Jaguar (vehicles) has transitioned into a fragrance company

What time is it?
Yep, it's made with bits of real jaguar, so you know it's good.

I'm retarded?
Does Jaguar know who their target audience is.....? Cuz whoever made the ad clearly doesnt. The rock shape is clearly a car, most likely an electric one.

It's been known since at least 2020 they were going all EV.

I don't think them going all EV is the problem though.

The problem is throwing away close to 100 years of history and pissing on your brand equity, like they are.
The leaper has been redesigned, they've ditched the growler, the fontface is a joke etc.

Even the brand website is a mess:

Seriously, who the fuck decided this was good? Gerry McGovern, most likely. Should've kept Ian Callum onboard.
Sir William Lyons would be turning in his grave at this.

I can assure you, that's just camo on the test mule to hide what it really looks like. The grille isn't on the car, just bolted on to disguise the design.
I know about camo test track designs. Big time car enthusiast that follows spy shots into my veins.

Still has similar lines that reminded me of the 300/Magnum. Down to the crop top windows.

Literally. Like Subaru didn't even do anything and it's probably somewhat dented by the perception of being for adventurous lesbians. There's nothing wrong with adventurous lesbians with Subaru Outbacks. But it may dissuade a guy who would otherwise want one.

Jaguar sales have to be what, at least 70% male? Maybe far more? Even if they got the entire trans market (which they won't) that doesn't make up for even a few percent drop in the just a man market

I still have a tiny amount of hope this is a masterful jebait and their dec 2 event will be nothing like this and they drop the fake rebrand but drew a bunch of rage eyeballs to their event lol

The new designs fit with their product. Just browsing their website at their catalogue of vehicles, the only one that doesn't look like every other car out on the market is the F-type. Their sedan looks similar to other mid/high-end market sedans (gut reaction is most similar to... BMW?) and their SUVs (Jag SUVs?) are the top of their product lineup and are sure SUVs. The no personality sleekness fits with the vehicle design. ... It doesn't fit with their marketing saying "Copy Nothing" when they're literally copying the streamlining design directive that's dominated marketing for a decade+, but I never said they were being honest.

imma be real, that new monogram badge fits their cars way better than the old badge.

Jaguar's current models all follow a typical modern/sleek design. while that "growler" badge would be more fitting for an American muscle car, or maybe something like Lamborghini (as in outrageous looking sports cars)

the new monogram looks fitting for a luxury brand, which they clearly want to be seen as.

I'm a little into fragrances and realise pretty much all fragrance adverts are weird, but I'm not sure what to make of this; it seems like they're launching a fashion line but who knows.

And you have to credit the marketing team because it's something people are talking about.

Ultimately, if they launch a good mens fragrance, and depending on if it suits me, I'll get it.

I was looking at buying an F-type a few years back, but I couldn't find a used convertible model. I had to click around all the rebrand stuff just now only to find they are doing it's final production run.
