It’s not that. Starfield is just the straw that broke the camels back because it’s such a behemoth and Microsoft’s output has been dry for years. People are getting tired of it. 2022 has had nothing so far and with Starfield delayed things are looking bleak.
All eyes on the Xbox showcase in June. If they don’t have something big in store for Xbox this year people will criticize the hell out of them again, and rightfully so.

I'm one of Microsoft's biggest critics and I'm honestly not expecting anything from the June show. Just more announcements of games that are 3+ years away. I said at the end of the PS4/Xbox One era that the next gen is going to be a dry spell for MS and it looks like it's going to be true. But Starfield is squarely on Bethesda and not Microsoft.

Microsoft can still have a great show even if they don't release anything for all of 2022.
If they show that 2023-2024 looks packed with great content, and have something meaningful to show of some of their games in this window (Hellblade, Perfect Dark, Fable, Avowed)....I'll be fine with it.
If all we get is more CG teasers with very little substance and no assurances of when these games are coming out and that they still look very far off, it'll definitely be time to be concerned.

Agreed and I think everyone not console warring understands that. The criticism has more to do with the big picture and the perception that Microsoft has trouble managing their studios. Once Microsoft starts pumping out AAAs regularly the criticisms will vanish — it’s just a matter of when. Everyone knows they’re coming.

Hellblade might be a possibility, MAYBE.
But reports say Perfect Dark's development was rebooted and whoever is doing Fable are having trouble with it's open world. They are 2024 at a minimum.

He - and quite a number of other internet warriors - want Spencer to ‘show leadership’ by firing a few people over the same pandemic related delays that we’ve seen in tons of AAA projects.
Bafflingly, this ‘therapy’ recommendation never came up with announced delays from Square, Warner Bros, Sony, Capcom, EA, Nacon, Amazon games and many others.
I guess it’s helped to boost the engagement stats on the video.

He's not "just" the head of a publisher, he's running a whole multi-platform ecosystem. That's a big job with bigger responsibilities and profile than almost any other in gaming. As such he's deserving of more scrutiny and criticism over his performance and leadership.

Sorry, plenty of great games and software in general were created during the pandemic.
Everybody in the developed world had some level of restrictions applied to them. Where I work they even acknowledge that productivity levels went up before saying that they would prefer at least some level of in office work.
"But but the pandemic" is just another excuse from MS to not deliver.

Still boils down to studios and dev teams at the end of the day.
His position is the one that manages the overarching strategy. He could absolutely have forced through a release of Starfield for November 2022. Or Redfall in 2022. He signed off on the delay.
After all the talk about games needing to launch with high quality levels, you’d think people would appreciate folks willing to take the heat and make the call to delay
We say how this went with CD Projekt where fear of spooking partners made them release Cyberbunk 2077 in a broken state on consoles.

Depends on the manner in which you say it, I guess. If I started trolling Xbox threads with that cliche "no games" line then I'd get warned and eventually banned. It has happened to plenty of Sony fans.
I see plenty of Sony faithful represented in the ban list.

I think there is some sort of point system. If you accrue a certain amount of points through warnings you get da boot. That might be the case here. Otherwise hit the report button. Dude.....@Monkeyball got banned for repeatedly posting politics after being warned. Perhaps you should check the ban list and find out why someone got banned before trying to claim it was due to bias against a plastic box.

I checked the ban list; maybe I missed his name there but mods don't keep a clear explanation which post got him banned.

Slimy is hardly an Xbox fan either. You can create whatever standard you want in your head, MS won Publisher of the year 2021. It was given by a 3rd party website based on the same standard for all platform holders. Maybe this year Sony will win but in 2021 MS took the title. Your feelings about that is irrelevant.
