So you are saying that PRed is updating PC version because Sweetooth is butthurt that DLSS is better than PSSR?

What a weird response .. šŸ¤£
Yeaaaa that's exactly what I was saying

Many thanks papi!

Gonzito Gonzito I've replaced the .dlls but have no clue on how to force DLSS 4 neither on the Nvidia App nor the Control Panel. If you figure that out please, let me know.

In this thread they explain how to do it

Download the latest version of Nvidia Inspector and then follow the steps people are talking about. I am not home now and I have never tried it before but it seems easy to do

The value we have to put is 0x0000000A, not J.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
So, just replacing the .dlls enables DLSS 4, but if we want to use the new model we have to do what Gonzito says, right?

And I guess this is only until the official release on the 30th, right? I expect that by then we'll be able to choose the model on the Control Panel.

Yeah its definitely a bit confusing, some people are reporting it works others it doesn't. Probably the best idea is to wait until the 30th, then we can activate this with the Nvidia app in any game with DLSS

Cyberpunk built-in benchmark.

Old CNN DLSS:
'Quality'
PXjsttO.jpeg

'Performance'
VyJUaiO.jpeg

-
New CNN DLSS:
'Quality'
Wx0EGx7.jpeg

'Performance'
y0VSUM4.jpeg

-
New Transformer DLSS:
'Quality'
3lv4Lq9.jpeg

'Performance'

My benchmark results. 5800x3D+4060 Ti 16GB. 1440p, basically 'Ultra' preset, no RT, pre-patch DLSS vs post-patch DLSS vs post-patch Transformer DLSS:

OLD CNN DLSS:
-Quality = 78.4fps
-Perf = 112.1fps

New CNN DLSS:
-Quality = 72.48fps
-Perf = 108fps

Transformer DLSS:
-Quality = 71.27fps
-Perf = 97fps

In FF7: Rebirth it's using the correct preset (J) by default. Someone in the reddit thread said the same for other games. Use DLSS tweaks program to confirm if you want.

New transformer model is great, everyone. You can lower the DLSS settings by two tiers, get that performance boost AND get better image quality at the same time. 1440p DLSS Performance in transformer is looking better than DLSS Quality in CNN from what I can tell in Portal RTX, Indiana Jones path tracing, CP2077, etc.

I'm getting some visual glitching with it in Stalker 2, and in Portal RTX I had to omit the frame gen one (dlssg.dll) because that was causing screen flashing (but dlssd ray reconstruction and dlss upscaling both work great).

So for some games we may have to wait for an official implementation updates (or maybe the next NV drivers?) for those games, for some of the DLSS4 features to work right in them.

EDIT: Fixed the glitches in STALKER 2 - you have to delete "sl.dlss_g.dll" from "...\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2- Heart of Chornobyl (Windows)\Content\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace\Streamline\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64" and leave in there the new frame gen dlss "nvngx_dlssg.dll" and then it works great with Transformer model and the new frame gen at the same time.

what other games have been supported?

im curious to redownload black myth and alan wake 2.

Makes a world of difference on my 4070Ti. Reduced VRAM with PT on (without mods) makes this a playable experience at 4K w/ DLSS performance. Getting 75FPS with FG and 44 without.

Image quality looks prestine! Almost looks like old quality 4K.

Improvement to input response at all?

Anyone experimenting with ultra performance mode?

Maybe my eyes trick me but, i tried 2560x1080 and dlss performance looks surprisingly good.
trust me, cyberpunk is a game where dlss works really exceptionally. I've actually played with 1080p dlss performance in cyberpunk quite a while alongside with path tracing. i don't say it looked great but considering it was 540p internal, results were exceptional and somewhat presentable. can't wait to test it with the new transformer model

My impressions:
-The image is a little sharper and fine details pops more. The Transformer model is also less blurry during motion.
-The image is sharper, but I think motion artefacts are a little bit more noticeable now (the old CNN model blurred artefacts / pixelation, making them less noticeable.),
-DLSS performance (transformer) looks better than DLSSQuality (CNN) on the static image. Ultra Performance looks very soft and is IMO unusable.
-DLSS transformer is heavier than I thought, with old CNN model I had 60fps, now 55fps in exactly the same location.
-Ray Reconstruction looks spectacular (reflections all look perfect now) but only at DLAA. With DLSS Q/B/P the image looks filtered / upscaled. Also RR sometimes introduce additional noise (boilng / unstable lighting) in dimly lit locations that's not visible with RR off.
-This new transformer model crashed immediately with my OC settings, which was otherwise stable in all other games. I had to lower the GPU clock a little to play the game without problems. The CNN model does not have this problem.

So DLSS 4 is available for 40 series cards. It's the multi-frame generation that's exclusive to the 50 series? OR is DLSS 4 and multi frame generation synonymous?

you get partial DLSS 4 as super resolution is also updated to 4. that's the best way to put it

some still refer the dlss super resolution as dlss 2 but I don't really like using that as dlss 3.8 and the new dlss 4.0 super resolution has nothing to do with the 2.0 version in terms of image quality

DLSS4 includes MFG, FG, RR and SR with upgraded transformer model.

4xxx series can use FG, RR and SR with upgraded transformer model.
3xxx and 2xxx can use RR and SR with upgraded transformer model.

What is your output res? I'm keen to see what ultra performance looks like on a big 4k OLED panel from across the room on the sofa.

The faces have finally lost that smeary effect they gained a while back - that alone is a massive win. Actually the entire game suffered a bit from it - like it had a filter put over it. So glad it's gone.

I'm using 2560x1440p monitor, so "DLSS Ultra performance" looks clearly much worse compared to "DLSS performance". At 4K, however, the difference is definitely less noticeable.

4K TAA Native

4K DLAA Transformer

4K DLAA CNN

4K DLSS Quality Transformer

4K DLSS Quality CNN

4K DLSS Balance Transformer

4K DLSS Balance CNN

4K DLSS Performance Transformer

4K DLSS Performance CNN

4K Ultra Performance Transformer

4K Ultra Performance CNN

And Ray Reconstruction / reflections comparison:

4K DLAA Path Tracing Ray Reconstruction

4K DLSS Performance, Path Tracing Ray Reconstruction

4K DLSS Performance, Path Tracing, Without Ray Reconstruction,

4K DLAA Raster

1080p comparisons. it is incredibly impressive. 1080p dlss performance is fully playable now. all comparisons are made in motion

second comparison with sharpening disabled

still the same result. the new dlss performance looks better than the old quality mode

and an extra path tracing comparison with ray reconstruction

extra dlaa comparison

there's indeed a performance hit on my 3070. seems to be around 5%. considering the image quality difference, going from quality to balanced should cover the performance impact and you'd still end up with better image quality

finally, the oil painting effect is gone even at 1080p dlss performance. but performance impact is around 9% with ray reconstruction

This is incredible. 4k ultra performance appears to be a teensy tiny bit softer than the native TAA presentation - and that's me analysing it on my monitor from 2ft away; it'll be imperceptible in a regular sofa - big TV setting.

I honestly take no pleasure in saying this, but RIP AMD. I don't see how they can have an answer for this as of now.

Honestly, i wasnt that impressed. I saw a lot of artifacts on dlss 4k performance with psycho RT. zebra crossings are fucked. However with path tracing, there were fewer artifacts, but i can just about hit 30 fps with path tracing on my 3080 and it starts to drop during combat.

its decent but not game changing. i will try with other games. was alan wake 2 patched?

My 4070 can now be playable with 4k/60FPS with DLSS ultraperformance with all the path tracing enabled.
Before this update I gave up on 4k and just dropped to 1080P with DLSS in quality mode.

If I enable frame gen I can bump the DLSS up to performance in 4k. Frame gen seems better to me or is that a placebo effect. Did they improve DLSS framegen? frame gen seems almost decent, playable even.

well, they did. cyberpunk with path tracing and frame generation was actually testing the limits of 12 GB VRAM. they reduced the VRAM usage of frame generation and improved its performance. it is no surprise it feels better for you
