Gamers Nexus: Get it together, NVIDIA | Terrible GPU Driver Stability

9070xt here. Only issue i’m having is constant crashing in CP2077 when using pathtracing. Normal RT is perfectly fine.

Otherwise- GPU has been problem free in Helldivers 2, Days Gone, COD, Remnant 2, HFW and Spiderman Remastered.
yeah and that aint the GPU for pathtracing anyway, so it's a moot point. But I had the same issue, too.

Im legit starting to wonder if we will ever have a GPU capable of rendering pathtracing natively.

How is that a good thing?

Its a GREAT thing for 4090/4000 Super series owners, as it makes any upgrade pointless and much money saved.

Driver problems on PC? naaaahhh that never happens. It's as streamlined an experience as you can get. Just click on an icon and you're good.

Pathtracing runs fine at 1440p balanced upscaling (xess). Benchmark run landed me 68.75fps average.

What this game needs is FSR4 to make it viable.

I’ve had no issues since removing the nvidia app. The first thing I’d recommend to anyone is blowing that app away to see if it resolves any “driver” issue.

Yeah, I have not been impressed with that app. The only worthwhile feature it has is the ability to switch DLSS .dlls.

However, I find that DLSS swapper does a much better job and is much easier to use.

at this point i'm thinking we'll need dedicated path tracing GPUs like that Bolt Zeus GPU in order to properly render

raster and RT workloads for the main GPU, and path tracing offloaded to the 2nd Zeus

Power consumption would be through the roof but we'd get good framerates at least

My apartment gets hotter than the devils rectum in the summer, so no way I'd do it.

Ray tracing is one area I do think AI could positively impact performance.

I'm just glad we're sticking to fully ray traced games now. path tracing will not be mandatory in another 10-15 years and by then the tech will have been ready for a couple years
