I couldn't get past the first couple hours. I found this game hella confusing.

Is this one of them "it gets good after 40 hours" games?

Definitive Edition, ey? Is the boob slider in or once again scrubbed from the western release?
Wait they took out the boob slider in a wiiu early 2010s game? When did this come out, during mee too period? As I can't see it happening. Every older rpg with a character creator had chest size. Only in recent times with dragon age woke guard do you see that removed (or only two sizes flat and man boob).

I'd like to present the problem:

It was bad enough when they changed stuff for the western releases, but at some point Nintendo started taking their feedback for actual development of the games. Maybe the very first Sweet Baby department for gaming.

Can someone tell me how this "X" is different than base Xenoblade chronicles and it's 2 sequels? I own 1 and 2, but I haven't play 1 yet and xb2 was so boring with its system over top system, which didn't help as it played like an action rpg without the actual button combat that you would get from something like tales of, star ocean or the more 1 to 1 combat of Y's.

So much didn't make sense of xeno2. Should I eventually give this series another go? If so would this game be better to start with or the first xenoblade?
X's battle system is more similar to 1, but greatly expanded. If you like the battle system of 1, you'll enjoy this more. It's more customizable and has more options.

This is the only Xeno that I haven’t beaten despite trying to like it several times.

I’ll give it one more shot.

That’s being said, who is that dude at the end acting like Kingdom Hearts?

The added story elements has me excited, as from what I understand, X's original story was left incomplete?

Similar to Suikoden 4?

Confirmed via Gematsu

According to a note on the Japanese official website, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is based on the western version of Xenoblade Chronicles X.

day 1

also the switch 2 is never coming out lmao
My guess is that it's gonna be Switch 2 launch title

It kinda ends on a cliffhanger. Introduces some new mystery in the final scene in the game.
LOL not just cliffhanger. Not one mystery is solved.

I hope they add those stories, this might be unpopular opinion but I wouldn't mind they scraped the MP in favour of the story.
I want this too.
So it was part of the original?
IIRC, that scene is in the original, but the hooded man doesn't speak and wears a different outfit.

I actually liked the multiplayer. I do hope they expand the story though. And I hope they finally tell you WTF was up with L’Curife

Dude just shows up out of nowhere in the middle of the jungle and claims to be a Mira native even though his civilization is nowhere to be found, and they just invite him in to New LA without even the slightest curiosity about who the hell he is or where he’s from

I personally never in to MP games so to me its feature I will never use and hated the fact it got in way of us getting more complete story.

And here I don't buy games because they don't get English dubs. Do you speak Japanese? I never understood how some can want another language you don't understand. I personally don't like it and the only time I'm OK with it is something like yakuza as it takes place in Japan with Japanese people. Then again i don't watch anime, but have been playing rpgs since dragon warrior/quest on the nes. It wasn't until the late ps3/vita era that companies cheaper out. I'd rather read text, like on ps1 and have no voice except battle vo, imo.

Like the baten Kaitos 1&2 remaster I never played it and was hyped when I saw a sale only to find out they had dubs and they took them out. Just like that they lost an instant sale.
English is not my native language and it sounds so horrible to me in anime and anime derived content that I rather skip the whole thing than having to go through that, it really is unsettling, unmatching, I just can't stand it.

I can understand a little of Japanese to the point of knowing if what's being said is what is being put in subtitles most of the time, but language is not only for understanding words, it also carries an acoustic, rhythm, some kind of musicality, it's not just got understanding what's being said, that's why it hits me so hard when the wrong language or voice acting is in place.

On Wii U, that game only had English voices, the only way I would play it in that case would be downloading an iso and putting it a mod to change VA or not play it at all, I'd purchase it in the store just to give Nintendo money for the game at least... But only after I make sure the game can be modded in an emulator.

Nintendo decided to put a few extra bullets into the back of the Wii U when it was on the way with a lot heavy censorship in its last major core gamer releases. Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Xenoblade X, and Fatal Frame all got hit hard. As much as I dislike their output on the Switch at the very least they stopped pulling that crap.

This is when NOA still have that "family friendly" image. NOA really sucks.
Nintendo Japan doesn't have this. I remember about the Link costume in Bayonetta 1 not revealing enough for Nintendo lol

I never played this game but I remember the music that accompanied the reveal trailer and I think it is the best non-Uematsu/Mistuda video game music I have ever heard. If I'm not mistaken it ended up being the Start menu soundtrack.

Yup, Theme X

Sawano is more famous in anime scene. He made banger music

Without spoilers, can someone explain how the game used the Wii U touchscreen? Or was it like Donkey Kong and just ignored the second screen.

So is this game going to be forward-compatible with Switch 2 and have a higher res and 60 fps on the upcoming console?

Seems pretty wild to be planning a game to release in March 2025 on the last gen machine when we all know the next gen machine is likely coming soon

This game was also notoriously censored for the Western release, I wonder if today's Nintendo will uncensor it? They didn't do jack shit for Tokyo MIrage Sessions IIRC

Already confirmed that the base is the US version.

I paid good money for this Dynex!

I didn't realize there were improvements when I watched the trailer, but they're definitely there. The faces look quite a bit better (though I suppose that's pretty subjective.) Not the night and day difference that Xenoblade Chronicles vs. the remaster had, but still pretty dramatic.

I'm getting more excited to give this game another go-round.

See that’s where I think y’all are crazy. I actually love the NLA themes. I know they’re a little crazy but I grew to love them. Sometimes I hang out in NLA just to jam. It took 60 hours, but something changed in me and it grew on me, somehow.
Standing in front of the crafting terminal for far too long is where it got to me. I can't have NLA without the music.
