyond the usual thinking that Neon Genesis Evangelion has philosophical depth or something because it has Christian references and angsty soliloquies.
I'm really gonna have to rewatch this soon.

We should all rewatch this.
Uh-oh...

Neogaf.
No.
Refer to firehawk12.
2001 Space Odyssey:
I hate firehawk and pizzaroll by association.
I think we can all learn something from this.I mean, he should've been more proactive but still, it's just gotta hurt so bad.
Haly thinks there are more than 7 videogame stories that are good. Ignore him.
I hate you so much. lolWorld of Warcraft has the best story of any game, because the greatest stories are the ones we make for ourselves.
/firehawk12
Well, you can think there are more than 7 good stories. It's the writing of said stories that I tend to find lacking.Haly thinks there are more than 7 videogame stories that are good. Ignore him.
