Am I weird if I'm scared to death of buying any exotic engram from Xur in fear of it being an item for a different class or something? My soul may break if that happens.

Believe what you want, but if I have it's been once. Mainly because I don't stand in plain sight/hide from radar. And I use shotgun. And I have my AR as well for long range. Plus my sunsinger ability to hold aim in mid-air for some seconds.

None of this stops a bladedancer super. It can melee at silly ranges and angles so hovering mid air doesn't protect you in any way. The speed they travel and distance can melee from makes AR not good enough unless at extreme range as even headshotting it will trade a kill at best by time it kills, and shotgun suffers same problem as every other close range attack with the crappy netcode, it kills but it doesn't relfect the kill fast enough meaning the Bladedancer gets a melee hit/kill regardless, very rarely will the bladedancer die in time.

Sorry but I don't think anyone can believe you go no deaths, or only one.

Lol, got 2 legendary engrams doing the lv8 earth strike.
Then again I'm on a dozen run streak of this so far so I think I deserve it.

I've had issues all day of constantly either being unable to connect or getting booted when attempting to start something or even mid Crucible match, so you aren't the only one. Never had any real problems before this so don't know what's up.

Maybe the heatwave here in California burnt out some connections?

Please tell me Bungie will punish players for leaving a Crucible game early. Every game someone quits and we can't recover.

I never said I go no deaths or only one, I said that I've only been killed by a bladedancer super once from what I recall. And yes it does. All they do is get more damage resistance, sunbro warlocks do the same. Their shields go down. Don't pretend they're immune to damage lol. AR's do more than decent damage on them. Again if you've found somebody actually good with it then that's on you, but the people I've found I have specifically said haven't used it properly. And anybody who is decent with their super is based on timing. No need for a nerf.

This is the first time for me too. Played the Alpha/Beta, and the retail release every day since launch night. Up until now 0 issues. But the last hour has been disconnects in crucible (usually towards the middle/end of the match). And now I can't even sign in. :/

My fireteam abandoned me in a level 20 Mars strike. I had to take the boss out by myself, which took a while. All I got for it was a rare engram :(

Earlier people didn't know how to farm the Earth cave. They were so close so I had to message a guy telling him to stand back.

I'm kind of starting to grow tired of the game's day-in-day-out gameplay, particularly in the bounty system.

Yesterday there was a bounty to kill the last boss in heroic Archives on Venus, and now the daily heroic story mission is heroic Archives. That means I'll have to play this level again, which is disappointing considering I don't like the grey colorset and lengthy enemy wave portion at the tail end.

On top of that, I got a bounty to play 5 control matches. I got the huge moon map twice in a row, followed by the huge mars map, followed by the huge moon map again. The guy who had 3 kills and 20-ish deaths got the legendary engram, I got squat despite being in second, etc. The nail in the coffin was when I disconnected just as the last match on the moon was coming to an end, preventing me from getting my bounty credits OR crucible marks and making the 10 minutes leading up to that point just a big waste of my time.

I was really, really loving this game yesterday, but the nature of doing the same kind of content every day to get the rep I need is getting old fast.

I can confirm that the "25 KDR" exotic bounty is a typo. A horrible one. I think all you actually need to do is get 25 more kills then deaths cumulatively. So if you just have a 2.0 kdr for a couple matches its done. Super easiy, super misleading description.

I feel the same. Haven't signed in since Tuesday afternooon, and it's like...what's the point? So I can grind out gear for this raid? Iron Banner isn't till a month, so there's no reason to work on gear for PvP either.

If you don't feel like doing those bounties then don't do them.

Unfortunately, bounties seem to be the only exciting thing to do. What would you remedy it by? Doing the same strikes over and over again? Doing the same missions over and over again? Atleast bounties provide variety, but even then the variety is pretty small.

The problem is that I'm a hardcore raider guy by nature, and in these kinds of games I always try and amass gear as fast as possible. I generally dedicate myself to one game at a time because of this. If I end up dropping content and slowing down because I'm not enjoying the day-to-day grind, I think the better solution would be to hop over to a similar game in which the day-to-day grind is more fun.

Hmmm. I see where you're coming from, but I'd say the story/daily thing was a coincidence, and where the pvp stuff comes in (god First Light is just, not, good) I hear you, but keep in mind the upshots, you can get loot if you have a bad match, etc.

Disconnecting at the end like that is sure to leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth, totally blows. sorry dude.

Oooh. yeah. that is tough. Destiny is taking up more of my gaming time than anything else by a huge margin, more than I expected it would, but i'm still playing other stuff.

doing what is more fun for you is always the right option.

The people who have been upgrading their gear for the month are going to put you in the dumpster when the time comes, so...there's the point if you're interested in IB.

Oh trust me, I've grinded out a good amount of gear to hold me up until the next tier of armor. Like Dano said, he's a hardcore raider by nature-and I've mentioned before, I come into the game bringing my WoW experience(Which in turn let my small group keep up with the 'pro' ones during the raid., reaching the same bosses they did in the same time span.)

I need helium filaments. should I just wander around the moon or is there a good place to farm these?

It's the only place to find them at all. Just do patrol missions and pick them up along the way. Also look in every spot you know of for chests while you're doing that, since those can have 1-2 per chest (or 11-12 on a "crit" chest).

I'm going through the game slowly and only halfway through the moon, but oh my god the writing is shocking in this game.

Whoever wrote this seems primarily interested in letting the player know how much they know about quantum physics:

"Calibrating ket vectors"

"They've broken the Bekenstein limit."

It doesn't help that the voice acting is bad too, but with dialogue (well, monologue) of this quality I don't blame Peter Dinklage one bit.

Actually what this style of writing reminds me of most is the notoriously meaningless Neon Genesis Evangelion, where one episode the protagonist is supposedly trapped in a 'sea of Dirac'. That show had a load of religious shite in it too, which I guess Destiny has replaced with space magic.

The gameplay's okay I guess, it just feels like a poor man's Halo so far.

Don't worry, your blue rare is waiting for you after the match.

Not to toss more flame into the bonfire of complaints, but is anyone else having some issues with getting disconnected from Destiny? I keep getting "You have been removed from the game world" and "Your connection to Destiny servers has been lost." Specifically right now, I can't re-join any games whatsoever without losing connection.

I have Guild Wars 2 running on the same moden right next to me as a test, and I'm not having any connection issues in that game. Is anyone else having this issue?

This wasn't always true for WoW, there was always disparity between the hardcore raiders and the smaller guilds when I was playing. This was up until Wrath. Destiny is a new game, it still has time to iron everything out, just like WoW did eventually.

Yeah seems to be a lot of people having issues today, Bungie hasn't really addressed it. Maybe if they get disconnected trying to play their weekly Crucible challenge they'll look into it more haha. Love the game and love Bungie, but a bit more communication would be appreciated and not just blaming all the connection problems on our internet, instead of things on their end.
