In 2025, with realistic graphics, game developers still don't know how to make romantic scenes. At most, they're depraved.

I think Final Fantasy X's is well-crafted, the situation that leads to the romance is well-written. The romance option with Liara in Mass Effect 2 is also well-written, so much so that it seems canon, as the others are bad.

I'm currently playing Dragon Age Inquisition and the romance with Josephine has been interesting, considering she's a refined young lady. But I don't see where it's going.

In more modern games, it seems like everything is about sex, there is no romance. This may be a reflection of today's society.

At least Shadows seems to have now real quest lines for their romances. Odyssey had the worst "romances" i have ever seen in a video game. Some random dudes/chicks asking for a quickie around the corner. That was it. 4 lines text. WTF!
