What is the quickest way to earn crucible marks? I really don't enjoy the PvP side of the game but would still like to cap my marks for the week, so preferably as fast as possible.

So there is a patrol mission on Venus that gets you to 2 nasty Praetorians. I am a lvl 21 hunter and they one shot me before I can run over to some boxes and "scan the environment"... any tips/thoughts? I was able to do it once out of pure luck but I tried to get it done last night and it was just not happening.

My blue rocket launcher didn't do shit.

Rumble is the fastest Crucible mode for me.

Trade them in to Xur on Fridays/Saturdays for exotic weapons. You'll need quite a few though -- at least 13 strange coins and 23 motes of light.

Coins are for the weekend vendor that will get you an exotic armor piece at 13 coins.

Motes of light can get you a legendary class item from the speaker or an exotic engram from the strange coin vendor.

Two quick thoughts on difficulty.

There needs to be something between Normal and Hard. The former is a cake walk, the latter has enemies buffed with health to absurd degrees. I spent three nights trying to beat the first Vex encounter on Hard (solo), and got to the last few enemies last night when a network error booted me to orbit. I played it on normal this morning and basically walked around destroying guys without any danger.

This opened up the patrol, but we can't pick a difficulty there, just normal. Why? I want to free roam on hard mode. :\

For the duration of Xur's visit, if you have not used your third character slot, you can obtain infinite Strange Coins. It is confirmed working.

I do not endorse this kind of thing. The process is also boring as hell. However, I have been told that some people actually like it and/or will put themselves through anything to gear up as quickly as possible. You can also be extra prepared for his next visit.

If you haven't figured out how to do it, reply to this post. Just keep in mind that this was not intended, and while I doubt there'd be bannings (it's rather innocuous given that there's no trade economy), I do expect it to be patched somehow.

You can do the weekly strike and get 3 coins for the lowest difficulty, 6 for next difficulty, and 9 for the most difficult. You only get the coins for the first completion, so you can't keep running it for more coins. You can also randomly get them from chests or blue engrams.

i love mine, plus it has slower firing down the sights but higher damage. It's nice to switch to and from hip fire and get the different rates of fire/damage

Yeah, but you can get at least 3, 6, or 9 per the heroic weekly strike, depending on your level. I think it goes, 22, 26, 28.

I've noticed playing Level 24 strikes gives shit loads of rewards. I keep getting coins, motes and engrams.

They're random drops, which is unfortunate. The weekly Strike will net you 3 strange coins, but you can also earn them as rewards in the Crucible (randomly) or in blue+ engrams. Pretty much you just need to keep playing.
