Elon Musk: It would be fun and interesting to do to start a video game studio

Total waste. I'd rather he focus on non-entertainment technology.
Right, consistency matters, he sold his game at a very young age, he's not really into this stuff anymore, he's just a talker and play games once in a while, if that counts credential then you can't take people's words seriously.

He's annoying but why not. It's surprised he hasn't already. Or, open a studio in China to avoid the activist culture in US studios. He's got the the money.

If he starts a game studio, a thousand bucks says the main protagonist in every game has an X in their name. He's obsessed with the damn letter x.

Not after the disaster that is Concord.

Art direction and character design makes or breaks these games. You make appealing characters to hetero men and they will give it a chance. You notice how you don't hear badmouthing of the designs in that new Marvel hero shooter. I wonder why.

No thanks.

As far as I've seen, a lot of the people who explicitly get into a creative space to make a political or anti-political statement, don't make good stuff. I don't want woke stuff in games but I ALSO don't want stuff in games that's deliberately being anti-woke to combat woke content.

I don't. Want. ANY. Modern day. Culture war politics. In my games.

PERIOD!

I agree but there is nothing suggesting he would do that.

Stereotypes are still an important part of the gaming industry.

I mean it's kind of his brand at this point TBH, and a lot of his posts/activity on Twitter/X is political. So if he's involved in the process (and this is gaming, a creative medium; he'd be involved in some aspect of the process for sure beyond just management backend stuff), then chances are his politics'd become a part of the game too.

He's already selling the pitch off a political angle as-is. I'm just tired of modern idpol politics in games in general but that includes both woke and anti-woke stuff.

He's been very successful at most things he's done. Chances are he would/could put together a successful team of game developers and let them do their thing.

Nah how about we make normal games again instead of shifting from leftwing propaganda to rightwind propaganda, same shit, other side of the coin.

Dude almost single-handedly made the electric car industry a reality, then went on to build a rocket that could take people to space without depending on Russia. And did it years faster than Boeing (who was considered the obvious front runner while Spacex was a long shot).
Yeah, such great achievements! Except...

He was an early investor in SpaceX, sure. It was a good bet, and SpaceX does really good work. I would wager his engineering chops have contributed fuck all, but that's a solid company.

When it comes to Tesla though. He was a later investor. And, sued the company to get the title of founder.

The former CEO (initial, actual founder) just decided the lawsuit was not worth his time. But Musk most definitely did not found Tesla.

This dude just can not do enough stuff all at once any given time, definitely out of this world. Anyway I'd love to see where would he go with it if this happens eventually.

He almost lost his ass keeping Tesla afloat and eventually turned it into the world's most valuable car company. Does it matter whether he founded it?
