Forza Horizon 5 Official Announce Trailer

I have zero interest in it but it does look great. They said RT is for Forza Vista only ?

Yeh FV only.

They get the FV tech from Turn 10 AFAIK so that means Turn 10 have it in the engine ready to go for the next Motorsports game which bodes well.

same as GT when they set a story campaign but they dont link it with driving to and from the events.

Sorry, I don't follow. GT? Gran Turismo? I've not played that one since the PS1 days.

What I was trying to say is can FH be played as follows, start game, straight to the grid, race, finish, repeat. Or is there unskippable silliness between each race, travelling to and fro and speaking to other drivers?

You have to travel between races.

After a race is complete you get dropped back on the open world and then drive to your next event (or fast travel near one).

Cruising through the open world is fun though and you can just see the journeys as bonus XP (which means credit).

Looks amazing the shot with the mountains in the background looks absolutely great.A RPG with such graphics would be incredible.
Hmm...I wonder if these guys are working on an RPG, by chance :pie_thinking: ?....

Anyway yeah, this game looks flippin' phenomenal. This the kind of gameplay showcase Halo Infinite needed last year (and this year; maybe they'll do one closer to launch). Right up there with FS 2020, Rift Apart, Demon's Souls remake and Forbidden West for best-looking games either out or coming by end of the year.

Gran Turismo has a LOT of work to do to catch up with Forza now, between this and Forza Motorsport proper (which should look even better than Horizon 5 if that's even possible). Best of luck, Polyphony Digital!

Unreal graphics! Might be best looking game yet!

What do you want from the physics in a driving game?, smashing through every building you see in the game?, thats not always down to a lack of physics but more the devs not wanting you to smash through a Mexico village in a multiplayer game.

Heh, but also, car licenses are restrictive. If you want real cars, you're not going to get them scratched up and with the bumpers falling off.

easily. looks way better than GT7.

this is the way to do cross gen games imo. downport instead of up port last gen versions. the world detail is insane and no way in hell you would see that in last gen consoles.

And yet, you said just 50 minutes ago, "I knew it looked cross gen the moment I saw it..."

I also said it looked the best.

I knew it looked cross gen the moment I saw it. They definitely upped the world detail but everything else is pretty much the same. Destruction wasnt there. Lighting looks identical to Horizon 4. Basically Horizon Forbidden West. Best looking game but still held back by last gen.

And for Phil to use Jim Ryan's 'built from the ground up' quote is just a head scratcher. I swear these suits live in their own world.
Horizon is the best looking game shown on ps5 but it's still cross gen.

bruh this was literally the best looking thing ever, like the scenery and the lighting gaddamn. The crazy part is its cross gen and it looks soo much better than any other racing game. Playground games are the best studio right now at MS, they are leagues above the others. WTf where the other studios thinking, like look a this and look at all the other trash.
Huh? Crossgen must only hold Sony consoles back eh?
Totally different tune now that MS revealed some crossgen games that look good.

I got stung with the one set in Australia. I thought it looked amazing and couldn't buy it fast enough but all I can remember is driving aimlessly around the arse end of nowhere and enduring some utterly pointless cringe inducing story (in a racing game ffs) about being invited the the most awesomest raddest beach partay EVAR!

I quickly deleted it out of utter disgust. Fifty quid down the drain. I was livid!

Anyway, I'm not falling into the same trap again. This one looks stunning but do all the Horizon games have a stupid story driven campaign? Listening to some of the in-game chat for this one started to give me horrifying flashbacks and made my dick itch.
The story in FH3 was there to set up crazy events like racing against speedboats, a freight train and a fighter jet

I have never showed interest in racing games ever but this one looks amazing. Whenever i will get my Xbox, this will be on top of my list. Also the best part about the Xbox E3.

Thanks. I probably should reinstall, God knows how long I'll be able to endure the party talk though :messenger_hushed:

You will always have pop in in a open world game with this much detail and foliage, did you see how far the draw distance was and the foliage rendering distance?

Well yes I actually don’t mind it on your screenshots. The ones that are really bugging me are the close foliage maybe lod switches and there is a scene where you drive closer to a mountain and all grass pops in quite close to the player.

Game looks super sharp and i love the series so im hype to jump in.

its a shame about the ton of pop in though. It stands out so much when watching, im sure its fine when playing and focusing on the road. Hope they can tighten that up before launch.

I've watched the trailer like a hundred times.

It's funny because before the forza horizon games, I wouldn't really say I was a fan of car games (besides stuff like sonic and Mario kart racers etc)

But I absolutely love the series.
