Finished my first listen

I'm gonna stop short of using the C word for now, but there wasn't a single track on this CD I didn't enjoy. 16 tracks, no skippables, no filler. Crazy production throughout, standout performances from some of the new blood (Kendrick, Jon Connor), the OGs did their thing (Snoop), even Dre himself snapped on a few of these tracks.

3/3. Doc's done it again. If this is really the end for him in terms of studio releases, at least he went out on top

Giving it a second listen now and good lawd this production is still mind boggling it's going to take me a while to catch all the intricacies in every song. I'd have to say I'm very satisfied with the album on first album Dre delivered will have more thoughts after another listen.

I will say that unlike on the Chronic and 2001, this album seems to be much more evolutionary (and some might even say reactionary) sonically to current west coast rap trends as opposed to revolutionary. The Chronic and 2001 defined the WC sound of their respective eras. Compton more borrowed from and built upon the current sound, pretty much perfecting the modern WC sound.

And that's not necessarily a bad thing. Especially when that plan is executed as well as they have on this record

Yeah...Satisfiction is going to be on repeat throughout the week. Track makes me want to take the roof off of my Kia Forte.

This really isn't a good album and if it's actually going to be his last album, it's a disappointing one. The only tracks I actually ended up enjoying were Genocide (before the Kendrick verse), Loose Cannons (before the verse by the second dude), Deep Water, and One Shot One Kill
