Not sure I like the new quests design. Its either here or here or here

I mean its alright with scouts and pushing exploration but for quest design not sure about it yet

It's a neat idea in concept but in practice it's just going to the general area and pressing L2 looking for the blue indicator.

The hints are just too abstract to organically find these people.

Yeah okay?? Either commit to this system and make it 100 times more robust, or don't do it at all. But now it's so half-baked.

Would be neat if you had to actually talk to one of your scouts somewhere in the world, he gives a location, you go there. Talk to some people, they point you in a direction.

Yeah, I've seen them too. Simply hilarious idiots:messenger_tears_of_joy:

Oh well, we've plenty of people like this even today, 5 centuries later.

ac shadows runs incredibly smooth

The game needs some serious performance patches on PC, not to mention permanet fix for Direct Storage and NVMe issues causing BSODs left and right - I had plenty of them.

Im quite surprised by the great pc optimization. Indeed no weird stutter issues or massive drops. Even Odyssey still runs mediocre on my pc, but this game runs way better.

I decided to turn on FG and even though I was hesistant, because in some other games Ive seen massive ghosting, in this game its really nice. Doesnt seem to add a lot of input delay and my frames have gone from 50-55 to around 80

I have a rtx 3070, amd ryzen 5700x and 32gb ram.

Playing on 1440p with most settings in high

I was thinking of this game and AC2 Brotherhood, how awesome would it be if you could have your own castle, where you train assassins like ninja's, you sent them out on missions and you can call them in like your assassins in Brotherhood. A simple whistle and 2/3 ninja pop out of the bushes at your command.

Why couldnt Ubisoft make it like that cmon mannnnnnnn

probably because nobunaga used a giant army to wipe out the iga clan/ninja; you don't really get a good sense of the scale in the intro with yasuke, but there were only a few thousand iga, while nobunaga marched in with like 40 thousand troops and absolutely annihilated them; they recover a bit after he dies and seemingly assist ieyasu, but in the time period we're playing, naoe would be practically alone.

Fully agree. You either commit or drop it all together. Abusing observe isnā€™t it just to make me go places

Which falls under you donā€™t decide my exploration. I do it whenever I feel like it

Theyā€™ll need to patch the hideout to 60fps for me to consider a purchase. Thatā€™s absolutely jarring to me, hopefully they can fix that soon.

Yyyyyyyyep.

Let's put this into perspective. You know which game did it way better - TESIII: Morrowind 23 years ago (!!!!). How did it work there? Well, you literally talked to a person and he said something like (not word for word)- "Oh, so you need to find this town, eh? Well, follow this road, then move right, walk 10m until you see this thing, then go straight 50m and you'll be right there". So what we have here, a person who's giving you some visual information which will guide you to your objective and it was easy to follow cuz of the visual stuff. What do we have in Shadows? Oh, it's / he / she southwest of here, somewhere around stables etc. which sometimes works but 99% of the time simply doesn't cuz there's nothing in the game and on the actual map to guide you.

How would you know where the stables are? How would you know where the tea sellers are? How would you know where you can buy a dress for the tea party (no, you literally can't buy it, NO, YOU CAN'T). So what we have is a half working hint system which gets in your way and it should help you instead, which it does not do right now, unfortunately. So what you end up doing if you just don't want for it to literally show it on the map if you don't want to use scouts... you just press the left trigger and look for the fuckin' dots... which is stupid way of doing it, but the only way if you want to have some kind of field work and... ffs, some sense of discovery.

Yeah, I guess S, W, N, E directions can work, sure, and I literally found what I needed that way, but they seriously need to look at how people did it in an almost prehistoric game by today's standards which did it ways better. Just sayin'. Like, we know they'll be supporting the game for years to come and they literally changed how SW Outlaws worked, so I can't see how they can't fix some things that don't work in Shadows so well, especially considering that it already has NPSs that can share rumors and stuff with you, so let us help people that way too and learn visual directions, all you need is to write some dialogues for that.

it goes in step and each step narrows the search area, so first you go to the area where they say it's in, then from there you look for the second thing, then you look for the third thing.
-in the south west region
--alright I'm here what's next
-north of the [named] temple
--alright looking for a temple with this name
-by a big tree
--alright time to head north until I find the tree

Haven't had any problem finding things and I don't use scouts either.

Everybody keeps comparing this to Ghost of Tsushima but I propose the following: the Ghost of Yotei devs have some HUGE shoes to fill in terms of environment and lighting because this game just knocks it out of the park.

And none of the lighting is baked, it's all realtime and dependent on season and time of day and whatever.

The changing seasons alone should make this a GOTY contender in terms of technical achievement. I've never seen anything like this before, it's unbelievable how amazingly integrated the seasonal changes are. Truly a next-gen experience.

Yasuke and all that dumb shit aside, this game is an incredible technical accomplishment.

One thing I just found out that is really cool, when crawling, if you press circle and move the joystick to the sides, Naoe will roll to the sides very quick, this is very useful if you are being seeing by the enemy and you roll to the side and enter tall grass.

I messed around with that on day one. You can also do a forward roll and she goes right back to crawling which is great for moving quickly between areas where there is no grass.

Tried playing some in 40fps mode but o went back to 30. It just looks better on pro, hideout and cutscenes are locked anyway.
Man when the wind gets going, overcast weather, thunderstorm. What a game.

Game is very addicting. I am like 10 hours in. The way I play it will take forever :p I am only level 11.
I spent hours clearing some castles that had nothing to do with main story so there is that. In am on my way to kill the 2nd target thoā€¦ did all the tea stuff first.

Is it just me or are the cutscene character models really lacking compared to the rest of the environment? They are incredibly soft with flicker everywhere. They sometimes look straight out of a ps3 game. I don't get it...

I have a question about engravings at blacksmith.
If I put a damage perk(like +20 armorpiercing) on a hatā€¦ does it still affect my weapon used?!
Or does it have to be on a katana?

And if I donā€™t use tanto at all, should I also upgrade it and put engravings on it? Or are those only applied to tanto ?!?!

I kinda get what you are saying. It feels like there are two sets of cutscenes sometimes. One is like actual cutscenes where they motion captured it and the other ones are only in engine and the difference is like stark. Character models not being on par with world design is accustomary to ac series since origin im afraid.

So I don't buy games in which you are confronted with bad writing and pandering to non gamers, but I just watched some gameplay and caved in.

After 30 hours I have to admit, even though this game isn't historically correct, it's still fun. Like the previous ac games repetitive, but that was expected.

As it turns out, you can have your characters straight when it comes to romances, which these youtubers lied about, as long as it's optional, I don't care.

The beat thing in this game is the world and the seasons, it's so beautifully made, it should be experienced by everyone who calls himself a gamer.

I'm struggling to continue the story, am too busy clearing out the map lol.

Gaming is great hobby when you actually game right. People have been grifting on this game for months now and most of them didnt even bother to give the game a chance. They have fucked up many times but ubisoft is a publisher that always deserves a second chance imo, and shadow really proves how much talent they have when they focus on putting a polished game on the shelves. Try not to get into the sales, drama threads about the game cuz they are tend to be explosive diarrhea coded

Itā€™s really good. The outrage and now grifters only saying is fine because they donā€™t want to admit how good the game is.
Thank God itā€™s not historically correct. I want fun. Not history lesson
