Zenimax Strike: Bethesda and ID studios, Complaints about Outsourcing Quality Assurance

Staff who are members of ZeniMax Workers United-CWA are on a one-day strike to call out Microsoft for an alleged lack of progress at the bargaining table over remote work and for allegedly unilaterally outsourcing quality assurance work without bargaining with the union.

Today's strike takes place at four ZeniMax locations across Maryland and Texas, with workers set to return to their desks tomorrow.

edit: Strike is also for keeping remote work. Forgot to mention that part. Remote work and outsourcing QA.

Get the unions to lobby on your behalf in order to get acquisions over the line - - > those same unions result in your newly acquired staff striking instead of being productive and doing their jobs.

FAFO.

Hahaha, it's kind of brilliant.

MS man and this shit outsourcing. They may never learn.

Whenever Windows Central try to distract us it's always something, but I don't think this is the news they're trying to get ahead of .

Given the recent achievements of the ZeniMax team, I think Microsoft may make some concessions and cut a few dozen jobs.

This is a joke... just in case...

1 day strike to demand to work from home. I personally would just fire them all.
It's not about firing people. it was the idea/narrative that these studios under MS were going to be able to level up/reach their maximum potential.

"unlimited budget"
"technical support"
"creative freedom"
...

clearly xbox/MS has been a negative force in all these acquisitions.

Bethesda union workers on strike?

The studio with possibly the most buggy games asking for more remote work and less QA outsourcing?

Sounds kind of opposite to me.

Funny how union demands often seem to come from workers who do a meh job. You’d think high wages, job security or remote work privileges would be demands from workers who do a great job.

That would be like a benchwarmer on a pro sports team asking for best pay and no trade clause.

Not sure who is worse at it microsoft or Bugthesda
Not sure any company has QA anymore. It's patch after patch after endless patch now. Not to mention, the games are released incomplete. I mean, I don't want to go back to when there was no patching pre-internet. But now it's just gone full on stupid.
