Nah, if it's a good game I'll take a look at it. Big fan of Obsidian after playing Grounded, which blew me and the kids away. None of this is to say I won't still take the piss out of stuff purely for my own amusement. These characters do look like big gay fairies. Maybe they literally are, I don't know.
Tbh, long before any of the controversy, I thought the game's visual design was... choice. I think the graphics look like a garish AI approximation of a bizarre Fortnight RPG.

Avowed will have to stand on its own merits. Hopefully the final product is great.

Nice to see CC with some unusual options, gonna make some Pirates of the Carribean looking monsters. Hope this has a randomize button, anyway theres a lot more new info on the xbox site
Looks like its not true open world and has just 4 companions which is pretty disappointing, they better all be at the very least good, but otherwise pretty excited.

The most DEI thing that we've seen about the game is that it has the pronoun option you choose when creating the character displayed on the character stat screen, other than that it looks like a decently competent fantasy WRPG.
This character creator they're showing is pretty robust though, going by the examples. Forced DEI would have been more like only one type, skin or color preset available to choose, which this doesn't seem to be at least.

It’s just people creating nature Godlike from Pillars of Eternity. Which I’m actually surprised about as I thought it was limited to Humans and Elves for the playable character.
Edit: Reading into this you are a human or elf Godlike, no choice to not be a Godlike. Guess it ties into the story? I’ll probably go for fire or moon then.

But seriously some of the new screenshot seem really over saturated........these have to be retouched right, the game couldnt possibly this much of an explosion of color.
It looks more colorful than Sunset Overdrive or Sonic the Hedgehog.
Its a character creator if you want to make a bland white man then make a bland white man.

With every new screenshot the game continues to feel like someone took Zeno Clash and remade it in a new engine with 4k assets. I'm not sure what others are seeing here to where they are very offended by it, unless they were also offended by Zeno Clash years ago.

I don't care too much about the Elon versus Avowed developers issue, well in the end its all about our choice. I will still wait and see, maybe due to new political climate and commons sense is back, maybe they made some change just like other games were there are updates that changes choices into male and female category instead of pronouns and type A and type B. But if there is a push or force narrative of gender ideology, I will not purchase this game because of my principles. Thanks.

I mean, it looks like fantasy Outer Worlds, dunno what about it looks like Zeno Clash to you, that was mostly an action adventure first person beat' em up of pretty limited scope and was indeed quite meh as a game but still a neat and somewhat unique experience with some cool art and visuals.

It seems you can’t choose your Godlike type. You have to be this unknown version which appears related to fungi, as your character is unaware which god “blessed” you. At least you can edit your character to have less severe mutations. But it looks like you can create some real body horror type stuff.

That's not quite true. The game actually does force you to be a godlike, which I believe always have a visible deformity. You can't be a normal person.

Great point. We should absolutely support this. I would have bought and played many games if they had a character creator. Outlaws and forspoken come to mind, along with the upcoming south of midnight.

You are always a godlike attached to an unknown god.....its part of the story, but you can switch off the godlike features if you dont like them......and you will look like a normal person.
As normal as youve decided to make your character atleast.

I think that was much more weird and/or creative art wise too, it's really quite distinct visually, this one's much more standard fantasy stuff, just like Pillars of Eterniy was, even if cool in its own ways.
