It's a fun game, the changing gravity mechanic used to to solve the puzzles is interesting.
Personally I wasn't really bothered by that because the actual gameplay mechanics and spatial puzzles are pretty polished. The trailer doesn't exactly sell me, seems a bit barebones.
"Prepare to explore Escher-esque environments"
How about you show me those in the trailer? Cause all I see are drab industrial lab rooms. Even Magrunner had to change it up after doing the training rooms.
Today i have mainly been buying:
Full Bore & Soundtrack
Leviathan: Last Day of the Decade
Rose & Time
The Sea Will Claim Everything
Indie Royale Bundle
Now i'm looking at the BundleStars games and pondering them. My mates hate me though, i've sent them the links to the bundles too and they've all bought stuff![]()
The digging boar was the first thing to happen, then we just had to come up with a world where a digging boar would make sense, as the game evolved into more of a narrative puzzle exploration game. We have lots of ideas for other games after Full Bore, it just depends on if we do well enough to keep on making games. Thanks again for helping spread the word about our game, it helps a lot.
I asked the Full Bore dev how they got to the idea about their characters/world and why its a boar:
So yeah, if we want these incredibly talented people continue making games, its our part to let others know about it and to vote with our wallets and voices.
Thanks! Sounds like my type of gameGot you covered too:

And there's a level editor coming. But quick impressions: fun, challenging, totally worth getting

Speaking of Escher, I never checked out The Bridge.

Another positive impression... Think i'll pick this up.It's a fun game, the changing gravity mechanic used to to solve the puzzles is interesting.
FINE I'LL BUY IT NOW!
I played some of the latest Betrayer update. The game is coming along well, though it's a shame how bullet (arrow) spongey some enemies are. That and having to start a new game every time there's an update.
The bane of early access, I suppose.
Success.
You always know what to say!
I'm considering starting up an indie blog too - following on from the (relative) success of my old website. Volgarr is up first.
I just got to the first boss on Volgarr and it smashed my shit up. I need a break.
If Full Bore is stressful I might cry.

Getting a Volgarr vibe, but I guess that's because they're both retro style gamesBeen messing around with the beta release for Odallus: The Dark Call which was released to backers, this game looks like it's going to be a lot of fun - they've nailed the classic Castlevania-vibe, in gameplay as well as looks and presentation. Excellent soundtrack, as well.
You can play the demo at;

And here's a couple of gifs I made from the beta;

You ready for this? I had been totally ignorant of Transistor. I didn't realize it was by the Bastion devs till today. Can't believe that Transistor of all games slipped under my radar. It looks so good.
Odallus is a weird one for me because on paper I should have liked it, but the gameplay in the demo wasn't really to my liking. Probably going to skip it unless they've overhauled some of the more annoying characteristics.

It's a mix between minecraft and I guess something of a super lite dwarf fortress.
No need to apologize. Discussion isn't limited to games from the current month, in fact it's great to play and mention games from older threads so they aren't forgotten. We even have a tradition, Wayback Wednesday, in which we play and post impression of games from past threads that we may have missed or overlooked
Edit: and I just realized that it was Wednesday. Oops, I'll post my belated Wayback post later
SuperHot! One of my favorites free games I've, so much potentialWorking my way through the indies tonight:
Super Hot, Volgarr (beat the first boss!) Life Goes On, Lily Looking Through and The Last Tango.
Impressions forthcoming.
I also bought that metroid pig game because Toma wouldn't shut up.
I've been reading the NeoGaf thread, but since I just registered for an account there today, I don't have permission to post on it yet.

Are mods able to give newly registered members a way to post? The Full Bore dev is aware of the GAF thread but just joined and can't post yet

+1 to that. Everyone I recommend it to loves the game and I believe it was the first free game I posted about on my blog. The sense of true discovery, of exploring the final frontier really makes "space" in games like Mass Effect and Dead Space seem laughableSuper Hot is pretty damn good. I'm shit at it though
And yeah - just get them to.. well yeah, the post above mine!
Edit
Outer Wilds is incredible. I mean seriously good. I mean, sure, I crashed into the center of some planet but FUCK man, space.

Well I enjoyed the game so much that I endured the lag. Not the optimal experience and I eagerly await playing the game on a better PC, but it was worth it.It doesnt run well for meI get heavy lag as soon as I step into the cave where I need to get the start key/code. Fucking annoying. Badass doesnt even have a good PC, does he? No clue why it completely craps out for me.
Puzzle platformers are not uncommon on IOS, so it takes something more, something unique for a game to stand out among its brethren and the daily flood of new games in general. Incoboto does just that, with its atmospheric art style, an enigmatic narrative that's equal parts bleak and witty, challenging puzzles, and smooth touch controls.

Played Brawlin' Sailor because the description says it's short, the game is really short but well made for something made in 4 days. Some parts made me chuckle and there are two endings.

Spoiler about the ending:Really 2 endings? Or did you refer to the dream -> reality ones as 2? If not, whats the second ending and how did you get it? I had the one with the princess who doesnt want to come with me and then the dog sitting alone at the shore.
if you don't beat the dog in reality he comes with you.
Whats the incentive for the player to keep playing? Story? Loot?

As I said earlier, I'd really love to play it, but it changes from 20 something FPS to 1FPS in a matter of seconds once I go up the slope to the cave with the keycard/code. Anyone got an idea?
Outer Wilds single handedly made me spend 3 HOURS watching TED talks about space.
Gimme your SPECS son
