Congratulations, you really deserve it!
Is this being released soon or what?

So I open up passbook and the brightness immediately goes all the way up. Then it shows a page with a link to the App Store. When I click it, it seems to just show me random apps. How does this work?
I have a feeling it could be some ways off. Maybe Google wants users to throw a big fuss about functionality that's now missing in the new Maps app before proudly announcing that they've got the solution, LOL.
Brightness goes all the way up because they expect these to be used with barcode scanners, which can scan better with the device on high brightness.
Does it go back down in brightness when you switch out to another app? I don't have an iOS 6 phone anymore to test.
MapGate is going to be a pretty big deal IMO. Hopefully I'm wrong but I have a feeling A LOT of people are going to be angry.
Traffic information has been getting better as the week as been going on (I'm assuming more and more people are installing GM?) but there are also tons of restaurants near me that are in the wrong locations not to mention the lack of transit data.
This launch reminds me of the 3G (3gs?) launch when Apple decided to release a new phone, a new iOS, mobileme, iTunes and I want to say even a new version of OS X all on the same day.
I know a lot of people (myself included) have been harsh on this launch but A LOT of stuff under the hood everywhere is changing. Removal of the youtube app, worse maps app, app store is completely redone (as of 7:30 PST on the eve of the launch - still isn't working how it shoul), itunes music store is totally redone. Neither one are better IMO than the old ones. Passbook has the potential to be either awesome or the new Newsstand app. I could really see it going either way at the moment.
While not directly related to Apple - the new Twitter app got updated today, which a lot of people have said is for the worse. Could leave a bad impression for one of the bigger selling points of iOS6 - Twitter/Facebook integration.
Tomorrow a lot of people are going to update their phones to iOS6 and I'm not sure everyone will welcome the sheer number of changes that are going on.
So still waiting. What time is it supposed to release?
Not for another three hours.
I wonder if there is an update to the GM, because auto brightness still isn't working for me.
Works for me, it's just much more subtle in its adjustments than on iOS 5

Can I upgrade straight from my phone or will I need to hook up my laptop?
Updates can be done over the air now.
What's the problem?I'm staying put until there's a Map solution.![]()
What's the problem?
Ah yea no transit. That sucks big time but I'll find another app for it.The missing features? Not worth the trade off to me.

Worth the upgrade still I feel.
I hope they switch over iPhoto iOS from the ugly POS they use now.
GM any different from today's release?
I can't help but feel the GM had some bugs.

To everyone who is unhappy about the transit apps. If you live in a large city there are aps that have updated for iOS 6 and integrate with maps for transit directions
Embark - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/embark-nyc-subway-new-york/id450991137?mt=8
I use the NYC version and it works well. It even has information about service changes/advisories.
I also tried out http://itunes.apple.com/app/id501673331 last night. The directions are more detailed than Embark.
Both apps have data for quite a few cities.
Probably minor, and probably to activate Passbook.
An easier solution is just not updating until Apple gets their shit straight. And this is coming from a huge Apple fan.
This screams of not being ready, and taking features I paid for away.

Apple won't be offering Transit.
It's third party or nothing.

Then class action it is.

I think you'd have to actually upgrade to 6 before you were eligible to file one...
I'm pretty sure Passbook is already activated, we just need apps to take advantage of it.
Are you joking or serious? Class action on what basis?

Finally. Been asking for recommendations for weeks. thanks guys. Those of you who need transit might give this app a shot: http://thetransitapp.com
Looks really good.
I'm kind of surprised that when I hit Passbook's app store button that it goes nowhere. No passbook apps in the store yet? Just seems odd. Even at WWDC they were showing Starbucks and Delta mockups.

Yea, honestly, I cannot complain about it. It gives me what I need. I have been using embark for a while because it has the schedule for the NYC subway. They posted an update and BAM, maps integration. Thanks for the link to Embark, I just installed it and the integration with maps works fairly well.

Have a fun time waiting for iOS 7.
