The world is governed by capitalism. The ones who profit the most from capitalism (rich people and companies) are not interested in a world war. Smaler wars here and there, yes, because you can make money with them, but a full blown world war? It will never ever happen again.
News outlets love the term, though. It generates them click, which in turn generates them money, so in other words whenever media outlets mention "the possibility of another warld war", it's 100% bullshit and only used to generate money.

But, it could. There are nuclear weapons in many places these days... Also, the bomb dropped in Hiroshima was nothing compared to what we have today in terms of energy.
But the bigger problem is actually the nuclear winter that happens after, not the explosions themselves.
My opinion is, it is gonna happen at one point. But nobody can know when. I think WW3 is totally on the cards. But I hope it won't happen for while.

Right. No other country beside the USA has the capability to deploy troops on foreign soil en masse. No country on Earth besides the USA can wage a world war, unless the war becomes some kind of electronic, information quasi warfare. When you think about it practically the USA is the de facto ruler of Earth, if they decided, they could easily conquer the entire planet if they really wanted to.

Right now, it's a propaganda war. Public life has become a bizarre show to me. I see people who urged on war with Russia and Syria suddenly changing face on Iran. The left suddenly rediscovers its anti-war message while the right succumbs to neocons and propaganda. The MAGA tribe is being tested on their own virtues. Lot of upvote/downvote carpet bombing in reddit sites. See the media folks who speak out against it getting bombed with angry replies on twitter. A bunch of folks who had never heard of the guy before suddenly saying he was the world's number 1 bad guy. It's very disturbing to me to watch groups of people who have never mentioned a man and likely did not know the man suddenly nod their heads when that man is killed and are told he was a bad guy. It's not healthy mental behavior.

Iran doesn't have the alliances to invade the US. Even if it did, they wouldn't have the ability to stop a force assembled by the US and its allies.
Trump ordering this assassination is just another expenditure of America's international political capital. He's wasting 80 years of hard won good will amongst our allies, trade partners, and friendly nations. This won't cause WWIII, but it may possibly be a step on that path.
