Missed the part where the Danish PM said Greenland is not for sale.

Still interesting but seems really far fetched.
Delusions of grandeur leading to nationalistic hysteria.
Seems similar to WWII propaganda except with elements of The Secret and vision boards.

I'm guessing this is all an act to divert people from talking about the anniversary of when a bunch of felons ran amok in DC 4 years ago all because their man (who was found in court to have committed rape) lost an election to a man riddled with Alzheimer’s.

Anyone believing this needs to have a hard look at themselves.

Absolutely Cozy
A NATO country threatening putting military pressure on another NATO country over its territories sounds like a fever dream. Imagine being Sweden and actually having to defend their archenemies in a war against US.

Wouldn't make any sense for Greenlanders.
Their standard of living is much higher than USA. They have fully socialised healthcare and a prison system that is completely different.

Considering Denmark has to give money to Greenland. Is the us taxpayer willing to subsidise free healthcare etc?

Timeline:

-Trump expresses interest in buying Greenland
-Denmark scoffs, refuses
-Greenland’s prime minister declares interest in independence from Denmark
-Trump sends representatives to Greenland

That’s where we’re at, as of an hour ago.

I for one would welcome Greenland and its peoples into the world’s greatest nation. Make it a territory. Give each Greenland citizen a large cash payout. Provide new job opportunities in energy and infrastructure. Free relocation to the continental US if that’s their preference.

We might as well incorporate Greenland into the United States as we already provide for the defense.

The rare earth materials Greenland has is worth it alone.

I heard it was worse than 9/11 and the Holocaust according to the establishment media "pundits."

Holding the doors open for gammy taking pics and her crimes against humanity.

It was embarrassing to be honest. A bunch of losers crying they lost an election in 2020. Little did they realise that the other side would run a horrendous candidate 4 years on. American politics is embarrassing.

This all feels like a distraction from the Visa stuff that MAGA-land was so unhappy about.
I think it's just Trump's modus operandi.

Denmark is known for its super progressive government. It's Europe's California in this regard. It's member of the EU and NATO, but it stands in direct opposition to the values of Trump's America.

Trump is clever. He's setting an example not to fuck with him.

No, this is just demagoguery, he's feeding red meat to his base.

Did at one time consider the US and Canada as running simultaneous great experiments. It's a shame for them to end with this apparent deterioration. But, as noted in the climate threads there's disaster looming and would've failed anyhow without substantial change.

It'll be interesting how the incoming American kakistocracy will handle crisis, but expect it to be unhindered unlike with covid.

Can’t say this obsession with Greenland makes much sense to me. Seems if it is as strategically important as some people think, some enterprising President in the past would have already moved to annex it, especially in the aftermath of WW2.

This just seems like idiotic international trash talk that will end up sidetracking the incoming administration from other issues that matter.
