Jaguar (vehicles) has transitioned into a fragrance company

This will not sell more Jags to old people and does not seem to make them cool to young people. It looks terrible.

They, like other moronic WEF kool-aid companies that will be scrambling to backpedal, discontinued their best model car.

F-Type.

that silly mars ad aside

"copy nothing"

ok, let's see what their next car's engine is.

I bet it will NOT be a Jaguar made engine. It will be somebody else's shit.

The early 2000s Dodge/Chrysler body style is going to kill them far more than being an EV.

You do realise most of those panels are there to obscure what it will actually look like. That mule will be testing the platform and drivetrain.

I'm aware the obfuscating QR stickers are there for that purpose. Are you saying they've also attached a bogus body kit with fake facia/fenders/etc as well?

I was sat next to one of Tata's policy consultants a couple of months back. He was running PR for the battery factory Tata have had to build because the company that was supposed to build the batteries went bankrupt before they produced even one.

He was there to discuss and learn about green/renewable energy policy. I found the heart to tell him that the panel talk he was in might be labelled as 'green', but really it was about nature conservation and really rather NIMBYist, and that I was only there just to be be annoying and amuse myself.

imma be real, that new monogram badge fits their cars way better than the old badge.

Jaguar's current models all follow a typical modern/sleek design. while that "growler" badge would be more fitting for an American muscle car, or maybe something like Lamborghini (as in outrageous looking sports cars)

the new monogram looks fitting for a luxury brand, which they clearly want to be seen as.

It looks plain, boring, and shit.

I wouldn't even need to design that new logo, just go looking in the font/typeface folder of my computer.

And I bet someone got paid very handsomely for that shite.

That's the worst part about all this minimalism shit, some yuppie university diverse team get paid multiple millions to do the most basic crap and write a 30 page document about how spacing the letters and extra .2 apart makes the logo feel more like a warm hug or some shit.

This sorta explains it

Creative has really gone down hill in the past 10 years or so, and this explains why. Brands view themselves as people now, so they think they should think and act like the people who are behind them.

That's wrong.

Brands should go back to being brands. Not your friends or loved ones. They should be something you aspire to, not DM.

I'm still holding a bit of hope this could be a masterful hugely successful jebait and at the December 2 event, they drop all of this fake rebrand, but got a bunch of eyeballs on the event for an EV lol

And many many more in the comments, brought to you by the blue tick!

I assume you're suggesting these comments are racist, but ad firms and production studios have been very public and open about their explicit mandates on quotas for minority representation in every piece of content they work on.

More in line of how overusing "woke" diluted it, the Jaguar shit, that's woke, the Porsche ad, that's not, but screaming it's woke because it has a black person in it is just dumb af.

Damn, the car is FIRE but that sheepherder was ROBBED trading his dope Barbour coat for that flash porsche trash jacket:p
Annnnd I see the Barbour coat is somehow being linked to the alt-right. Which makes no sense cause its just good clothes.

And I have no issue with the porsche ad other than wondering just what sort of transaction went down. I wish they would stick to lower powered ICE engines and focus on the handling rather than chasing the HP with EV stuff to skirt around emissions requirements. Every EV car is like 500 pounds heavier than they should be and even if its hot off the line do we really need sub 4 sec 0-60 EV cars?

Jaguar’s concerns should be the cars fuel type, fix issues not its logo.

having a simple symbol as your car badge is pretty normal.

it's actually more intricate than most.
almost every brand has just a slightly stylised version of their first letter, usually in a circle, and that's it.

and it's not like the others I posted there are brand new "modern" badges.
Opel had slight variations of their "Blitz" badge since the 60s.
which by the way was originally a simplified version of a blimp with wings!

so, simplifying the logo isn't a new phenomenon, it's just what brands do it seems after a while.

I feel like companies make...bold(?) moves like this when they are either extremely desperate or as a calculated prelude to a "hey, we are returning to form!" play to their base. Jaguar has always had a very dodgy reputation for me, do I'd say it's the former at play here.

No, it's just more bland monofication. Just like all the cars are starting to look the same no matter what company or brand. We don't need more of that. Just because it is normal or common, does not mean it is good.

Plus, they replaced a relatively simply logo with a fucking leaping jaguar one with two abstract Js.

Yes. There are extra bits stuck on to it. Go look up early I pace mule shots, that was just using the f-pace body kit with a battery platform.

Let's be honest here though, Audi, Merc and BMW own the semi luxury sedan space. Jag tried to muscle in without much success.

There is little point in Jag pivoting to the SUV space because Land Rover is already there.

So judging by the advert Jag are trying to pivot towards the sorts of people who drop silly money on the latest fashions. A bit of a shame given the legacy but it is hard competing with VW group (Porsche, Audi, Lambo) in the driving enthusiast space because not enough people drop 100K+ on an F-Type when that can get you a 911.

It won't work for one very easy to get reason.
Legacy car makers will only make it with marketing and selling their heritage thought the product.
Chinese soulless brands will have a faster dev cycle, be more up to date and cheaper, but they'll always be an Xiaomi but not an iPhone.

Jaguar should have updated their design, go EV and sell their heritage HARD.
But getting rid of their heritage by dumping their iconic logos and themes is going to fail.

Musk should launch the baddest, manliest ad campaign on Dec 3rd (same day jag is revealing the rebranding /ev focus)

As a JG owner i agree that jaggy needed serious rebranding.

I feel like such a disgusting white bigoted pig male that hates on minorities every time i rev my white privileged engine.

Please ban all white rich people from getting jaggies in the future and make the new engines run on soybean oil

Years back when I wad car shopping, Jag was on my list. That's when XE's were available. I even sat in it at a car show along with a Q50 red. I decided to get an Alfa instead since the Jag's sitting position is bad. My seat was up and still had trouble seeing over the hood as it pops up a bit more than other cars. I'll be getting a new car soon and will probably get a BMW M240i. But like always I'll look around... Acura, Kia Stinger, if Alfa remodels their car in time..... but no more Jag on my list. That ad was major gay.

That ad is the epitome of gay.

The marketing execs clearly have their head right up their own asses for not to realise how badly this will affect the Jaguar brand.

Remember during Occupy Wall Street when they decided, at the top, to change everything to identity politics? This is just the continuation of that, except you actually think gays give a shit about the corporate world trying to pander to them. This is what happens when you think ResetEra is representative of a certain community. Just ignore it all. Endless mind war bullshit and click bait outrage in the form of advertising designed to drive nonsense news cycles as a distraction. Just another wedge driven between lower and middle classes, old divide and conquer.

The people at the top don't give a shit about brands. They are an expendable asset to them.
