Hi there papis, I am curious to know how GAF handles Gamepass

Do you pay it every month, or just when there is something good releasing? Or maybe you never touch it?

Cheers

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Used to subscribe from time to time. Played some very good titles like High on Life, Lies of P and Like a Dragon Gaiden.

Had to unsuscribe when I saw the racist remarks of the Avowed designer, no way they get my money after that.

I use the 3:2 conversion rate. There's always something to play and MS are getting their first party releases flowing now.

Plus it makes it easier to then spend £70 on the Sony first parties I really want day one.

Bought 3 years for something like 80€ 2.5 years ago, not planning on putting more money into this. Even at 80€ for 3 years, I find that it was barely worth it.

Buying a physical game is a better investment. You keep it long term, you don't like it you sell it and get your money back.

The £1, 14-day trials of PC Game Pass would be the way to go if I still gamed on PC. Just get those when something new/interesting appears. They can be had for pennies at resellers but obviously not even worth dealing with because 70% off eff all is also eff all.

Zero.

Imagine you are willingly putting yr only power you have as a consumer into the hands of one of the biggest billion dollar corporation on this planet. Sounds not like the smartest idea.

I only subscribe when there’s something I wanna play or try out. Usually I will then turn off recurring billing after subscribing so it doesn’t keep me subscribed after the month has expired.

Yeah I did the same with a Brazil Gold conversion but the 3 year GPU/Series S experiment was a wash really. Did it for new Bethesda/ZeniMax games mostly and they never materialised in those 36 months. Starfield finally dropped with days of my sub remaining so I didn't even start it.

£330 spent leaving me with a console where I own nothing but a £5 Outriders DLC but not the game and a controller that my son sometimes uses with his laptop. My mate who lives 2k miles away used my GPU with his PC to try games he would then buy on Steam - I was sure it would get flagged and stopped but never did. Thanks, Phil!

Why pay every month? If something interesting comes out, I buy it. It works out especially well if several games come out in a month. I haven't seen any reason to constantly pay for it for a long time now.

No, I don't want to support Gamepass at all.

Main Reason : It encourages Live & GAAS games fully. It destroys entices on good experiences by forcing devs to make services and not games.
If the market & players were all going gamepass, we'd only have lootbox, micro-transactions, daily rewards, weekly event, monthly based added & removed content bulshit based games.
Gaming economy already turned into clusterfuck, lots of games are already plagued by these shameful practices, i can't imagine if all my games were turning into The Sims.

Until they decide to fix their shitty app on PC and bring it up to modern standards then I have no intention of supporting them, regardless of releases. Would rather just buy what I want from steam, even at full price.

I keep it active most of the time but I buy 3 month codes wherever they are cheapest to save money.

I know many here dislike it, but game pass is ideal for me. The older I get the less I care about collecting a library, replaying old games over and over, etc. I just want a simple way to enjoy my hobby on my couch in the evenings. I like being able to try out lots of different games without the hassle of purchase/refund.

None of the above.

I buy 3-month cards when cheap (CDKeys usually has them for $30). I try to keep three years stacked.

I supplement the 3-month cards with the 12,000 point MS Rewards 1 month Ultimate cash-in.

I'm an Xbox fanboy and I really never did believe in Game Pass. It's way too overpriced and was a mistake from the beginning.

I guess there's no way out for Xbox anymore than pushing forward as an escape. Sad.

I sign up for it whenever there's something I want to play.

So maybe 2-3 times a year.

Games like CoD and Doom it's more cost effective for me to just buy them.

No, I don’t have gamepass or ps+ subscriptions.
I don’t believe in renting games nor paying for online multiplayer.
I paid for gold back in the Halo 5 Guardians days though but PC gaming opened my eyes.

I got a GP month 2 times so far when a game I was interested in became available and the 1€ offers were around.
That being said that service offers nothing that would make me want to be continually subscribed.

This year we got Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, Avowed, South of Midnight, Exp 33 and Doom already in the first 5 monrhs, who knows whats lined up after that… but its definately a good deal. Thats also not counting indies and other 3p games launching on game pass.

Usually 3 month codes for GP Ultimate from key-sellers at ~40% off.
I do the 3 month codes, which take a few bucks off of the monthly price, from my local Kroger to also get the 4x fuel rewards. This usually takes $1 off per gallon every other fill up…that averages out to another $14 every other week.

I don't pay for it but it's not because I don't want to support it. I simply buy the games I want to play. Occasionally I get a free key with PC hardware and I use it to try out games I wouldn't normally buy.
