Honestly if devs act like this and by extension big companies who operate on spend everything they earned to make it all back and then some by next year gamers can just refuse to buy their products and just watch them sink. I think it might be worth sacrificing a few IPs and companies to send a message about what kind of games(quality and artistic vision) gamers actually want instead of these companies making games for themselves which is what it ends up being.

I am keeping it honest. It's been a day or so since Avowed's Art Director made those tweets. We'll see how long the drama continues or if it escalates. But in regards to why something like Baldur's Gate 3 wasn't surrounded by culture wars regarding it's progressive elements, it's because they didn't focus much on it during it's marketing and they weren't antagonistic and insulting to their fans on social media.
The Art Director with this game is very intentionally trying to stir shit up.

Of course the art director’s tweets gave this hyper focus. I’ve said as much multiple times in this thread. It was a needless response that has likely worsened the outcome for themselves. People need to choose their enemies wisely.
All I’ve said is that There was already active negative PR here and on social media before then, Even when Obsidian had done nothing at the time to draw attention to the toggle to choose pronouns. So clearly ‘publisher not drawing attention’ wasn’t the reason why BG3 got a pass.

BG3 was in early access for years before the final release. The nature of the content was public knowledge for a very long time.
We've already been through it in this thread but it wasn't that the game got "a pass", it's more that the quality of the writing shone through (so none of the inclusion and representation felt forced) and the fact that neither the game or the developers came across a preachy agenda driven cunts.
