Seriously. It's cool to take a break and have fun with what's going on in the industry. It's not like in depth posts to unnoticed here, at least to me. I can say I read most of them, I don't really respond as much because it's harder for me to articulate as much as the post in question did.
It's really a skill to do that consistently, and I hope those who do it a lot realize that, and realize that it's appreciated.
I dunno, it depends of how much I like something (specifically) that determines how far I'm willing to go in terms of analysis. I love hip hop, but I'm not sure I'm skilled enough to be able to tackle every facet of it with breakdowns. If you wanted to know my opinions of my favorite songs, albums or artists, yeah that's something I could definitely write paragraphs on paragraphs on.
Same with video games. I fuckin love em, but it's not until the discussion turns to something really specific to my tastes that I can truly "shine" and bang out a good analysis.
Some people express their opinions curtly. Some express them with more content. There's a lot of posters here that I can get the gist of their opinions on something just based on a few sentences. That's just how I've come to know them and their styles over the course of my time reading these threads.
On the other side of the coin, if this place was filled with nothing but blocks of words all day everyday, I'm sure that would intimidate/alienate certain people as well. Nothing wrong with making some posts more digestible, as not everyone wants to make an essay about something.
But yeah, I understand where Des is coming from. I think the important thing going forward is balance.

do you guys think music still leaks out in the same magnitude that it did say...2-3 years ago? I feel like there were always hot exclusive tracks, leftover tracks, single verses, unfinished songs, tags on tags. y'all remember those limelight exclusive mixtapes? dudes consistently put out 10-14 track tapes with ALL exclusives. We also had that run on Drake mixtapes which was all leftovers, unfinished songs and reference tracks from 2009-2013.
maybe artists are just keeping their circle smaller, behind more encrypted places or hackers are just giving up on trying to dig them up.
