The Last of Us Part I and Part II Physical Edition seem to be in the works

We've spotted a mysterious reference to a special edition of a physical PS5 game from the franchise. Here's our take on the game, which remains unclear for now.

However, we can already tell you the price of this special edition. It will cost only 109.99 euros and 119.99 US dollars . It will therefore be available in the European and North American regions.

Everything seems to indicate that the officialization of this edition , as well as the opening of pre-orders , would take place very soon, in a time window that we estimate to be within two months.

Rumor is there is also going to be an ultimate edition where both games come with a pair of Wranglers, with 1 game tucked in each rear pocket.

The inside of the front pocket will have special edition stitching as well with a special message for fans.

"Joel was right."

Makes sense.
If you are looking to make money - which i mean is the point. You would capitalize on the shows release and spike in interest and comfortably in one complete edition with both.
This game has re-releases and legs for a reason obviously and the show extends them.

I already have both so clearly this isnt for me. Thus i am not obligated to buy or complain about it. lol

I bet that if the games are ever released together as a Complete Edition, they won't even be fully included on the disc(s), and instead, we'll just get some half-baked online download-required version.

Yes, exactly what I needed. Another fucking LoU version. We haven't enought of this game, I appretiate that.

Yes, special editions tend to have extra stuff and be more expensive. Unless you're new to physical games, how is this news or weird?
You have no idea what makes this edition "special" lol. I can near guarantee you the games themselves won't change. Whether or not it adds a few bells, if you can't see the sad humor in re-releasing the same exact game for $120 for the 10th time, it's on you.

You're also being disingenuous with that second line about physical games. Do you think those who just want physical discs are happy to be spending 120? If this was just them releasing physical discs for the same price as digital, no one would be making re-release jokes.

Truth is they're just milking the series to coincide with the second season. We both know it.

At least with Skyrim it was on different console generations that made sense, this, re-releasing the same game(s) over and over like this is just retarded. I like TLOU 1 & 2 as much as the next person, but where do we draw the line? Insane greed.

not this IP again, TLOU, HORIZON, TLOU, HORIZON, TLOU, HORIZON, TLOU, HORIZON, TLOU, HORIZON, TLOU, HORIZON

Yes, nobody has any idea what makes this edition special, but clearly something otherwise it wouldn't be re-released at a higher price. For all we know it could be a bundle of both games.

I'm not sure I get this part. Both games already have a physical PS5 edition for those that just want the cheapest option, this is clearly something new either with extra stuff for collectors or a bundle. In either case, I don't see what's particularly funny about it.

Obviously, they'd be silly not to try and get the maximum return from the show. I'd expect a console bundle as well. I'm just puzzled how obvious business upsets so many people around here when it comes to specific games.

Dude, lmfao.

Before, I was laying it on a little thick. But now, I have legitimately lost track of all the bundles, remasters, Remakes, sales, re-releases, upgrades and packages. This is a PS3 and PS4 game respectively. In 2025. TLOU was watershed. TLOU2 was a cultural turning point. But MY MAN. Every week I see a Tweet about "TLOU2 drops on Steam this week!" "Airgun interactive TLOU2 tournament!" "TLOU2 drops on Sega Game Gear on the 20th!"

It's becoming apparent to me that the old lacquer on the "Sarkeesian Approved," is starting to flake off, and these ideas are no longer airtight enough to float on moral suppositions. Back in 2019, when first world governments, big tech, social media and mainstream news were lockstep in the same narrative, it was EASY to bang your chest and play the party line. Now, however - all the old tricks are falling flat.

People are laughing about Bella Ramsey and her brave autism. Showrunners are giving vague answers to season counts. Druckman himself is saying things like "Don't be surprised if this is it," and then going back and changing it to a "I make every project as if it's my last," Seems evidentiary to me of some backroom sweating and some lines being drawn in the sand.

Same goes for Dever's casting and the whole "violence won't play as big a role in the show, so physicality isn't as tantamount as the game," goes too far in the other direction for me. It's a weak, messy plot. One of the primary reasons it worked AT ALL in game was because it could fall back on the revenge theme, at least.

You're taking a story that a lot of people didn't like to begin with, and you're taking away the teeth that the thing has in the first place, and then further taking away the player interaction - the catharsis, the frustration. It's going to play out passively on screen in the most boring, unsatisfactory way it can manage, I fear.

It will be a Remake of Part II in which Joel and a Ellies roles are switched. In other words: Ellie will go golfing while Joel will go crazy.

Sony will release remasters, "remakes", and later physical versions of the same games over and over before releasing new games or at least re-releases of Uncharted trilogy and GOW OG trilogy

We should save some anger, eye rolls, disappointed head shakes for a few years from now when they release the "Ultimate Super Nova Bundle - Fireflies Live Forever! Edition" to commemorate the last season of the show.

Both games aren't good enough to warrant this much attention.
Season 2 of the HBO show is in less than 2 weeks. And They are literally the two best games ever made.

I'm buying it again just to support the excellence that is the last of us franchise

AAAA gaming baby

man Sony has been such a joke this gen

I wonder if there will even be anything at all in this bundle to make it special at all or if it's just the two games that already exist, packaged together.

The Last of Knack.

Now seriously, I assume it will be just a bundle of TLOUP1 remake and TLOUP2 remastered, to release it with the Season 2 of the tv show.
