This is Ziff Davis we’re talking about, so I’m sure this article exists solely for massaging public for something unpopular among Xbox crowd. Like Starfield reveal for PS5.Funny that IGN has been the one of the few outlets that has clinged to the console war narrative this gen when most others don't even bother talking about it.
Even Nintendo came back from the dead from the Gamecube and the Wii U and they're not nearly a quarter as rich as Microsoft as a whole. We will just hope and pray that the next Xbox is worth a damn to keep Sony on their toes.

Well, better than the 10 to 1 of the Xbox vs PS2.
Fair point. Truth be told, I'll never buy an Xbox again, unless there's a mega sale or something as I got my series S for $150, which I will use for BC. But it's difficult to bring myself to buy a PlayStation either. PC is my home along with a Switch. Not after resorting to putting Mario and Zelda on PlayStation.
People are saying we already knew this, but I didn't - or at least, I didn't realize the ratio was 5 to 1. That's assuming IGN is playing fair with the numbers (I didn't watch the video).
edit: I skimmed to the part where they talked about sales, which is around 9:20. It seems fishy to me. He refers to a Sony financial report in which Sony announced 65 m PS5 consoles sold, and he then compares that to Xbox's 29.7 m.. Then, in the very next sentence, he says, "To break that down, for every one Xbox Series S/X console bought, 5 Playstation 5 consoles are also purchased."
Um, that doesn't follow at all. The data he just gave paints a 2 to 1 ratio. Yet he makes it sound ("to break that down"...) as if the 5 to 1 is just further elaboration on what he has just said - when actually it's contradictory.
I wonder where he's getting that 5 to 1 ratio from. He does not say (maybe he mentioned it in another part of the video I didn't watch). The context he sandwiches it in between contradicts it. Any 5 to 1 ratio would refer to current sales ratio, not overall sales ratio. You can't conflate the two. Confusing.

gotta drag it around behind me like Pyramid heads swordHow do you live with your massive 12 inch dick?
Because a few months ago we was getting articles like these .
lol at fanboys, play the games people, not the console.
I went over to a friends one night and they were playing one, we had an unreal time playing Towerfall Ascension so I picked one up.![]()
Just kidding.
I can understand the Wii U and Series X. The Ouya is a bit of a head-scratcher, though. How did you like it?
You're now getting Microsoft games with Pro support?Okay, how does that benefit me as a PS5 Pro user?
Cause this gen has been shit concerning games, specially first party games, but now I have a console that can display 4 more people in a crowd that costs double the other SKU.
The question was why are people surprised those click bait articles are the reasons .The first thread you linked is completely about games and specifically says "As a publisher, they are going to be a force to be reckoned with". That hasn't changed in the slightest.
The second thread is literally about an article saying Xbox's future is looking bright because of their move into third party and that we're seeing promising early signs when looking at their software sales on Playstation.
The third thread links to an article that, once again, is about the good software showing they had at their developer direct and focuses on the games they are soon to release.
Literally no one claimed Xbox hardware sales were going to make a miraculous turnaround.

Microsoft is pathetic. I don't see much chance for them to have successful next gen console. Series consoles didn't have fuck ups that Xbox One had and they still failed (even harder).
FTFY.All hail the console that killed Xbox:

Huh? I think the series consoles were first major brand launch with no exclusives. That was worse than being over priced.Microsoft is pathetic. Remember when he said that games on the One X would be native 4K no excuses? there were a good number of native 4K games but most of them were not native 4K as time went on, to be fair it had the best console version of every game for the rest of that generation but it was also $100 more and came out a year later than the Pro. The fact is though he said native 4K no excuses and then that didn't turn out to be true and the gaming media never called him out for it, they rarely call him out for any of his BS.![]()
Whatch some 2014-2015 Xbox’s E3 conferences. The man Spencer over promised and under delivered. I did sold my SX when it was obvious that they were going third party. But even so by the time I did sold it last year I barely had any game in it. Ah, and don’t forget that late 360 era was not only Kinect. It was Halo 4. And when we thought things couldn’t get worse Halo Guardians and Infinty came. Guardians was better… ish, but the story was utterly fucked.
FTFY.
That was the least of One’s problems. I’d play 720p games if they are worthy but I did skipped that Xbox generation and once I had a SX I only bought the Halos. 7 years and nothing worthy. Four more years after that and with a fantastic machine (SX) and still nothing. 11 years of nothing and then they buy some great exclusives only to become third party because the decision made of switching to game pass during that period of nothingness. Spencer said that you can’t win Sony making games but that’s complete bullshit because he didn’t even try that.Remember when he said that games on the One X would be native 4K no excuses? there were a good number of native 4K games but most of them were not native 4K as time went on, to be fair it had the best console version of every game for the rest of that generation but it was also $100 more and came out a year later than the Pro. 3rd world problems. It is pretty crazy that I still don’t know anyone who has bought a PS5.
Someone shop phil and jimbo plz.
I didnt see anything, damnit. The first few months of the PS4 camera and Ustream oh boy the things I saw.
Indeed good memories.

Microsoft isn't going anywhere. It's just that days of Xbox being seen as a desired gaming console for people are gone now. They had to deliver some heavyhitters to market and so far we have seen none from them, despite all the usual early gen promises.Even Nintendo came back from the dead from the Gamecube and the Wii U and they're not nearly a quarter as rich as Microsoft as a whole. We will just hope and pray that the next Xbox is worth a damn to keep Sony on their toes.

Spencer has a boss too. I don't know what the purpose of the ABK acquisition was, but now it just feels it has nothing to do with Xbox. Maybe Microsoft just wanted to grow into huge publisher, period. Spencer trying to paint everything they do as in favor of "the health of Xbox" is obviously just PR talk.Yes Phil is an absolute idiot who has driven the brand into the ground. Worse than Mattrick in every way. The fact he hasn’t been sacked shows Nutella doesn’t know his arse from a hole in the ground as well.
