So fathers cant be supportive and mothers can't tell the truth?

This is absolute horse shit. You should be ashamed of yourself. Absolutely spurious nonsense

Played a risky game there.

Should have asked yourself this before posting .. "Will I cop a ban for replying?"

Season 3 Message GIF by The Simpsons

Pronounces are the lesser evil, just shoehorned in game to satisfy the PR team for le inclusive points on twittard

The problem is when that kind of shit is acknowledged in game an has a "story" behind it and to follow it, like this dumb af character with massive victim complex (I'm struggling, everyone is against me, why the world won't bend over backwards for me)

Yeah it's the lesser evil compared to the woke messaging and characters throughout the game. It's usually a good sign that it'll have them. Them expecting others to bend backwards over them is the worse. It's already bad that they themselves support mental Illness as normal which wouldn't be too bad if they kept it themselves. But now they expect others to accept it too or call them names just because others don't agree with their evil nasty ways of thinking which should have never even be view as normal or debatable in the very first place.

Feel sorry for the above guy's child whose most likely going to end up confused growing up because of lunatic parents.

Elon's answer and the guy who asked Elon that questions are how sane people are suppose to be. I shouldn't even have to say sane since this is how it's suppose to be and not even a debate. Boy or girl as how it is from Adam and Eve since the beginning. Keep it simple, uncorrupted, and normal.

Is the game demanding an altered speech pattern? Requiring, for example, that we address biological men as women? I haven't seen any evidence of that yet.

I am hoping that Avowed turns out all right. I was encouraged by the previews. I could use a good WRPG. I'm willing to give the game the benefit of the doubt for now. If I see more evidence of progressive ideology being shoved into the game - not just on a character menu but especially in dialog, characters, or story - then I'll be disappointed and turn away. But for now I'm in wait and see mode.
No the game doesn’t but it inferring it’s will upon you subtly isn’t it like you can be clever and make out it’s not a problem but it really is and even the faintest whiff of this
Insane rhetoric should be called out and torn to shreds because the devil is in the details these rat ideologies are killing gaming at the moment.

Agreed, these should be called out whenever even if minor since that's how these evil crazy shit happens. They always start with something small and once it's allowed and they see it's normalized than they'll try for something even more sick and twisted and it repeats from there. It would have been a lot worse if nobody ever said anything or call any of these insane shits out.

One thing I am really curious about is how many people are actually affected by LGBQT+ stuff? like what percent of population are they and then what percentage of voice (media, gov attention) etc. they are getting? Is it propotional in a same way as other issues and there propotional population? if it is less they should definitely get more space, if it is more, why?

How about women… half the population? Because they are being very vocal about their concerns over males in their spaces, and in their sports, and in their pants if they’re lesbian.

And again, we need to stop lumping everyone in the stupid letter description. Most gay people don’t want to be associated with this current nonsense.

Because LBQGT community is loud. It's not about being allotted extra space, but simply doing it themselves on social media. And media companies pick up on that making it look like they get tons of attention.

Most people arent affected by LBGQT people or policies. But they dont like how media gives normies less attention, or crappier hiring policies favouring LBBQT etc... Most people are turned off by LBQGT DEI stuff (which often goes together), which is why so many games and moves/tv shows that are heavy into it fail. Its a cycle of people like them who are hired, make content skewed to their personal politically driven lives, and then sell poorly because most people arent like them and dont like to be preached at watching TV or playing a video game.

This really isn't the hill to die on.

This isn't "killing art" at all. Art should allow people to create whatever they want, and if that means a fantasy world where people use pronouns then so be it. Going against this is actually killing art.

That's not to say I like this direction, and if a game, film, book is too "woke", or if I don't like the views of the developer (for example, I've never played Disco Esylem because of the developer's views) then I just won't spend money on it. That's not to say however that I think these types of products shouldn't exist. I believe they should exist as I believe in free speech and the free expression of art.

Let them make whatever they want. The public will decide if they want to spend money on it.
I think parsing down the argument to the words "killing art" is really not hearing the overall point.

The point is that some people don't like the pronouns and have been and can continue to vote with their wallet.

This was always allowed and it's totally fine. Nobody was going to buy Avowed anyway.

The anti-woke shit is just as exhausting as the super-woke shit.

No one should give a fuck either way.

The problem is that US culture is heavily biased towards Christian influence. Christians (especially evangelicals) have been raised for centuries with the idea that they are entitled, by God, to go around and be scream loudly about their view of morality, and judge others on whether or not they are properly following their rule book on how people should live their lives. And because of that, they are also the biggest snowflakes when other groups of people come along and start making judgement calls on them instead.

That's why all the anti-woke shit is stupid as fuck, because all it is is the exact same bullshit that christians do on a daily basis, except in reverse. It's people being pissed off that there are others suggesting that they follow their social rulebook, except most people mad about that have their own social rulebook that they think other people should follow. Here's a thought-- how about everyone just shuts the fuck up and lives their life how they want, treat everyone with equal respect, and stop making rules (and judging others) about how other people should behave?

Not true at all.

If anything, western Christian heavy society is extremely lenient and giving.

If any woke, DEI or LBQGT stuff was pushed heavy in many other parts of the world, you can literally be killed and nobody would care. They'd dance in the street. The government themselves might even arrest you.

You have much stronger feelings about the pronoun options than I do. For me, if that's all it is, I'll just pick he/him and move on.

I'm hoping that's all it is, and the game is not funked up with modern politics in other ways. It remains to be seen, afaic.

Just remember fellas, don't splinter.

Remember the good times. Remember Pachter? Remember when he said we got a rare incel victory and inadvertently gave us full credit for tanking Outlaws and controlling the zeitgeist?

Now you don't wanna let petty politics or console wars get in the way of saving the soul of gaming, now do ya?

I know hearing this stuff sucks. We'll get thru this, together.

I need you to play the game only on gamepass and don't buy it.

A lot of people fail to realize that the big thing that differentiates that USA from many of those types of countries is that the USA was not founded on religious principles. Many of the founding fathers were Deists, not Christians, and belived in a foundation of reason over dogma. They didn't want religious doctrine to be involved in governance. The invasion of Christian influence into the goverment of the USA in modern times would have been appaling to them if they could see it now.

Christian society is absoutely NOT "extremely lenient"-- the existing government framework that prevents them from murdering people has nothing to do with their own personal beliefs.

Yeah that poster is just another one of those crazy woke lunatic supporters. They always have a deep hatred for folks like Elon and Asmon etc. Normal people that aren't into them would just not watch their videos or pay attention to them. But the ones that focus on hating on them especially Asmon are because they hate the fact that they are part of the same psychopaths and lunatics that people like Asmon usually makes fun of.

Agreed, they usually talk trash about Christians when they are the ones who could allow them to exist. It's just the Christians disagrees with their ways and rightfully so. Some parts of the world don't just disagree with them but will outright do more. I don't agree with some of those countries more brutal rules but ain't going to feel sorry for them either especially if they tried corrupting young kids and making people accept their insanity.

Back in the 70s and 80s, Christians - or rather the fundamentalist/evangelical subset - were the censorious group. Jerry Falwell and the Moral Majority, that bunch. They snuffed out ideological opponents and squelched contrary POVs like the progressive left does today. They were the uptight prigs who couldn't handle other opinions back then. Now it's the leftists who are the uptight Puritans who can't handle deviations from 'orthodoxy.'

It's wrong no matter which side is doing it. If you're in favor of free speech, you should care.

And some people think that religion corrupts the mind, and is a version of insanity in itself.

It used to be - back in the 70s and 80s - that Christians, or rather the fundamentalist/evangelical subset - were the censorious, shaming, politically heavy-handed group. Jerry Falwell, the Moral Majority, that bunch. They were politically powerful and "cancelled" people in ways similar to how the progressive left does today - by moral shaming, virtue signaling, reputation destruction, etc. They were the uptight prigs who couldn't handle alternative points of view back then.

Now the shoe is on the other foot. It's the leftists who are doing it. It's the lefties who are the uptight Puritans who can't handle it when people go against the orthodoxy.

It's wrong no matter which side is doing it. If you're in favor of free speech, you should care. It's important.
Was born after that time but I can see that even around the early 2000s there were probably some hardcore Christians saying this and that game are satanic etc. But I'll still take them over the woke mob which are way worse and actually evil in twisted things and trying to normalize their shits. At least with the hardcore Christians, it's just them being annoying cause of how strict they are but it's still far better than actual evil and insane folks trying to shove their disgusting agendas on people and also expect people to follow them.

I'm saying whatever rules are in place should apply to everyone equally. If a person thinks it's fair game to call out groups of people about their lifestyle choices, then it's fair for those groups to do the same thing in return. Or, if the rule is everyone keeps their judgements to themselves, then that should apply across the board (which would mean that everyone leaves everyone else alone and lets them live their lives as they wish).

Part of the reason the "woke" stuff got so out of control is because it's a direct response to other people pushing their own rulebook onto them for so long that they felt the need to make their own book of rules to push back with.

Also, a person who is a proponent of free speech cannot at any point push a message of "stop saying..." Which is why Musk, for example, is such an unserious person.

It is lenient overall, just probably not so much in the USA where they have a warped idea of Christianity. I'm not sure what you mean by the current US government framework prevents Christians from murdering people? Christianity doesn't really believe in murder.

Oh, look. There's the absolutely gigantic elephant in the room of any conversation like this. America is so hopelessly warped by its religious dogma that it's impossible to compare it to other western democracies, or truly understand it, if you come from another country. In that regard at least, the US is more like the Islamic states than it is Europe.

Christ didn't believe in murder, but Christians rarely follow Christ's example, unfortunately. They follow politics, or their own self interest, first -- more often than not. Plenty of examples of that through history. Look at the Crusades, for example.
"The evolution of a Christian theology of war developed from the link of Roman citizenship to Christianity, according to which citizens were required to fight the empire's enemies. This doctrine of holy war dated from the 4th-century theologian Saint Augustine. He maintained that aggressive war was sinful, but acknowledged a "just war" could be rationalised if it was proclaimed by a legitimate authority..."

First and last post to you since I don't like spending time for people who supports these things.

The "woke stuff" being a direct response to other people pushing their own rulebook is one of the funniest things I've read cause that just means they are against the rulebook of common sense and how things should be. That's like somebody whose obviously wrong trying to push against something that's obviously right and normal. It's actually the other way around, the reason why we see a bunch of anti woke or people calling out the evil woke shit is because of it being pushed on more people. Which is why there's more and more dislike for woke things as time goes on so woke making their own twisted evil "rulebook" which shouldn't even existed in the first place definitely isn't helping your side either as it'll just continue to get even more dislikes as time goes by.

Everything needs a limit even freedom of speech, otherwise anybody could go up to anybody and say they're going to rape or murder them in serious manner and cops won't be able to do anything about it if there was truly no limit.

"How things should be," "obviously right and normal," "evil," according to whom, exactly?

People who say there should be a "limit" to freedom of speech typically mean "I want to be able to say what I want to say, but I also don't want YOU to say everything you want to say." Which was part of my original point (and why Elon is full of shit as a "free speech absolutist"), so thanks for confirming your view on that one. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

You are correct. Nothing in any version of the bible teaches violence. However, the Crusades are a very bad example, and not only because they started almost a thousand years ago. They're probably the most misunderstood event from history that I've encountered as people use them incorrectly as an example to show that Christians are really into murder and war.

lol. I love this place.

This isn't a dig at you because I also brought this up, but how did we get from pronouns in a fantasy game, to historical and theological developments thought up in the 4th century that justify Christians getting hard over murder? I was just pointing out that Christianity does not teach violence, but that's not to say violence has not been used in the name of Jesus. I admit that the US flavour of Christianity is a bit extreme and seems very odd to an Englishman like myself, but it's not the standard for the religion.

Like I said previously, the bigger problem with religion in general is often the people who follow it, not necessarily the teachings themselves. Ultimately people do whatever they feel justifies their own feelings on things, and then they try to morph their religion into something that supports their behavior, rather than vice versa.

im not against choices, Im going full on cis on this shit. But to force that stuff, like dragon age and its cringe worthy dialogs and quests, fuck that.
New Vegas was probably the best game to do that since it allowed gay and lesbian perks if you wanna go that route and even got a lesbian and gay companion. Overall characters and lore were all interesting. A very good balance without shoving the evil disgusting it they them shit and non binary crap on gamers.

Yup, me too. Part of the difference is that the left also dominates the news media, social media, and the TV/film industry. As a result, they have a lot more power to enforce their political/moral agenda than Fundamentalist Christians have ever had (in modern times).

But I suppose we should return to the topic of the thread. I don't want to get too far afield with discussion of Christianity.
