Black_Stride is a little farther than that. As he/she noted in the thread, BS is now in Aus, where retail game prices are insane.

I don't think their reviewer digs on the free roam aspect of things, which is OK. For me the events are all extras on top of a world I can just drive various cars around in for kicks for hours on end.
The only part I don't understand in that review is knocking the visuals.

I'd have the same reaction if they just used the Forza 4 AI as is. But this is where that Polygon review makes a solid point - usually you have some ace in your sleeve in arcade racers, and its usually something like a boost. Since Horizon doesn't have that, if you start to lose from the get-go you won't have a great chance of eeking out a win. It does have rewind though, so maybe that's no excuse.
And I've always wondered if there was some slight rubber-band AI in Forza, to be honest. The final lap always seems easier when I'm behind.

CSR value pack - wheel and basic pedals is US $250, CSR XL - $360 for a wheel, shifter set and much better pedals.
They are expensive but compatible with Xbox/PS3 and PC.

Wow, I didn't expect scores this good, made me try out the demo and I was pleasantly surprised how much I like it. It reminds me of Test Drive Unlimited, and I dug that game. I already have NFS pre-ordered on GMG but after my backlog clears up a bit I'll definitely be checking this game out.
Thats exactly what I was hopping to get out of Horizon.
Instead its a barren post apocalyptic waste land while online.

So reading the Giantbomb review and saw they mentioned having a Kudos-esqe system in this. Is this being considered a sort-of PGR replacement at all from early reports? I loved in PGR1 and in the DLC in PGR4 that they had that "free roam" mode where you could just drive around the city, and sounds like this could fill that gap nicely.

Looks like only 176, and I just noticed that 16 of which are unicorn cars, almost 10%, and then how many are pre-order/LE/VIP cars? Remind me how infuriating it is to try to get the unicorn cars in the previous two forza's and why I quit playing them.

Finally got around to playing the demo. Best looking racer I've ever played. I'm shit at the driving though. There's a review that whines about the graphics? Good god.

It's the Subaru BRZ GT300. A full on race car. That pic is fake, it looks like it's a still taken from a video Subaru released last(?) year. Someone's just shopped logos on top of it.
I'm looking for a racing wheel but don't want to spend $200+ especially when I'm only going to be using it for one game.

I used it for Forza 4 and I love it. Much better than using a pad. Has perfect weight and gives a great sensation of driving.
Great, much appreciated. For $30, why not?

I played the demo yesterday myself, gotta say whatever magic sauce they're using is pretty tasty. Sure it's 30 FPS, but its so smooth, and every thing loooks SO DAMN GOOD. The environments sort of remind me of the day time driving sequences in Alan Wake.
Is this using Forza 4's engine ? if so did they slap on deferred lighting ? cause it's easily a big step up.
