I have Series X and I don't understand the negativity around the console

I prefer the Series X to the PS5 in regards to the actual console. I prefer the controller and the console is so quiet I forget it's on. The ability to apply 120 hrtz and the extended VRR range to everything means that even when the performance is worse than the PS5 it ends up feeling smoother. Automatic updates to the next gen version for games along with achievements and data. The list goes on yet I play the PS5 considerably more. Just finished up Astro Bot and it blows away the any first part game on the Series X. In fact I play it less than the Switch si what does that tell you.

It's because the negativity is not around but inside the console.

The negativity comes directly from the online Sony Freegunner army, that's all.

The base Xbox consoles and services remain better than the competition's and that's absolutely unacceptable to 45 year old incels, who have grossly entwined their ego and self-worth with some dodgy Japanese company.

Game Pass literally has them slamming on their phones and keyboards, frothing at the mouth, because for some reason GP existing is a slight to Sony who can't afford to compete directly. Instead, "oh I can't wait to try it" is parroted ad nauseum every month in the PS Plus thread when Sony throw them two unknown indies and last year's AA failure.

Sony Freegunners are like an orphan Macaque sucking it's own penis to self-soothe.

The mere mention of Xbox has the Freegunners screeching as if you're reaching into their minds and abusing their childhoods.

They are sick and twisted.

I've owned 3, 2 broke and the third sounds like it's about too. Like their elite controllers, they are made of ramen.

So we're now comparing sales to what could be people trying a game out for 15 minutes until they fly over their house.
Yea, that's a stupid comparison. I love Flight Sim but let's be honest most people don't play it for more than a couple of minutes before they uninstall it. It has a very niche audience.

I actually liked the console when I had it. There was just no reason for me to use it since I have a much more powerful gaming PC and MS thankfully fully supports both platforms.

I bought 1 back in late 2022 had it for 7 days didn't like it and give it to my sister son who found fun in it so that made me happy. (y)

I bought a Series X used a year ago with 2 controllers for $300, and I enjoyed it as a BC machine though I did also play Plaque Tale Requiem and Dead Space remake on it. It's a good machine, actually I like it just on that basis more than PS5( which I just bought a used slim model 2 months ago).

But how MS has handled their business this gen, especially this year, made me lose all confidence in them as far as consoles go, so I sold for what I paid for it 3 months ago. When I got to the point where I was actually afraid to spend my money( I got like $50 credit on my account) on the console ecosystem it no longer made sense to keep it. I can use that money on the Windows store for my Legion Go instead.

i don't understand the need for quick resume do you have to switch between 20 games every 2 minutes?
No, but it's nice to be able pick back up where you left off while you play something else without losing any progress since the last save point. You don't have to reach the next milestone or save point or anything. You just pick right back up where you were, even if you've played something else.

Personally, I love the Xbox Series X and even upgraded to the 2TB Galaxy Black Edition and despite also owning a PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox remains my primary gaming console (just like PlayStation 4 Pro did despite also owning an Xbox One X) as it's simply the superior platform out of the two.

First and foremost are Microsoft's published games. From my game of the generation in Starfield to my 2021 game of the year in Halo Infinite to other great games like Hi Fi Rush (which thankfully will live on at Tango Gameworks under Krafton and hopefully, they don't fuck up the sequel), Gears Tactics, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. With an 18 game announced road map post 2024 in which 13 of them are of interest to me, Microsoft has by far given me their best games lineup in their console history and it's not even close.

Second is Game Pass Ultimate which for someone like me who doesn't give two shits about ownership or collections, being able to play Microsoft's games day one as part of my subscription is what I want all publishers to do eventually. Adding in third party day one games like the upcoming Stalker 2, Atomfall and others make the subscription service a steal even at $20 a month.

Third is Backwards Compatibility which also applies to Game Pass Ultimate to an extent. Being able to play through all the Halo games this past August for the first time ever via Game Pass Ultimate was awesome. This is simply an extra positive and benefit that gets overlooked. Even better is the fact that even if I don't get a chance to complete games this generation, I know that they will carry over to next generation.

Fourth is Free Cloud Saves which has saved me several times. Such a great added benefit and bonus to the platform that rarely gets mentioned.

Fifth is a six game refund policy every calendar year. This has saved me some extra money. Sometimes I just want to tryout a game because im curious and knowing that I can refund the game if I want is such a huge perk because it allows you to play games for a few hours without the risk of losing $60/$70.

Sixth which perhaps for me is more like second is the ability to use the Xbox One controller which is my favorite and best controller of all time. No gimmicks and no bullshit. Just a standard controller with 40+ hours battery life on a single charge. Feels great and no stupid texture on the back like the Xbox Series X/S controller and in my opinion, the better directional pad.

Seventh is EA Play being in Game Pass Ultimate. As someone who wants to play through the original Mass Effect trilogy for the first time, being able to do so part of my GPU subscription is an added perk.

Eighth is Ubisoft+ being available on Xbox (don't know when it's coming to PlayStation) as this allows me to play the best version of their games day one for an $18 monthly rental.

Other bonuses like Quick Resume and the ability to buy one copy of a game and be able to play it on Xbox, Windows Store PC and via Streaming are huge benefits that I don't use but im sure are huge for many people.

To each their own but as long as Microsoft manufactures and releases a console, im going nowhere because the benefits and positives and perks I get on Xbox are simply superior for me personally compared to Sony and Nintendo. Xbox baby!!! :messenger_tears_of_joy:
