Likely doing Bloodborne.
If they are, it's probably a launch title for the PS6. I'm guessing Sony would like to launch with another Soul's game. They obviously must know how much anticipation there is for Bloodborne.

Anybody know if the days gone remaster is also being done by Nixxes?

Such a shame if so, because it means that Sony is mostly done porting. Even apart from Spiderman 2 and Tlou 2, which are obviously still going to be ported, there's so many other games. Hell, not even a peep about demon souls remake.

Such a poor choice. It could have been a brand new project.

Actually, it's a great choice. The legwork has been done by HFW. They are simply implementing all the existing enhancements. That's why this was done pretty quickly.

So, this project could logically lead to more complicated ones - such as what Bluepoint did with remakes using their OWN assets and not just ones that already existed.

Nixxes is already getting to a point where they have ported most existing recent Playstation exclusives to PC, and many other teams' engines so that they can easily port more of their games in the future. So eventually they will need more original type content to work on, I'd imagine.

Bruh... When are people going to think about remastering Maximo.. Legend of Dragoon.. Ape escape.. errrghh.

Just so unnecessary. A 7-year old game that still looks fine. If they didn't fix the awful climbing mechanics then I don't see the point.

Changed all the faces, everyone looks younger..I don't get it. Maybe I'm not in their target market.
Bingo, that's exactly how I've been feeling more and more for every year - I'm not in their target market anymore.

Horizon didn't need this, sick of the franchises being pushed so hard.

Two games, two spin-offs, and an upgrade remaster in 7 years. So much “pushing”. 🙄

I’m not going to repeat my entire post on this subject because you can easily find it elsewhere but compared to the output they did for Uncharted, Killzone, infamous, and God Of War over similar or shorter time spans, anyone claiming they’re “pushing” Horizon is a clown.

Maximo is Capcom...
Sony most likely doesn't see a good reason for remastering Ape Escape, The Legend of Dragoon or any of its PS1 games as it clashes with the idea of offering them as part of the PS Plus Premium Classics Catalog.

Lol, exactly.
God of War from 2005 to 2015:
God of War (PS2, 2005)
God of War II (PS2, 2007)
God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP, 2008)
God of War Collection (PS3, 2009)
God of War III (PS3, 2010)
God of War: Ghost of Sparta (PSP, 2010)
God of War: Origins Collection (PS3, 2011)
God of War: Ascension (PS3, 2013)
God of War Collection (PS Vita, 2014)
God of War III Remastered (PS4, 2015)
Ape Escape from 1999 to 2010:
Ape Escape (PS, 1999)
Pipo Saru 2001 (PS2, 2001)
Ape Escape 2 (PS2, 2002)
Gacha Mecha Stadium Saru Battle (PS2, 2004)
EyeToy: Monkey Mania (PS2, 2004)
Ape Academy (PSP, 2004)
Ape Escape: On the Loose (PSP, 2005)
Ape Escape 3 (PS2, 2005)
Ape Academy 2 (PSP, 2005)
Saru! Get You! Million Monkeys (PS2, 2006)
Saru! Get You: Pipo Saru Racer (PSP, 2006)
Saru! Get You! SaruSaru Big Mission (PSP, 2007)
Ape Quest (PSP, 2008)
PlayStation Move Ape Escape (PS3, 2010)
Ape Eacape's milking was pretty brutal, particularly in the mid 2000's.

Just an aside, but I so want this to happen. Capcom has been delivering my dreams lately with Power Stone and the sequel being part of Capcom Fighting Collection 2.
Only if I get MML 1-2 and Tron Bonne first.

Ugh the whole Horizon franchise is just so BLAND and BORING

The gameplay is boring, the combat is highly repetitive and I tried but can't seem to care about the main or side characters at all.

I think Sony wants them to replace Bluepoint, since Bluepoint is now focusing on original games.

On the bright side, if Bluepoint is shifting away from remakes, maybe Nixxes will follow a similar path.
Speaking of Bluepoint...
Where the hell is the PS5 patch for Shadow of the Colossus Remake...

I think that Sony knows remasters and remakes are a limited resource and is using Nixxes and Bluepoint to ensure they did the best of the remasters and remakes it made sense to have (they may have a few more, but not tons) and to hone their skills and experience with SIE WWS’s engines and tooling as well as pairing across the studios too.

This ensures Sony’s PC strategy does not hurt console development, gives Sony’s confidence in these new smaller studios in picking up new IPs/making original content, and allows Sony’s titles (think TLoU series) to offer an ultimate edition where all games have the same quality and presentation (this helps the smaller studios to pick up big projects with a good guide and helps them dig in existing Sony tentpole IPs… sure if TLoU Part III comes out on PS6 we may see a remaster of the other two titles to bring the quality up, but I wonder if they can do that with only a small $9 upgrade fee).

It doesn't have replay value imo so I dont care for it but if it was made by nieces why not take an updated version for the people who didn't play it already.

So many games locked behind PS3 or even Vita. Horizon didn't need this, sick of the franchises being pushed so hard.

Remake Resistence Trilogy or Uncharted Golden Abyss.
Because it's quick money? Due to both ZD and FW most of the assets already exist so go straight in, it's an easy job and let's Nixxes cut their teeth properly on Decima. Any of the games you mentioned above (and I agree, would be awesome, as would totally rebooting The Order 1886) would take a long time, and money, to create. This is a quick remaster sold for cheap if you upgrade.

That is different from remastering Ape Escape 1. Team Asobi will make one at some point, I'm sure.

Who's to say they're not going to do that right after their feet wet experience? Second part about Herman does feel that way at face value, but it is the highest selling new IP and seems they want to strike while the iron is hot.
the hate boner a lot of people here on GAF have for Horizon is so weird to me, it’s one thing to not like the game yourselves but the complete denial about how successful the IP has been is really just burying their heads in the sand

I would wager the reason we've been seeing such a heavy push from GG regarding Horizion is after the success of LOU tv series Sony wants to bring Aloy and Horizion to the big screen and cinema, this way she's well known and thus more popular...

a good idea if Aloy weren't

I would rather a Remake of the Order 1886 than Horizon. It's perfectly fine as is. I would rather they make new games but if they are going to remake or remaster old games it should be PS3 or earlier. Jak and Daxter, God of War, Resistance etc

They did a fine job too.
Motorstorm or Warhawk next!
I don't see Motorstorm ever coming back. Sony doesn't look beyond Gran Turismo when it comes to racing / car games. They've even ignored the rising popularity of Forza Horizon series, while other companies like Ubisoft or Nacon are trying to capitalize on it and make their own fun open world racing / social games.

Bloodborne died so we could get this

There’s something weird with Bloodborne either that From are the only ones that can work on it or something else they need to wait for.

It will be done one way or another at some time, but I don’t believe they’re choosing projects over this on purpose though. It was reported that a remaster/remake was in the works and then went dark.

If this treatment was given to Bloodborne it would've had the highest concurrent players on steam and ps at the moment even with 60 dollar price
