Uhh, saying "loot" in Destiny is not breaking the fourth wall.

It is when everyone cheers, despite having their friends killed and homes destroyed. That action only makes sense if they are responding to "loot" the way the audience would, rather than their characters.

I was obviously referring to the film which has now popularised the character, because I am willing to bet that is the first exposure of Deadpool to a LOT of people in here who are making the lazy comparisons.

Oh, and a making a meta-joke is not the same as breaking the 4th wall.

Who cares which "snarky, ~META~, 4th-wall-breaking character" people are comparing him to? and who cares when someone found out about Deadpool?

Something about the leak showing very far plans on DLC and expansion for a game that's barely been announced feels weird to me. I know that's how it is nowadays, I guess I haven't gotten used to it yet.

It's gross but people just accept these kind of things nowadays. "You don't have to buy it" or whatever thing they say. Capitalism is great!

Really hyped but the Destiny 2 logo is very boring... Looks like someone just loaded up the file with the Destiny logo, made a new background layer, typed a 2, didn't change the font and made it transparent and went: "Looks good."

Not a fan of CGI trailers but the fact that its finally confirmed for PC has me hyped as fuck. 1080p/60fps with the Elite controller!

Ok, now tell me about pvp and how you're totally not gonna ruin the shit out of it this time.

Wasn't perfect, but they at least attempt to adjust the cheap aspects of it each patch. It's definitely where most of my playtime has went to and I've enjoyed every minute since day 1.

How....what.....eh ?

The game is a coop , mmo thing that relies on constant content being released over it's life. There isn't anything sinister about an that.

Destiny is my most played game ever and that trailer did nothing for me.

The tone is so...weird

It's borderline borderlands, sadly. Cayde is just not a character I'd want a focus on. Not that I'm saying he's the focus, but the less of him the better imo.

Destiny's biggest problem with the legion of millions of players had always been lack content, and slow release of content. Having a roadmap to expand end game isn't a bad thing in this type of game, seeing as it's very much a game as a service.

Basically they just announced a minimal of three raids in the pipe.

most people who play this game put tons of playing time into it (and believe it or not, they enjoy it). for these people. paying 20-40 for an expansion every few months is an amazing bang for the buck compared to your average video game. if you don't like the time sink that the game is, then okay? that's fine, but it not "dumb", because a ridiculously large amount of people enjoyed the format of a vanilla game and then several necessary expansions.

I didn't say they didn't enjoy it or that they wouldn't fine entertainment in it, I was just commenting from a consumer perspective that you have to keep even buying the expansions to even play the base game, or stuff you have access to in vanilla. The game then to me was never labelled dumb I don't like the concept of mandatory expansions. It was like I didn't buy Halo 3 ODST which included the second mythic map pack of three maps so I got locked out of most of the playlist because I didn't have three maps. Similarly applied to Destiny the only meaningful expansion I found was the Taken King when checking it out at people's houses compared to everything else. Though having too buy all expansions regardless of the individual quality of the expansion just to keep playing is something I've never been a fan of. I like options not having to buy something so I can keep playing it. I don't know how that turns into me then infringing on if people had enjoyment with this model or not because that's not what I was getting at, it was about being locked out of stuff.

Agreed. I'm sure the actual game will be fantastic but that's not my style of humor at all.

Me being greedy, but until Destiny can compare to a full (successful) MMO's content expansions/releases, I'm going to be annoyed by it. It's not a full MMO, I know, but it's so damn stingy in comparison.

I mean...It's a logo. We can't play that so whatever. As long as the game is great they can ship in a soup can for all I care.

I'm hoping we can toggle 4k/30 or 1440/60 on Scorpio.

Yeah, that trailer was pretty awful and tone-deaf, especially when it's showing imagery of families running through a collapsed city and people dying, but yay for loot? Doesn't exactly instill confidence for how Bungie will be approaching the storytelling this time.

Still excited for the game though. The Destiny universe has such amazing potential.

Cayde is awesome. I for one can't wait to see more of his antics ever since they fleshed him out in Taken King.

I just like how bungie is now fleshing out these characters they've been sitting on for a bit. Cayde, Saladin, Eris, sorta Amanda Holiday.

Hopefully they reveal more about the Stranger and The Queen/Reef.

Yup, but I'm also not sure I'd like the total randomness and loot spam you tend to get with traditional MMOs. And this is bungie, they have a hard enough time with balance as is!

Jokes aside, hopefully they're putting that rumored 1000 workers to good use.

I hate this part of their marketing so much. What happened to the excellent spots that Bungie would put out for Halo?

I don't get why the comparison for the space cowboy jokester played by Nathan Fillion who is wandering around with Gina Torres is Deadpool instead of Mal from Firefly.
Mal is a Deadpool ripoff too.

And Castle.

inb4 someone realizes the other half of Pool's schtick is being a blatant ripoff

Yea cheering for robbing the graves of your recently massacred allies is uhhhhhh......

People have been doing that for a looooooooooooooooong time. I like controllers more but I prefer the options on PC, best of both worlds. I'm excited to (hopefully the port is good) finally play Destiny at 60fps.

Yeah hopefully the port isn't a mess. I fear that it could be like Arkham Knight.

I guess it depends on the game. I did play GTA5 on PC but FPS is a different beast, at least competitively.

For PvE stuff whatever you like best :) And same here 60fps with a great resolution is going to rock.

People really looking for something to hate, the real GotY is coming and some people just can't handle it.

Yup. Seems like half of the people here feel that the tone of the trailer was off too

Bungie has definitely been listening and learning from the community over Destiny 1. Hopefully communication will be open and seriously looked at during the beta.

I expect it'll be fine and not that bad. Worst outcome will probably be something like not being able to go above 60. Luckily unlike CoD, the beta will also be on PC so that gives me hope.

It'll be interesting to see how they handle controllers on PC for this, if it'll have magnetism or not in something like PvP.

I think it's because it wasn't your usual 95% description of serious situation with a 5% comic relief "mic drop". It was a turn by turn, 50-50, serious vs. comedic transition for its entirety. TTK went in that direction, but this teaser and trailer blew the doors off.

I liked the teaser far more than this trailer, but still excited for the game. Bungie give us platform agnostic accounts.

You raise a good point. I'm not into the tone at all, personally. Cayde was perfect in the teaser but in this... it was trying way too hard.
