The guy has been stuck behind s desk for years give him a break.

What's with this place and Deadpool, first the other day in OT people thought spider-man was too much like Deadpool
Now today, cause, a sarcastic, snarky AI is Deadpool?

Come on people

One-track hive mentality funnily enough,

Remember when any game that showed any semblance of emotion was The Last of Us?

Bound to happen when where everyone only seems to communicate by shouting pop culture references at each other.

"Preorder now!"

Naw I'm good, hopefully Destiny 2 will be what Destiny 1 should have been, but I'm gonna wait for reviews this time around.

Woo PC! I just bought a PS4 Pro and was going to buy the Destiny Collection- now I can wait and I won't have to pay for PSN Plus.

I hope that Bungie will allow characters to persist across all platforms. If they did that I'd gladly double dip on PS4 and PC (and actually build a whole new gaming PC since I don't currently have one).

No video but it's basically heat/steam/dust particles around the Guardians' feet and solar heat effect out of the Suros shotgun. Music seems to be the Destiny 2 theme track.

Woah woah woah i need to hear this new music

It shows that a lot of people, especially on GAF aren't exactly well-versed when it comes to fiction writing

He was "Deadpool" according to the teaser thread too.

GAF thinks any remotely manic character is Deadpool.

*something has even 1% passing resemblance to gears and/or call of duty*

"UGH THEY WENT FULL DUDEBRO HUH?"

The issue isn't whether the gameplay will look great, because gameplay wasnt the issue. The issue is whether they learned their lesson and fixed shit that made so many leave, including myself, during vanilla destiny. They had balancing issues, rng awfulness, and of course the most glaring of all being the total lack of cities and huge repetition to missions.

And I won't hear about this until some time closer to release date so I ain't pre-ordering shit

I mean they fixed a lot of shit with TTK so they have learned a lot already.

So because people here who dislike the trailer don't fit into 1) the "core" fanbase who'd pre-order the game off nothing but a name-drop or 2) the group who don't follow gaming news and just buy what's popular they aren't allowed to have an opinion on the trailer itself?

No but there are complainers who know what the game series is about, know who the characters are, and are being disingenuous with their criticisms because it's an internet message board so they can complain at will about anything. Of course there's going to be newbies to the franchise that will wonder what the tone represents and some faithful that don't like the new trailer, I'm not saying that. but really if you're at all rational you'll understand what the difference is between a preorder hype trailer and a full on media blitz designed to give you a reason to care. Do you really think this trailer was meant to woo the casuals? It got the core hyped, we've all preordered now, and now we finish age of triumph while we wait for the gameplay demo in may. People new to the franchise will get all the info they need between E3 and release.

That was cute and all but even by CG trailer standards it told me nothing about what the sequel is bringing to the table.

Not just that but also a very worryingly short memory and very poor object permanence. It seems you are only as original as the last rally popular thing they can make references to.

The Spiderman thread in OT yesterday was unbearable.

A single character's personality is not a reflection or representation of a game's overall tone. Like I said before, Cayde was like this in TTK and that game kept in line with the tone of mysticism more than any Destiny title.

I'd wait for a story trailer tbh.

Again, it might just be one character. But he's been used to set the tone for both the teaser and initial trailer. I think it's ridiculous that some people are acting almost offended that some people might look at those and maybe make some assumptions of the tone of the game.

There's also been people who looked at the leaked poster and other things and thought that it looked like the game might be going for a somewhat more dark and gritty feeling this time around.

People will make assumptions based on what they are shown, that's just how it works.

So collectors and limited editions will probably sell out for the people that want to wait until they see gameplay before they pull the trigger?

Especially with a Destiny game where Bungie has been so reluctant to show it in the past, and also lied about the game to deflect criticisms when people finally got their hands on it. They get no benefit of the doubt whatsoever.

Man I was REALLY hoping they wouldnt pull the Expansion Pass bullshit again. It was a complete waste in D1, and the shit ended up free before too long.

Should be $60 for the first year, then $40 each year after.

It's more Destiny and the story is about the Cabal making the Tower go boom. I'm not sure what more you need the trailer to say. It's not like they're going to go into changes in the loot system, class progression, world scale, etc..

No, this is kind of worrying for those who wanted a meaty world to explore. They need to take back the city, kick the Cabal out and get loot. Thats pretty much it. This sounds like a continuitation of D1, which is great for D1 addicts but I would like more interaction and world building on top of instances and loot grinding.

Well if they ditched the terrible tower like hub, and made considerable QoL improvements across the board i'll hop on anyway.
