Assassin's Creed Shadows 💮|OT|💮 Play Stealthy for Me |づ ╸ . •́ )メ

Also yeah the game is pretty cool but I dont like some of these mountains

Some weird sloped walls you cant climb but slide off. Whats the purpose of those, like what does it serve? Let me climb every damn rock like Odyssey, it just makes traversing the map so much better.

I miss not being able to attack animals, or better yet, animals attacking me. It's just more enemy variety and it makes things interesting if you're running from one point to the next.

I do hope some more actual Assassins stuff gets mixed in here

The game needs a patch, badly. I stroll into a camp of enemies that just stand around watching me, assassinate button pops up, and I assassinate 5 dudes, back to back, while they are looking at me, two of them rise from the dead and I assassinate them again. So bad. On Expert, btw, so this is as smart as they get.
Yikes. That reminds me of my Valhalla experience. Ubi is famous for this. It's usually my first thought ..."why did they release it like this? Didn't they play test? It needs a patch."

Is this on console? Not experienced this on pc

Not an overcorrection at all, if you are good at stealth you should be rewarded with the kills.
It takes away quite a bit of the challenge in stealth and makes it brainless, valhalla had the perfect balance of making it a skill check, I was hoping shadows would do the same.
But for now it's not so bad, grab > ko works great too since it still rewards you for good stealh without completely breaking the balance of the system.

I'm such a fool, I was thinking the graphics were insane and then I turned on HDR. Mindblown. Maybe the prettiest game ever. Now I am going photo mode an unhealthy amount.

Man right off the bat the combat feels better and this is just the Yasuke prologue 😂 Looks better and feels better. Weighty.

Not in my opinion with Naoe, being able to thin out the ranks with one surprise kill is needed on expert and I think you deserve it. I can see your point of view though!

Grummz in copium overdrive, now spoiling the final boss on twitter. I only caught a glimpse and I think the big twist just went to shit. Be warned

Lol I just randomly killed an assassination target I knew nothing about by setting of a bunch of explosives to kill him, then he just showed up on my objectives board as "unknown organisation", pretty cool you can organically do things like that.

How is a extra health bar or forcing me into combat because the enemy im assassinating has too much health, adding to a stealth challenge?

Loving the graphics but I'm bored already after completing prologue. I think the feudal Japan setting wasn't as exciting as I was hoping for.
That AC for you, boring and soulless gameplay hiding under beautiful graphics. you'll normally find yourself forcing your way through the game after about 10 hours.

you avoid that enemy, lure them away or you go for the grab > ko like I mentioned, which are all harder to pull off without getting spotted, making it more challenging.

How it started

Im just here to place bets on who is going to poopsock and finish first for that scrumptious, ever important e-cred: Adam or Mana?

How it's going

Just ordered my first OLED and it'll be delivered Monday

Looks like I'm gonna break it in with some Creed

also, once you've gotten a piece of gear, it's ok to get rid of it if you're not using it, either by dismantling or putting it in storage; the transmog for that piece is immediately unlocked and always available, no need to carry it around.

There is so much painstaking detail here, dudes… So much to see, so much to explore and take in; it's almost overwhelming at times. And the drama… My goodness the drama! The cutscenes so far have been stellar. They're so strikingly directed, so cinematic in the camera angles used, the way the scenes are lit. AC games have featured wonderful cutscenes for big story moments for quite some time now, but Shadows takes it to another level.

I'm enjoying both protagonists here as well. I've seen complaints about Yasuke being too easy, but I feel like that's the point, no? You're playing as a giant samurai trained under a warlord, and slathered in a suit of armor. The power fantasy writes itself; you're gonna run through most people. Naoe is your ninja, and is specialized in stealth. Although she can certainly fight head on, a few hits takes her down, so there *is* proper dichotomy there. Both of their personalities are fun to see, and I can't really choose a favorite so far! Naoe's bullishness, yet heart of gold for those she cares about or wants to protect is endearing, as is Yasuke's gentle and noble wisdom, yet cold hearted warrior spirit in battle. His moment at the very beginning was awesome when he first came to Japan, whereas Naoe's was heart-breaking.

As a casual fan of the series, with me having really gotten into it heavy with the open world games, Shadows is wonderful. Don't let the toxicity cloud your own personal judgement, especially around a video game that is meant to be played with.

How is it everyone? Amazon is being tarded and says they don't know where my package is and, I quote, "should arrive by March 25th!"

Incompetence

Coming from anyone on the internet, that's downright stupid. Sounds more like a hate train. Imagine being overly excited for this and that guy spoils it cause the embargo date lifted.

I installed my wife's copy for her and the DLC. That 100 GB copying for physical media is crazy.

Found a path similar to the platforming tests in Ghost of Tsushima and found a sweet epic hood. Finally starting to look like a proper AC assassin.

Good to hear. Sometimes you wonder wtf people like Skillup are talking about.

Gotta admit I'm pretty damn impressed so far. It doesn't really feel like a typical Creed game. The polish is really noticeable. Everything just feels tighter.

And man Naoe is a definite wood. Also her hair and the hair effects on her are fucking fantastic.

Story seems fine so far. The writing and acting isn't at all as bad as what I've read.

We all know that's a piece of Eden in that box right?

….right? 😂

Just started after much optimisation on pc. Got to say this 31 fps cutscenes is killing the vibe. But godamn it looks so much better than even the ps5 pro quality mode.

PC 4k wise, it does look like a slightly enhanced version of the latest game in the serie. Definitly the same engine as usual though, you recognize it instantly ... and compared to Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, it's running a little behind graphic wise . Would be cool to have more consistency between engines given it's the same company , i mean this game should look even better

I haven't felt this way since I finished Origins and Odyssey twice, and Valhalla once. I didn't feel like I had to, "force" myself through anything.

Yasuke is a beast in the intro combat sequence even on expert. Dare I say he is better than Jin from GoT at the beginning of each respective game. Damn it I am railroaded to play miss Ninja for the next 12 -15 hours.

Find yourself someone who looks at you like Naoe looks at "Refill Tools" 😍

After 12 hours of Naoe and having her at level 12 now, I've gotten a good feel for the stealth, it's very smooth when you're using everything in your arsenal/abilities.
I cleared Amagasaki castle in stealth because I felt like doing it, then a few moments later I get a mission where I need to go kill someone in Amagasaki castle and we need reinforcements....bruv the castle is empty, everyone's dead, I can just walk in lol; no doubt they'll respawn for the mission, but still funny.

Completed Osaka Castle and calling it a night. Level 5. Digging the loot drops. Everything is coming in at a good clip. Again, really impressed with everything so far. Of course this could all change by the end of the weekend but we'll see.

The game really is fucking gorgeous

Gonna say this and then not share the strat??

Northwest of the Koyana Ruins fast travel point is the Path of Valor. Just followed the yellow marker up and found a box with an 'Epic' hood. Was able to equip it at level 6 so not so sure how epic it is. Maybe items in the game are the level of the area and you can upgrade them? Most likely the case. It has crit hit chance, extra adrenaline gain, 30% more adrenaline chunk gained from hitting afflicted enemies which am not sure what that means yet. You can also engrave a perk on it at the hideout when you get a forge.

From the gameplay demo, there is weapon perk that increase assassinatiin damage level. Maybe the skill check was transferred there?

Anyway, can we play in balanced mode(ps5) in non 120hz display?

Half tempted to drop rebirth and just play this. Fucking mind blowing on my oled from my pc.

Last one I played properly was origins and this feels amazing. The graphics definitely help.

I still think face models and mocap need work in this engine but my God....does anyone think they were inspired by shogun?

The cutscenes are not quite tv quality but really well done.

I think I love it guys.

Some advice if you will? I have a series X and a PC, but saw on steam reviews the game isnt too well optimised? I have a 4070/7800x3d, what would you guys reccomend I play this on?

There is definitely some inspiration, in the beginning the priests speaking Portuguese, and talking to Nobunaga for permission to stay there and preach the gospel. There is some similarities although I am still early in the game
