Was God of War 2018 generation defining? I would certainly say it was. It's arguably PS4's game of the generation

And Barlog purposely didn't direct GOWR because he wanted to begin pre-production on his new IP in 2018. And I'm guessing Playstation is giving Sony Santa Monica a massive budget after the sales of the recent GOW games. SSM is a borderline top 5 developer in the industry

There’s very very few studios capable of making “generation defining” games.

So unless it’s hyperbole, it pretty much only really leaves:

1. GTA (tho that’s already revealed so seems unlikely)
2. Elder scrolls (seems too soon after startfield
3. Naughty dog new IP
4. New Witcher (also probably too soon)

Kinda has to be naughty dog…but I don’t really see them showing that off at TGA, unless it’s literally just a very short cinematic teaser, with the full reveal at a PlayStation showcase or state of play.
