I love Hannibal, but Deadwood is on a different plane of existence. You need to watch it.

I keep putting it off as I'm a bit daunted by programmes in which I always expect characters I like to die at any time. I'm not even sure if Deadwood is like that, but its the impression I get.

Although that feeling contributed to my love of The Wire.

We need HBO to do a proper sci-fi show, possibly a space oper-ish one. I can't take this "50 years in the future, but it's really just the present with funny looking car wheels covers" crap that's on TV nowadays.

Seriously, go watch it. You'll love it.

Catching up with the news coming from The S*n that an England player who played on Wednesday will come out as gay.

A lot of names been mentioned, mainly Sturridge and Henderson. Sturridge is dating Jourdan Dunn, the supermodel so I doubt it's him.

To be honest, I couldn't care if any Liverpool player is gay, I would be more bothered that they spoke to the S*n.

Had a nightmare last night. Woy was sacked an the FA replaced him with Rodgers. AVB became the new Liverpool manager...

I do hope we give Rodgers a new contract before the world cup, I don't want to lose Rodgers :(

If we replaced him with AVB 0_0

This! It feels like forever since there's been a good sci-fi show, HBO needs to kick start the genre again.

Don't bother with Enterprise Hitcher, it's the worst star trek series with only about 5 decent episodes in 5 seasons.

Deadwood is finished (well, not really, fuckin HBO) so you might as well watch that all the way through before going onto Hannibal.

Deadwood is actually loosely historical, so the show was limited in how it could kill off characters and what not.

Dark Tower?

:(

Fuck that. Just can't see it being done properly at all. And balls to watching a show that you know will turn to shit 4/7 of the way through.

Was just reading about Start Trek: Enterprise, and one of the episode descriptions made me miss Mass Effect. I'd love a proper atmospheric mystery game where you visit an extraterrestrial colony where the inhabitants have disappeared, and you slowly figure out what happened as you move through it. No combat, no set pieces, just puzzles, documents, audiologs, and putting the pieces together.

Is this football thread?

Doesn't seem like considering some of the posts I have read.

But anyway, I'm in for heated discussions.

Does Wilshere actually have that much potential given the fact that he's a worse player now than he was like 3 years ago?

Still an easy, easy wind-up target for any opposition player worth a damn. Technical development aside, Wenger would perhaps have hoped for him to be less of a chippy cretin by now.

The only times when things get heated around here is when some chippy Barca or Real fans wander in. Or after Lightning's had a few Appletinis.

Henderson girlfriend gave birth to a child last year. I suppose he's an 'easy' target for tabloid speculation as he's kept it very private who his girlfriend is. And rightly so it's none of our business.

He's, what, 21, still? And it's hardly as though he's playing badly now or anything, he is in the England squad on merit. People said the same thing about Walcott at his age, and he still went on to become a pretty good player, injuries aside.

Perhaps he won't be the next Gerrard/Lampard player for England, but he will still go on to have a good career I think

Or when the 'do the Mancs appreciate Rooney sufficiently?' debate springs up :p

Why are people so surprised that we don't mind if he leaves? He's quality, but you don't want a player that has that much power to supercede a manager's decision.

He has successfully managed to be the highest paid player on the team now, after deciding to leave. I don't like it. He has too much clout.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
Got my tickets for Tottenham - Benfica next week, should be a good game. Aside from the dull group phase the Europa has been pretty exciting this season, there were some crazy ties in the last round.

This whole thing about a gay England player, it's probably one of the ultra-religious ones like Sturridge or even Defoe.

If they do come out then I doubt their club will be very happy at the timing, during a crucial stage of the season. I wish more players were open about their sexuality but it seems like a strange time to announce it.

Happy Friday guys!

Interesting news about the England player, is this just twitter speculation or quoted somewhere to be revealed?

I am guessing at Milner, hope not though as it will book his place on the plane. Already on that plane though I guess, ugh.

Would be good for football though if he is coming forward willingly and will move things on.

Hype levels, and England's savior spiel definitely needs to take a breather, in his best form he won nothing and accomplished nothing individually so why the hype.

He is/was a good player and had/has potential but for now he just needs to be cast aside like the cruel world it is.

Even if he was playing great, having him at the heart of England's midfield is still a risk as he is likely to either get sent off or break himself on the corner flag.

Lucas has just said that he's playing with the reserves today. He'll be a boost for our last handful of games if he recovers well. It'll be interesting to see where he'll fit back in, if at all.

Sakho is playing with the reserves as well. Looks like both will be able to play some role against Man Utd

Sakho will be playing too.

I think Lucas will be a bench player for a while now. It will be either him or Stevie in the deep role, possibly coming on at 60 if we're ahead to tighten us up. Could also fill in for Hendo, Allen or Coutinho further forward like he did vs Stoke away.

If this works for the last 10 games, we not need a DM this summer after all.
